I never should have purchased this product. It worked great for awhile, but something has gone wrong with it and it doesn't work anymore. I am stuck without a printer, and plan to take it back to the store next week.
What's not so great: It doesn't print anymore. It's loaded with paper, new ink cartridges, all testing has been done, but it has stopped.

This printer has really served me well for what i have used it for. Some people do not like the slow speed of this printer; i think these people are caught in the everyday rush of life. For the few months i have had it, i could not find out, for the life of me, the "draft" option or the "black and white" option. It simply scans great, copies great, and prints great. I would definately recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a low-price, good-quality printer.
Even though this printer doesn't shoot out paper after paper with great quality, it prints. There isn't much to say about the speed of it other than it is fast enough for me and should be speedy enough for the normal individual. I can also say that this should not be used for any kind of industrial use; even though its fast enough, it won't be able to get the job done if you are running late on a deadline of any sort. But despite its lacking capability to run at the speed of light, it will do the tasks it is told to do, no questions asked.
My biggest issue with this printer is that i cannot find the print draft or print in black and white function. It may be because of my lack of knowledge or it may be due to the program itself. This is a problem for me because i like to print things that contain color in black and white or draft to save on ink. If anyone knows how to do this on this particular printer, and if there is a way to let me know, please let me know!
My favorite feature of this product is that it is an all-in-one printer. it does anything that i need it to do and doesn't stop to think about it. The scanner works great, the copier works great, and should i mention, it prints great photos too. When compared to more higher end printers, one may notice that this printer lacks speed, but regardless, i think the printing quality compensates.
Overall, i believe this printer is very recommendable and no one should be displeased about its performance as much as they have complained about it in previous reviews. As does anything, it has its lacks; to be specific, it has its lacks in speed and the whole "black and white" thing. Despite that fact, compensation is made by the quality of the prints and of the printer itself. To answer the all important question, yes i would recommend this item to a friend.

Printer kept locking up and had to cut it off and on to get it working when it would lock up. Continued to have paper jams even though we use top grade paper

my kodak printer uses less ink and has better quality than my lexmark printer , but it is way slower

I am pleased with the price versus quality of the product. Ink prices are a plus. My only criticism is the flimsy paper tray fold up hinge. Mine has broken. Is there a replacement tray available?

I read some of the negative reviews that are listed here and almost decided not to buy this printer. I took a chance and it was worth it! It prints fast, it's accurate, no paper jams, etc.
One hint for Vista owners. There are updates for the drivers on this printer. You can get them from the Windows site. If your printer isn't working fast enough or you're having problems, it might be because you don't have Vista or you haven't gotten the updates. Once you get the newer drivers installed, it flies when it prints. Excellent product! GREAT price!
What's great about it: fast, paper doesn't jam, uses very little ink

Bought this printer in 02/09, I needed a printer for photos as well as normal daily printing. I have never had a problem, and it is used daily. My sister had the more expensive model that they sold on tv, she had problems with the print head, do not use refilled or cartridges other than Kodak and you won't have a problem with it. BTW Kodak replaced the printhead on my sisters printer for free, it worked just like new with the replacement. This printer is a good deal for a low price, and it does as advertised, if you are not getting good results you can call their help line and they are really good at solving printing issues.I've owned Canon, HP and Epson printers in the past, I found their replacement cartridges to be very expensive, the Kodak does what is advertised to do, I have been able to print over 100 4X6 photos with fresh ink cartridges and still had more than a 1/4 full when done. I scrapbook and scan and print original photos with this printer also.
What's great about it: Ink is cheap, photos are of descent quality
What's not so great: Nothing I can think of

Since purchasing this product a little over a year ago, I had only used it a few times, and only to print documents. A few weeks ago I tried using it to scan and print photos and was extremely disappointed. The prints and copies turned out pixelated and the colors were washed out. Scans were equally washed out and the images distorted even though the print size was still the same. On the prints, using the Kodak "Perfect Touch" technology to auto adjust the brightness, contrast, etc. made the images worse instead of better.
Beyond the poor quality of the photos and scans, the ink that was supposed to last twice as long as comparable brands' inks actually ran out in half the time.
I would definately not suggest this product to anyone needing to print photos. This is a huge let down from Kodak.
What's great about it: It's good if you're only using it for printing documents
What's not so great: Printing/Copying photos, Scanning anything

Do not buy this printer. If you do the math, you will actually pay more as compared to HP Printers, Canon and Epson.
The ink for this model is only $9.99 but the quantity is half as compared to the other injet ink. In the long run, you will end up paying more for the ink. Plus the hassle of changing the ink cartridge in the middle of a print out.
If you want a big expensive paper weight, this is the one.
Do yourself a favor, search for other printers.

What's not so great: Everything!

I am a college student on a budget, purchased the Kodak printer believing their advertisement on "ink savings." To my dismay I proved them wrong. I recently purchased a brand new color ink cartridge and got about six grey scale minimal-ink required images, and now I need a new cartridge, it is telling me.
Extremely frustrating, I would definitely not recommend it to anyone esp. college students, beware. I honestly would recommend and HP! My roommate has one and I have been fortunate to use it.
What's great about it: when it works, it works (but not often)
What's not so great: the ink cartridges

I bought this printer September last year. Three months later I had to have the printerhead replaced. The color was awful and not correct.
Two months ago I had the printer replaced and the printerhead - still had the same issues of printing quality - not to mention - all the paper waisted on the jams and bad prints an all the hours I can't bill my clients due to "technical" issues.

I purchased this printer a little over 8 months ago, and now I'm looking for another. Its noisy and uses way to much ink. It's noisy enough to wake the kids who sleep through the washer and dryer. I also have to clean the print heads before it will print anything, thus MORE ink is used than should be. I go through color ink just as often as black (even though I print mostly BLACK documents), because I have to clean the print head so much. Until Kodak fixes the issues with this printer, this and the rest of their printers should be avoided.
What's great about it: Concept
What's not so great: Bad design or poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I recently bought my fifth set of b/w and color cartridges and I haven't even owned this printer for a year. I have had nothing but trouble with this printer. It will not print anything black. I became so frustrated with trying to get this printer to work, that I went out and bought an HP P1006 laser printer and got rid of the KODAK.
The HP is fantastic and only cost $99!
Kodak's customer support also stinks. Don't fall for the cheap cartridge game.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Runs out of ink quickly (even when only used to print documents)

This is the worst printer I have ever purchased. I have to manually feed the paper through the printer one at a time. Other wise if you have a normal stack of paper in the printer, it either pulls all of it through at one time OR it says its empty. This is the most annoying printer! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT!

Like many others, I bought this printer because it was fairly cheap and Kodak had the least expensive ink. I guess you get what you pay for! I've been using (struggling with) this for about a year now and it has been horrible. The printhead needed to be replaced within a month of buying it. The print quality has been below average, that is, when I'm even able to get a successful print.
It wastes tons of ink...the final straw came tonight when I was trying to print some E-tickets in Black & White. It warned me that the color cartridge was low when I started and after printing 6 BLACK & WHITE pages, the color cartridge was empty. Even though I'm printing in B&W, it won't let me continue because the color cartridge is empty. Why in the world does it waste my color ink when I specifically requested to print in B&W?! Now I'm stuck with a 75% full Black ink cartridge and no way of using it to print. I'll be buying a new printer rather than wasting any more time or money on this piece of trash!
What's great about it: Cheap Ink
What's not so great: Everything Else...Poor print quality, Ink doesn't last, too noisy

I bought this from Best Buy (not blaming them) when I purchased a new computer in 2008. Hooked up easily; however, after using it a few times (my printing needs are very slight); I had to call customer service who at that time sent me a free replacement printhead. After that; I kept getting messages that the ink level in the color was low..even after I put in a new one. Thinking that the cartridge was defective, I returned it to the store and got a new one. Printer never recognized new cartridge and now I can't print in just black. I'm going to replace that hunk of junk with a more reputable brand and will be more than happy to pay extra for ink.
What's great about it: It's nice looking & not big
What's not so great: Short life of ink; just a throw away printer

I have never written a product review before and feel this time I must to discourage anyone from buying this product. We bought this printer because of the less expensive ink, because we weren't going to be needing to print frequently. Many reasons to NOT BUY including: the ink is cheaper but does not last long, I have replaced the print head twice, the customer service reps are very difficult to understand, I was on the phone with them for 2.5 hours and it still was not resolved, quality of copy and photos not what it should be, and it is very noisy. The user manual and online support was not very helpful. Wish I could still return it.

What's not so great: almost everything
