Near Flawless Gaming System11/18/2007

What's great about it: Avail. HDMI, Exclusive Games, Wireless What's not so great: Freezes, Too many accessories to purchase
"A must have for true gamers. The Pro now has the option of HDMI which broadens the gaming experience. Only has a 20gb hd which is enough for me but the Elite is available for those with money to spend. Accessories for the 360 will cost an arm and a leg to get everything you want. Everything from rechargable batteries to the Xbox live subscription. There is also the issue with freezing. Which for me was minor and rare on certain games. But just recently shut down on me for good with the Red Ring of Death. But I purchased the BB Replacement Warranty and upgraded to an Elite. Overall a great system and still comes very recommended despite the issues. The BB Warranty is a must and be prepared for the accumulated cost of accessories."

"PS3 IS THE NEXT GENERATION GAME SYSTEM AND EVEN THOUGH IT DOES NOT HAVE AS MANY GAMES AS 360 YET.....IT WILL. TEH 360 HAS OK GRAPHICS BUT IF YOU DONT HAVE AND HD TV THERE IS NO POINT TO GET THE 360. BASICALLY THE 360 WILL BE OBSILITE IN ABOUT A YEAR.. PS3 IS SO MUCH BETTER"

What's great about it: Newer chip set, HDMI port, and the free games What's not so great: Very loud
"Got the "Xbox 360 Pro Bundle" in Mira Mesa (92126) with the HDMI port and two free games. It is Lot 737 and the MFR Date is 9-13-2007. BB and Xbox's support line both assured me that this console has the Falcon chip set, so I went with that. Still makes quite a bit of noise but there is some peace of mind to having the newer hardware."

What's great about it: wireless controllers, great games, great graphics, lasting appeal! What's not so great: LOTS of accessories to buy, expensive games
"Overall, the Xbox 360 is pretty amazing. I've always been a Playstation guy and when the original Xbox was introduced, I said I'd never get one. Well I was wrong. After all the bad things I've heard about PS3 and the outrageous price, I cracked and picked up the 360. You get $90 worth of games with this bundle so that's a great addition. I actually haven't played either of them because I've been playing FIFA 08 ever since I bought the console 2 weeks ago. You shouldn't worry about having problems with the 360 because buying the extended care plan should be automatic for you and that covers everything. Think about it. You drop $350 on the system, $50 for an extra controller, $60 for each game, additional memory, and whatever elso you buy for the thing. $60 for an extended warranty is definitely worth it. I don't have a lot of free time to begin with but whenever I do, I'm playing my Xbox. And wouldn't you know it, my girlfriend approves of the purchase. She plays it more than I do. Definitely worth buying."

"i got the system last year as a Christmas gift, and exactly 10 months later, i am having problems with it. If a disk is put into the system, it will make a noise as if the disk is having trouble spinning straight, [it sounds like it is wobbling while it is spinning] and the xbox 360 will tell me that i need to put the disc in an xbox 360. If this doesnt happen, it will freeze up in the middle of a game. i really am not too happy..."

"Microsoft did thier homework with this 360, because the graphics look great even without an HDtv. There are tons of accessories that you can buy. xbox live is probably the best online entity because you can buy games, movies, tv shows, and you can download free demos of new games. Some things i don't like is that half of my xbox games don't work on the new 360, so they kinda make you buy the 360 versions, and some of the accessories like controllers, hard drives, etc. are really expensive."

"I just bought my first Xbox 360 last week after owning a Playstation 2 since they came out and it is wonderful! I can't get over how dynamic it is. I got it almost exclusively for games but it does so much more. You can download your whole music library onto the hard drive and listen to what you want while playing a game. Pictures from a digital camera aren't a problem and can be set as your dashboard background (the dashboard is the screen you view when the console is turned on). But be careful, moving the console while a disc is running can damage the disc. Games are so much better quality than those for other systems, and the selection is great. I wouldn't buy anything else."

"Being a ps2 fanboy, I never thought I was going to buy a xbox 360 but then decision had to make and I picked xbox 360 simply because the game I wanted was on both ps3 and 360. The 360 was/is obviously cheaper than ps3 and making it much more attractive to general consumers. I only use a game console for one purpose and that is to play games. I don't really care about being able to watch blu-ray dvd's or not. I think Sony failed as they jacked up the ps3 prices by forcing the blu-ray technology into the game console. They should have done it as an addon. With HD-DVD players prices continue to go down, I think the 360 is a wiser buy. My only complain is the 360 gets very noisy when it's on. Most people get the "red ring of death" and their 360's just die out of the blue. It hasn't happened to mine yet but I'm waiting for it to happen."

What's great about it: Graphics, media capabilities, game selection What's not so great: Potential hardware issues
"I managed to get my hands a 360 on Christmas Eve 2005 (a month after it launched). If I would have had kids I would have been the saviour! This thing is really an amazing all-around unit. I use it obviously to play the best selection of games out there but I also use the built in media center features as well. I have a computer in the house running Media Center Edition with a cable card installed. I'm then able to stream the recorded tv shows from that computer to my living room without the need of a tivo or cable provided DVR (saves a few bucks). I also use to stream pictures and music to the living room when company comes over. I love this thing.
Only down side is that it's no secret it runs loud, runs hot and is prone to hardware issues. I had the three red rings of light (death) and had to send it to Microsoft for repair. While it sucked not having the console around, Microsoft had it back to me within a couple weeks and free of charge too! I really can't complain. They extended the warranty to three years so I'm still very much happy."

"This systems is a huge disappointment, save your money and buy a PS3. This system has a high failure rate, you have to fight with xbox customer service on getting it repaired, they want to go thru hours and hours of quick fixes, knowing that they have problems, they should automatically take these systems back no questions asked. If you buy one, buy the extended warranty and pray you don't get the red ring of death."

"This is the best video game console that has every came out. Graphics are stunning and the games are very fun. This xbox now comes with an hdmi port so I would really consider looking at this one rather than the elite. The only thing that sucks is getting the accesories."

"The 360 is a very good product. For one it has a ton of games out for it. Compared to the ps3 and wii, this has the best library of games. The xbox live is great and one of the main freatures for the system. the only thing that sucks is you have to pay for it, the ps3 its free. It works best with other mircosoft products like the zune. Overall this is a good system and is the best one out there right now."

"The 360 is an amazing console considering price (as compared to competition), playability, online action and downloads, among other major functions. I am in the military, and being stationed overseas, this is a good way for me to kind of do something with friends and family back home. Granted, the online with the PS3 is free, and you pay for xbox live, don't forget that you get what you pay for. The online on 360 way surpasses that of the PS3. The BEST function of the 360 is achievment points because it makes you want to be amazing at the game so that you can complete all of the objectives and up your gamerscore continuously. The Xbox360 is a good console if you want to have fun, if you don't really like fun, then buy a PS3!!"

"The Xbox 360 has superior graphics and 3rd party support compared the Wii. It has more games and a far better online community than the PS3. Maybe someday the PS3 will have games, or maybe it will turn into the Neo-Geo - that system that everyone was amazed by but nobody had because it cost too much. . I love the wireless controllers that can turn the 360 on or off without leaving your couch. Now that is convenience. . The Xbox Live feature is a must have. You can add people you meet in games to your friend list and the list is quite detailed. You can see what games they are playing now and what they have played ever. This can easily lead into discussions like, "hey I see you are playing Gears of War - how is that?" You can also send invites to your friends so that they can join your game instead of trying to find you in a lobby. Friends you meet can help you if you are having trouble with a game and you can share tips and strategies or vs. each other. Xbox live let's you see a friends only leaderboard plus a global leaderboard because after all, that's what you really care about - how much you're crushing your friends! . The achievement system that rewards you for completing milestones in a game is highly addictive although not comprehensible to most who have never played a game on the 360. I like it because it gives proof that you did something so now we don't have to go by word of mouth. The achievements encourage people to try the game on the hardest difficulty setting, which they probably wouldn't have done otherwise. It greatly increases the replay value for some games, especially the multiplayer ones. . Problems with the system: A lot of people complain that they get the "red ring of death". I have never gotten this but I think it has to do with playing too much and overheating the system or putting the 360 inside a cabinet where it has very little ventilation. My advice, get the best buy warranty so you can get it replaced with no questions asked. Immediate replacement is better than waiting for repair."

"Xbox 360 has many great features. in comparison to other systems like Ps3 xbox has great quality and graphics. Xbox 360 currently is the most popular system especially with Halo 3. Xbox live is great and gives you a chance to compete against others via internet. one downfall with the 360 is unlike the other systems internet cost money. Ps3 and Wii offer free communication with others but 360 is monthly payments or yearly paments depending on your choice. Xbox 360 has the most varied game selection and best types of games due to its popularity. Like Halo3 and Gears of war. Many Ps3 games are also becoming compatible with the 360. With the 360 at 350 dollars right now it is a good deal. If that is too steep then xbox offers the less meomory and space version that is about 230. And if you want the full xbox 360 expirence the elite is about 450. It is a great system for gaming and controling and storing data. I know that I would rather have a system with HD that works then a cheap blueray like what is in Ps3 that has problems and doesnt give the same quality."
