What's great about it: Easy set-up, good picture Quality, easy youtube video postage, Durable
What's not so great: not for making DVD's, or to be projected onto large TV's
"This camera is great for making quick videos (within an hour long) very durable good quality built in software no USB cable to lose.
-Get a mini telescopic tripod
-Dont plug onto front USB ports on your comp. unless they r powered i found that out the hard way be safe and plug it in the back of youe comp"

What's great about it: Easy to Use - Great value for price.
What's not so great: Not really suitable for making DVDs
"The Flip is designed to make videos for uploading to You Tube or for sending by email and for that purpose, it is perfect. Viewed at their native 640 x 480 resolution the videos look great.
What it doesn't do well is make videos for burning to DVD. The small image does not scale up well for viewing on your television, so consider that before you buy."

What's not so great: Software can be slow on some computers
"This camera is fantastic. I really love it alot! I have it on me at all times to catch memories in action, and it never fails me for that purpose! It's great for someone who wants to make a YouTube video but does not want to pay hundreds of dollars. I have owned this product for about 2 years now and it's slightly beat up but the overall quality has not changed at all. I would strongly recommend this for anyone to give a great gift to a tech person in your family (or who is a friend). You will not be dissatisfied. (And neither will the recipient!!)"

"Okay, this is the coolest thing to buy for someone if you are at a loss for the holidays! I love mine! I am a new parent and wanted something portable and small to take with me just in case my little one did something extremely cute that I wanted to share over the miles with friends & family. I love that the software that is built into the Flip helps you to reduce the file size so that you can email your videos or upload them and send a link to your friends. So super cool for You Tube, MySpace or Facebook fans too. It's very easy to use. The batteries seem to last for a while too! It is better than taking that huge file video on your camera and plus the website lets you freeze frame as well to take still pics. Very neat! Totally buy it!"

"if you are looking for a moment grabber, this is fantastic. its fun to have, easy to use, and small enough that you can bring it anywhere. but if you just had a child and you want to film him/her i would get a camcorder.
we got the flip just as something to bring on trips and it works great for that purpose. something to consider is this version takes two AA batteries...the newest version has a rechargeable battery....personally i like having extra AAs if the battery dies wherever we are."

"I really enjoy filming with this digital recorder. It's easy to use and travel with. I like hooking it up to the television after filming so you can instantly show your family the video. I wish there was an option to turn the sound of when filming. Great for kids and people who shy away from taking video because they don't want to lug around the camera. Haven't posted anything to the web yet, but he software was easy to install."

"We took our camera to Hawaii with us and prior to leavir purchased an underwater case. This camera is simple to use and takes great video. We took many underwater videos while we were in Hawaii and they all came out great! I would absolutely recommend this camera to anyone looking to purchase one."

"This camcorder is great. I was using it five minutes out of the box. I did a lot of research here and elsewhere. It is exactly what the reviews state: simple to use and good quality output. I'll be using it for a video newsletter for my business. I emailed a test video and it was perfect. I figured at this price I had nothing to lose...and I'm very happy. With most new technology there's a learning curve, but this little sweetie is easy to use right away. If you need to read the guide, it's very simple and to the point, you don't have to be a techno-geek (not that there's anything wrong with that). I highly recommend it for those of us who have little time to learn new stuff and want to be up and running very soon. I chose this model because I prefer to carry extra batteries instead of being marrooned without an AC outlet. And 60 minutes is lots of time. Need more time? Download your clips to your computer (it takes mere minutes) and you're ready to go again! Go for it - this is the bomb!"

What's not so great: Only 60 mins of video storage (Which isn't even that bad)
"I bought this mainly for youtube videos and random stuff, and it works great. I've only used it indoors so far, but it makes very good indoor videos.
The software comes directly on the device, so you can just plug in the built-on usb and install the software right away."

"My husband bought me this for Mother's day to capture all of the special moments of our 5 mos. old son. We have a larger handheld camera but never seem to pull it out because of the hassle. This one is wonderful! It is incredibly easy to use, extremely clear picture, and great sound. It is small and convenient to use and carry with us wherever we go. I absolutely love it! It is a must for new parents! :) I wouldn't use it for taping far away things, but for up close I don't think it can be beat. It downloads quickly with no extra cords or plugs and is very easy to email the clips. You can even capture pictures from the video. Super! Super!"

What's great about it: The flip video is so small I always have it with me. You don't have to run to find cables to plug it in to the computer

"This has been one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. This camera is geting more use than I expected because it is so easy to use and conviniently sized to go anywhere. I purchased this camera to record videos of my newborn son and I have multiple hours from every week thus far.
The only negative that I have found was that in a few videos I got some unplayable footage. This does seem to have resolved itself after downloading the updates for the camera."

"This little dandy camera was purchased for my 15 year old son for Christmas. It has to be one of the easiest and enjoyable gadget a kid could have. Press a button, take a video, and thats it. Plug it into the computer USB and upload in seconds. Holds 60 minutes of high quality videos. He uses it when snowboarding, making videos for you tube and what ever else he can think of. It is so easy and fun I have even brought to my younger daughters basketball games.I find using video cameras difficult and cumbersome, not this one!"
