What's not so great: Red Ring Of Death

"this is the best investment i have ever had, from a psp to this was great my friend told me it was better than a wii or ps3 so i bought one and got 4 games. its really awesome, go buy one today!"

"its a real great system but the only thing is that it heats up i had to send my xbox back 2 times but other then thats its a great item. I guess i got the 3 red rings cuz i played it too much but that hasnt happend since the last time i sent it in."

"The technology issues with XBOX 360 are absolutely incomprehensible. The level of quality used in the hardware of my unit suggest it did not undergo any quality assurance testing, which seems ridiculous for the amount charged for the hardware unit.
Every time I start mine, I curse the XBOX manufacturers for such a lousy piece of hardware. The trouble Ive had is that it runs for a little while, and then freezes up randomly/often during use. Ive ensured it is placed in an open area to allow air flow and cooling but that doesnt help. Every now and then I get a red band around the start button which has been quoted as an issue with 360, but it isnt consistent. Othertimes it just freezes. As a result, the behavior is difficult to reproduce. But every time it shows - maybe twice out of five times - I am left with no option but to abandon a session and reboot. Sometimes a reboot helps; other times it doesnt. Ive called customer support but my past experience (three phone calls) with them has made me lose all confidence with the phone support.
I plan to send my hardware back to manufacturer with a one-way ticket. I dont want this hardware in my home.
I understand that this hardware was proposed as an entertainment system. Not only did my unit not have any entertainment value for me, it has led to enough frustration on enough ocassions, that it represents a depressing icon of my gaming room. My unit has spoilt many a family ocassions where we wished to enjoy together, but instead were spent in woeful exchange of criticisms of the hardware and its manufacturer."

"I've only owned the xbox 360 for a month and within that time it freezes up on me nonstop, deletes content without me even knowing it. The controller is totally unresponsive have to press whatever button i need to press too many times until it does what i need it to do. the analog sticks don't work right. The xbox 360 is only good for a really expensive paper weight."

What's great about it: Just about everything you want in a console.
What's not so great: Sometimes freezes up while playing original Xbox games

"I am soo happy I bought a 360, I bought it originally because i loved the Halo franchise, and, well, I got a little overboard with games and got assasins creed, Lego Star Wars ( for my sis) and a bunch of other games. I have had it for a year and have only had the red rings of death once ( the power went out while I was playing). All I had to do was bang on it and turn it back on. = )
I LOVE MY 360!"

What's not so great: dont come with a blue ray player

"i love my 360 ive had it for almost a year never had a problem all though i did buy a cooling fan wen i first bought it so that may of helped i can play it for hours and it wont over heat. the only thing i wish it came with is a blue ray player but o well but its an awsome system and i love. also because of everything you can download."

What's great about it: Easy to use, Fun Built in Games, Download Capable, Four Controller Connectable
What's not so great: None

"This amazing gaming system (in my opinion) comes in first before the Wii. Music can be downloaded onto this system if you want to hear your favorite songs during your game playing. This system also has built in games that you can play right when you get the system. The systems mobile shape gives it the opportunity to be either laid down or stood up. The unique wide "U" shape also catches the attention of all viewers. When I first played on this system I was amazed at all the things that this system can do and I was extremely happy with it. This system is definitely worth anyone's purchase."

Requires frequent repairs 08/19/2008

"I am a very unhappy customer! I purchased a new system and a few games. Within 30 days there were problems with the system loading games. At first it was a minor problem but quickly grew to a point where the games would not load at all. I was surprised when trying to get a replacement to find that Xbox/Microsoft would only pay to ship the system and have it repaired. I complained but the only option was to send the system in for repair.
Aside from some additional issues with the shipping, I was assured the system would be repaired and then I would be satisfied with the system. I received the system back from repair around July 4-6 . Again, the system worked fine for a few weeks, then the problem occurred again. Once again, I was presented only one solution....mail the system for reapir and be without the system for 2-3 weeks!
Given the sum of money it costs for a system it is unreasonable to believe that Microsoft cannot build a quality system that will last.
How many times will the system have to be repaired before Xbox/Microsoft determines the system is a "bad" system and needs to be replaced?"

What's great about it: Great Games, Increadible graphics, No harware problems
What's not so great: nothin much

"I have had no problems with my xbox 360. It is great, get one. The Games are endless and so is the pleasure. Other people have reported problems such as overheating and "the RED RINGS" but i have had none of this. The HDMI output is great. I don't use it but plan to soon. The wireless techology is flawless. Great! Beats PS3 anyday!"
