What's great about it: Great graphics, Media Center, Wireless controllers,
What's not so great: Not enough young kids games
"I originally bought the Xbox instead of PS3 because of its ability to act as a media center where I can view my home movies and pictures on our big screen TV. I hadn't bought a gaming system since Nintendo 64 so it had been a while.
The media center functionality works great. It was very easy to setup.
I've got a HD television and the graphics this system delivers are incredible. My only problem is the lack of games appropriate for my 6 year old son."

What's great about it: Great graphics...
What's not so great: Some hardware issues from factory...
"I received the Pro for my birthday about four weeks ago. My father has had one since last Christmas and I have played on both consoles pretty religiously. My father has just recently made use of the Best Buy warranty to replace his console for the red ring of death problem which supposedly has to do with bad soldering. I have yet to have such a problem, but I did also get the warranty for the console, something I highly recommend given that returning an Xbox to Microsoft will leave you console free for about 4-6 weeks.
The graphics on the console are amazing, and I plan to eventually get a 1080p HDTV so as to get themost out of games like Halo 3 and Gears of War.
I believe this to be a very serviceable gaming console given the wide variety of games and the recent price reduction of the Pro from 399 to 349.
Overall, a great buy."

What's great about it: The features and capabilities
What's not so great: The size and weight of not only the console but the cords as well
"The 360 is a necessary addition to any gamer's collection, but I still feel kinda sick after giving so much money to Microsoft.
The system itself is very sleek. The interface is nice and easy to understand. The graphics are incredible. But, altogether, it's not very portable. And there aren't a lot of games out there for people who don't only play WWII fighters....."

"The Xbox 360 is the best console out there. It has HD gaming which is great and the best. Xbox is Microsoft better than sony it has been awesome and it has been good selling this system. If your going to buy it you should get it and get one of the best games Gears of War. The features on it are cool its Xbox live,Windows Media Connect, HD,Hard Drive,Up to 4 Players,Xbox Dashboarf(view everything up to videos,music,and games) the best system out there. It even got gamerscore every game you play you will earn game points. You can even download demos from Xbox Live into your system and thats why this system is the best."

What's great about it: Tons of titles, online gameplay ,great graphiocs strong support
What's not so great: need hdmi version to get 180p
"Have owned this console sence launch and have played almost 100 games. I have had no problems with my unit. if you have an hd tv with an hdmi i would make shure to get an xbox that has an hdmi. All elites and halo versions have hdmi and some of the pros will also have hdmi."

What's great about it: Graphic is as lucid as water
What's not so great: During online play, the console freezes at times.
"I bought this gaming console solely for online games like Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. As of today, I have yet own a X-Box 360 game. I have this console for over two months now. The graphic is truly amazing. If you are planning to buy a X-Box 360, prepare to spend a lot of money. The accessories are not cheap. If you wish to play online games with other folks, you will need to pay a membership. If you need an extra wireless controller, it is about fifty bucks. The wireless headset is about sixty-dollars. Still, it's worth the cost."

What's great about it: Great games
What's not so great: Hardware failure
"I got mine on Launch day in 2006. Yes if died on me but MS replaced it in less than two weeks and all has been well since. The games for the 360 are spectacular. The best thing about this round of Xbox is that MS is putting out games for children so it is now appealing to a larger market instead of just to the hard core gamers.
If you get the 360 for nothing more than Halo 3 your money will be well spent. Bungie and MS have outdone their selves."

What's great about it: Keeps my husband occupied for hours! LOL
What's not so great: Red Ring of Death
"I bought this machine for my husband for Christmas 2006, he already had Playstation 2, but nothing compares to the graphics and extras that comes with this machine. I went ahead and put up an additional $39.95 for the 2 year replacement warranty when purchasing. Well worth it! Recently had problem with games freezing (he plays this thing EVERYDAY! lol) Started with half red/half green ring, froze, then all red and wouldn't turn back on. I pulled out my replacement warranty papers and followed the directions online, printed out a pre paid shipping label (be sure to save the box so you can return with everything that came with it.) As soon as they receive it they will mail out a vochure (includes the total you paid plus all tax, must have the receipt and replacement warranty form). You can then go to Best Buy and buy whatever you want. Of course we will get a new XBOX 360 again to include the replacement warranty! lol So no fear of the Red Ring of Death, when you get a new free one in return! Luckily he had the Playstation 2 to play while he was waiting for his vochure! lol"

"THIS IS THE greatest console ever to be made. NOT ONLY DOES IT HAVE THE BIGGEST TITLES ON THE MARKET, but it provides xbox live, GREAT graphics, AND SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH MORE!!!!!!!!. I would recomend this console over the wii and ps3. If your a person who likes downloading a TON of stuff go ahead and get the elite otherwise don't spend all that money. JUST GET THIS. IT's PERFECT other than the hardware which may crash or as many refer to it as the ring of fire. BUT microsoft delivers another for free and my friend got it in 10 days. A+++++++++++++++++++"

What's not so great: System is a tiny bit loud when it runs.
"Wondersul system, absolutely wonderful!!! I have had no problems with my Xbox 360. The only thing I dislike about it is that it makes a loud noise when it is running, but that isn't a problem when you put it in an entertainment center, and it is behind glass doors. Would I recommend this to a friend?...ahhhh...HECK YES!!!"

What's great about it: when it works, it's a good system
What's not so great: The batteries don't last long in the wireless controller and alot of x-box systems have been getting the red ring.
"It's not worth the money. I got one about 2 years ago and now when you turn it on, a red ring apears on the front of the system. It then say's there are enternal problems and to send it back to be fixed. With the red ring it want play anything. Also when you put new double A batteries in the controller it will last only about 30 minutes until it dies."

"I purchased this unit for my son. He plays nearly 24/7. His first unit did have to be sent in the "ring of death" but MS sent him a brand new unit and the wait time was only 10 days. With the new 3 year warranty and this excellent gaming system (great as a media center too) you cannot go wrong"

"this console is wonderful. yes its pricey but it is very well worth it. Online gaming is a blast. The XBOX Live Marketplace is fun. It's light weight easy to connect. the wireless controllers are amazing. the games on this console are beyong anything else. I would recoomend this to anyone."
