For 20$ it is very good. You can make only triangular sandwiches in it.

What's great about it: If you want a simple sandwich press for pre-teens and teenagers
What's not so great: It is just a simple sandwich press
I purchased the grill thinking that it was more than a cute pressed sandwich grill. That is all that it is and as that - the price is fair. That is all that it does. Too bad it did not have more grilling capability. Even interchangeable sandwich molds would create additional value. It was my mistake in thinking a small appliance priced at under $20 would provide some of the benefits of a $100 grill. Thank you Best Buy for allowing me to obtain a refund. That is why you are my favorite electronics store.

What's great about it: Easy to use, awesome price
What's not so great: cheese leaks out the back
This sandwich grill is very easy to use. I love how simple it is. I do need to work on not overfilling my sandwiches as the melted cheese will sometimes tend to leak out the back of the grill.
Clean up for it is pretty easy too. I was able to use my usual dish scrubbie (for non-stick surfaces) to wipe it up and clean it.

What's great about it: It was cheap and it arrived quickly.
What's not so great: Everything else!
I love toasted sandwiches, I could live off them. Having gone without a toaster for a few years I decided to buy this one. Well I have done a load of experiments and this product totally fails at its job. If your sandwich has cheese in it, it melts out...everytime. I followed the recipes suggested exactly, weighing each ingredient. The only way to keep it in is to gently rest the lid on the bread....the cheese sometimes stays in, but then the sandwich is not sealed and falls about when you take it out. Toasted tuna....same thing. Chicken Mayo, same thing. You have to be so stingy on the ingredients to make this work (like 1 tbls of tuna mix for a whole sandwich!). Plus the bread plates don't fit any known brand of bread sold in my County! (trust me, I measured!) so if it seals at the top, the sides are open.
Then the clean up comes. For some reason it has been designed with nooks and crannies everywhere that fill up with gunk. It took me about 20 minutes to clean after each time, using sponges, paper towels and toothpicks. I still can't get it out of the coiled electrical thing at the back....that can't be bad right?
Overall a waste of time completely.

What's great about it: Cheap! Makes great sandwiches
What's not so great: Difficult to clean, lasted less than a year.
Non-removable griddles mean cheese and grease get into the gaps between the griddle and the plastic case, as well as pooling in the back, where the cable connects the top and bottom griddle. Cleanup is difficult and after a few months, it develops a bit of a smell as the uncleaned food sits and rots. Cleanup on the griddles is a snap because it is nonstick, but the plastic is significantly less nonstick. See attached picture for how much food gets inside the case after 9 months of light usage. Almost all of the cheese was stuck to the undersides of the griddle, between the plastic and metal and was nearly impossible to clean without removing the griddle. Also, it is difficult to capture, but the inside of the case is *coated* in grease--either from the butter used on the bread or grease from the melted cheese.
Mine lasted about 9 months before the thermostat melted (literally, half of it was a melted pool of plastic and scorched metal). The lights would come on, but the griddles will not heat up. Best buy would not take it back and told me to contact the manufacturer, who wanted me to mail it back--on my dime--for a replacement. Shipping would have cost almost as much as the unit was worth, so I dismantled it and found the aforementioned thermostat.
When it worked, it worked really well, but between the melted thermostat and the difficulty in cleaning make it a waste. But for $20, I really should not have expected anything more. This would be a great college appliance--throw it away at the end of the year and buy a new one the next year. Otherwise, I would not really recommend this to anyone else.

What's great about it: Poetic in simplicity, quick, low maintenance.
What's not so great: some parts are hard to clean.
This product is great, first thing I made was of course a grilled cheese sandwhich, I just sprayed some pam in the grill and put in my sandwhich and it was amazing, the endges get sealed off perfectly to give you a pouch of great melted cheese, and I made omlettes in it that turned out great, and I stuck an omlette INSIDE my sandwhich and made my own home brew egg McSandwhich, it was great.
only downside is that the part right behind the trey is difficult to clean. other then that it's amazing.
