What's great about it: Great graphics for a 2007 game and an all around, well put together game.
What's not so great: I've found no defects whatsoever
This game is probably one of my all time favorite games and when I discovered that it was made in late 2007 it just blew me away that a game made 2 years ago could be this good. I highly recommend this game to any one interested in world war 2 or any one that likes amazing flying games.

What's great about it: The ability to chose between using motion sensing or not.
What's not so great: A lot of take off's but few landings.
Since I like flight games I bought this. I found it to be fun for about 2 months off and on. I liked being able to use the motion sensing from my PS3 controller to actually "fly" the planes.
You have a lot of choices between different aircraft after you unlock them and other missions. You can fly a bi-plane all the way up to jets with after burners.
The game is good, the graphics are good but not great, They could have used more time to clean up the tree's and everything else. I often found broken lines in buildings, half drawn tree's and tanks and other vehicles that reminded me of the old Atari tank game.
You have a lot of chances to take off, including from aircraft carriers, but only a few times that you actually get to land the aircraft your in.

Blazing Angels 2 is the first flight simulator type game I've purchased in a long time. The missions are a lot of fun and most importantly the re-playability level is very high. The designers didn't waste time putting together a massive storyline, players can concentrate on different missions and non-stop action. Not the most realistic simulator out there (refilling ammo in-flight) but I'm still enjoying this one immensely after about 6 weeks of play.

Being a fan of UBI Soft's "Heroes of the Pacific," I knew that I had to try out Blazing Angels 2. My initial impression of the game was one of absolute amazement. The overall experience is one that is very fun, addicting, and highly original. The control scheme, a factor of extreme importance in flight games, is tight and very responsive. The graphics are crisp, smooth, and add another dimension to an already impressive game. There is nothing quite like engaging an entire squadron of Stukas over Red Square while witnessing the Soviet Army moving to engage the advancing N@zi army below you. You can actually see Russian civilians running for their lives--which makes you really feel like you are defending the city from the "Hun at the door." All of this occurs in a mostly silky smooth frame rate. The missions are quite challenging and require strategy as much skill to successfully complete. The missions are so intense that, on two separate occasions, I forgot to blink for long periods of time, which caused my contacts to dry out--resulting in me having to take them out. Though some have criticized the game for being too easy, this has not been the case in my experience. The missions are remarkably challenging and require you to experiment in your attempts to find the most efficient route to victory. You also have many optional quests to complete during a mission, like collecting all of the stunt icons or completing the mission in a record time. Flying in places as diverse as the brutal deserts of Egypt (with a nice view of the pyramids below you), to the arctic chaos of Moscow's Red Square, to the lush green mountains of China, the game does a nice job of transporting you to different locales and giving the player an impressive change of pace. Also, during each mission, you compete for prestige points, which you acquire by completing objectives and taking out enemy planes, tanks, buildings, etc. You can then use these points to purchase much needed upgrades for your planes. Prestige points, and the upgrades purchased with them, add a tremendous amount of depth to this fabulous game. As far as the story is concerned, I don't want to spoil it, but will tell you that the developers have obviously tried to make this game as different from the standard WWII game as possible. Though some have criticized the game for its lack of historical authenticity, I simply respond by saying that thought the game does not have any recreations of actual WWII air battles, that is not to say the missions available to the player are not based on actual historical events. Besides, the deliberately over-the-top missions may appeal to a new generation of gamers and inspire them to learn about the most important and influential conflict in human history: WWII. So, I don't buy into the historical criticism issue. The characters in the game are lively and many times offer the player a radically different interpretation of the same events. This is quite refreshing and gives a good dose of personality to the game. Bottomline: With 18 well-designed missions, immersive graphics, intense gameplay, over 50 real-life planes, and a storyline that (in my opinion) enhances the gaming experience, you would be hard-pressed to find a better WWII flight game on the market. NOTE: I haven't played the game online, nor do I plan to (I'm not an online gamer), so I have not reviewed that part of the game.

What's great about it: Great Graphics
What's not so great: Console flight simulators dont pale in comparison to computer simulators.
You know how these games are before you buy them. Its always the same boring thing over and over. Its always shoot this shoot that shoot here shoot there. Aces High 2 for the computer is by far the best WW2 simulator by far. It has maps that would take you 24 hours to fly from one side of a map to another, you have over 40 bases per side(there are 3 sides), over a 100 different planes, tanks, and warships to control. The object is to capture enemy bases and hold them to win the war, this often can take a day or weeks(its comparable to a game of chess except not boring). So it my opinion of blazin angels is it isnt even close to where the competition is. In my description of AH2 i left out some other cool stuff because this is supposed to be a review for BA2. In a nutshell just try this game i recomended you'll see the light and say wow that guy was right! Im that confident you will like it if you like ww2 simulators!

What's great about it: You can change planes, upgrade them and even take off of runways/aircraft carriers
What's not so great: Not enough of the really good stuff
To start, I should tell you that I'm not really into flight simulation type games. However, this game is an immense amount of fun to play. First off, you get to fly a ton of different WWII and futuristic planes. You can customize them and even upgrade their weapons, armor, etc. Controlling your wingmen is easy and even they are upgradeable.
In between some of the levels there is a cool comic book type segue that progresses that story, though it isn't that deep, but that's not really important. The bosses are huge and inventive and a lot of fun to fight. The maps are huge and there's lots of stuff to blow up and many ways to do so. It's just a blast. During some missions you even get to take off and land from a runway or an aircraft carrier, though I wish you did it more often as it adds an element of realism and diversity to the game.
All in all, if you like nice looking games that offer solid control and lots of things to blow up from the air, this is a great game to choose. And it's a bargain game. For the money, you get a lot of fun.

What's not so great: Nothing yet
This is coming from a guy who's last video game was a regular ol'e Playstation played on a tube TV. I recently entered the world of HD so I'm sure a lot of the "WOW" I am experiencing is simply getting caught up with the times, but I have to say this game has amazing scenery and flight action. I can't compare it to other flight simulators since I've never played another one, but the graphics and game play on my 52" 1080P is flat-out stunning. I bought the game last night and didn't want to stop playing. I can't wait to get home and jam on this game some more! It's a blast!

What's great about it: Fun missions, controls not too hard
What's not so great: Not enough missions
This game is fun and easy to play. You get to use a bunch of weaponry (machine guns, light/heavy cannons, seeker missles, TV guided missles, etc.). You can also change the skins of your planes which adds some personality to your fleet. Haven't played multiplayer yet, but I can see that being where people might spend the most time. The only drawback is that I wish there were more missions. It only took me (an average gamer) maybe 10 hours to beat the campaign mode and unlock all the planes. Because of other reviews for BA1, I didn't purchase, so can't compare to the first go around. If you liked "Heros of the Pacific" you'll like this one.

I love the gameplay of this one: super easy to learn compare to the first one, which is hard to operate your plane. Fan of Ace Combat should get this one! The button control response correctly to the position you want your plane to manuever. Very fun to play for novice to advanced.
