What's great about it: Durability, Game Selection, Xbox Live, 3 year warranty
What's not so great: Overheating

"I bought my system on launch day and it has remained strong. The benefits outweigh the potential downfall of overheating in the xbox. My system has never been sent in for repairs and it has worked flawlessly. If you want a system for great games and an excellent online system then get the Xbox 360."

What's great about it: Powerful Graphics, Great Games, Easy to use interface
What's not so great: Some overheating issues though it depends on which 360 batch you buy

"Well the pros practically speak for themselves. I will be honest I did own a 2nd generation 360 (q3 2006) and it did fail on me towards the end of 2007 but this was because of a year and half of INTENSE gaming beyond what is normally acceptable therefore I was forced to purchase a new one however I must elaborate this was the user's fault for voiding the warranty and the fact that the first and second generation 360's had poor cooling ventilation. With the revamped 360 with HDMI however it is a sound investment when it comes down to games and it's quite futureproof despite what people are saying about it compared to the PS3 cell processor. The further drop in prices makes the 360 an even more tempting offer for anybody in lingo as whether to purchase this or the PS3. In the end it'll come down to what games you like and perhaps that Blue Ray player but I certainly don't buy my gaming systems to watch movies on them. That's the only advice I can give you if that's your main criteria."

"The Xbox 360 is so fun! It has GREAT Graphics (They are still good on a regular tv),has alot of games(and there fun ones too) and the Price went down which makes this a better deal. I would highly Recommend this to anyone."

What's great about it: Loads of games, Xbox Live, downloadable content!
What's not so great: Red Light of Death (after two years though, and it was free to repair)

"This has to be one of the best consoles I've every owned. Aside from the Red Ring of Death my 360 has worked flawlessly. When I did get the Red Ring of Death I contacted Microsoft and within three days I had my box to ship to Mircosoft, it was repaired, and returned to me within a week... and all of that was OUT OF WARRANTY.

The sheer amount of QUALITY games out there is amazing (unlike the PS3).

While the graphics are right behind the PS3, the quality of games make up for it. Why pay more for the PS3 for a handful of their exclusive games (which are no good) when you can get the 360?"

What's great about it: Lots of games and great graphics
What's not so great: games are generally $60, runs hot, sucks up power

"This is a great system and is the best bang for your buck. The game selection is great and it pretty much has every game that the PS3 has and the exclusives are better for the 360 IMO. Gears of War and Halo 3 vs what Resistence and Killzone 2 both ripoffs. There are some downsides like the power cord does get hot and the back of the system does sometimes as well. All systems do if you run them to long, but the 360 seems to get hot quicker."

"This is the basic system to have at home. If you are broke and can only afford one gaming console this is the basic one. I reccomend to save a couple of extra bucks and buy the one with the larger hard drive and hdmi output. Enjoy! You'll thank me later!"

"This is a solid compromise between the bare bones and high end systems. When I purchased it I was pleased to find everything I'd need to get started was included and installed.

The built in hard drive makes it a better value rather than buying a base system then adding one later."

"We purchased the X-Box 360 for Christmas. After approximately three to four months, the set began to overheat, then shut off, despite the cooling unit. We received excellent service through Best Buy when we contacted customer service for repair/replacement inquiries. Because we purchased the protection plan, we were able to replace the entire system in a timely fashion. It has been almost two years, and the system is working beautifully and providing hours of entertainment. Overall, we are very pleased with this product, and the customer service. I would recommend it without hesitation."

"I own several different gaming consoles, when it comes to gaming I think Xbox is on top, great game selection, online multiplayer action is easy and fun.

Aside from gaming this is a great entertainment system, it can connect wirelessly with your Windows Media Center PC or directories to stream music, pictures and video. Also the XBox Live Marketplace has a great deal of content including downloading/renting HD quality movies and with the announcement of streaming movies from Netflix this console just became that much better. Also has the fuction to connect to your Live Messenger contacts so you can text with someone while watching your favorite movie or playing a game.

For gaming and all around entertainment this is a great system to own."

The console to buy 07/22/2008

What's great about it: XBOX LIVE, Expandable memory, Windows media center and tons of accessories
What's not so great: Accessories can be pricey. Power cord is very bulky and gets hot.

"It is hard to decide which console to buy with the options available. My opinion is if you are not looking for the ultra interactive gaming experience (Wii) then go with the 360. The vision camera gives you the option to play some of the interactive games that they already have and those that are to come. A decent amount of games that were only for the Sony and Nintendo platforms are now available for the XBOX 360 and XBOX LIVE is a tried and true online gaming experience. I used to be a playstation fanboy but once I got my original XBOX I never went back and with the upcoming changes and additions to XBOX LIVE and upcoming games, the decision is a no brainer."

Best next-gen system in my opinion 07/22/2008

What's great about it: Best first and third party support, along with best online system
What's not so great: Not as good graphics as PS3

"I've had a 360 since its launch on a cold November a couple of years ago and have literally enjoyed and played it everyday since. A month in after I bought the first shipment of release systems from Microsoft I did get the 3 rings of death and had to get it repaired but besides haven't had any real complaints with the Xbox 360. (Microsoft with has long found and resolved the issues with the original Xbox 360 systems). Xbox Live is a must for any casual to hardcore gamer that buys the system. Makes the Wii's and PS3's online attempts look like a joke. Looks amazing on my 42" Sammy HDTV. Great line of games for everyone such as Halo 3, COD4, sports, etc. With the drop of price, there is no excuse not to pick one up."

What's not so great: small storage amount, periferals sold seperately, few playable xbox originals

"Microsoft's most recent console has plenty to offer for anyone. Not only does it feature near-perfect graphic quality in games, but it also has a flawless music interface. You can put any home mp3's on a thumb-drive or other external device and play them during ALL games. You can even use music and video from a PC using a media network interface. Xbox Live is also a great place to catch up on movies, trailers, game demos and online gaming. Through console updates, MS can also rework anything with the system, as they plan to release a fall update to make things far more user-friendly."
