What's great about it: Online replay value still has people joining up, Rank system constantly gives you a goal.
What's not so great: It's a modern COD, not much you can expect outside of that.
I've had this game for a while now and had fallen off the review truck, so I figured I'd climb back on and review this gem. Not much needs to be said, intense online gameplay is wonderful, ranking and building personalized weapon/perk kits keeps me so enveloped in this game that I never stray far, when I rent a flop it's back to COD 4. Of course it is just all the old COD controls and style on a modern war campaign with new weapons and tricks. But it is still an incredibly fun and entertaining piece of game. If you've never played pick it up, you'll be glad you did. (I personally only recommend this game for Live players, the story is great fun but doesn't justify the price tag on this one, you've gotta be live to get the best outta this!)

What's great about it: The graphics are very good, and campaign is enjoyable
What's not so great: Multiplayer is just okay, another FPS nothing special
This game was a huge success especially compared to its predecessor COD3. This game has nothing which makes it special. It is another average FPS in my opinion.
Story:
Not much to the story. There is one campaign with two different stories. They eventually combine into one. Basically you are a trainee in the beginning and are called upon to investigate a ship which is carrying a bomb on it. You reach the ship and in the end narrowly escape before it sinks. I will not reveal anymore to the story.

Gameplay:
Not complicated, and simple controls. In multiplayer you can summon a GPS reveler after 3 kills in one life, an artillery strike after 5 kills in one life, and a helicopter after 7 kills in one life. Most guns in the game are automatic which can make it very simple or difficult.

What makes this game fun:
The only fun part is to go on multiplayer with your friends and kill the enemy team. Besides that this game i believe is not that fun.

Mainly this game is too similar to other FPS games and i would not recommend to anyone who does not have xbox live.

This is the best game ever, even better than Halo and Resistance. The graphics are perfect, and the story is so realistic. The best part is the online play, and the guns are cool too. The fifth one is already out, but you should still get this because they are 2 different types of games. GO GET THIS NOW!!!

Easily one of the best first person shooters out there. Its more tactical and fast paced than some other MS FPS. The campaign is great and the MP has tons of replay value.

What's great about it: This game is real easy to get used to
What's not so great: The game looks best on an HD source (Projector or TV) not all of us have these
The single player is in depth and addicting the missions are so closely weaved that the whole thing is allmost one mission. The multiplayer is real great the team deathmatch gameplay is always fun. The reasone difficluty is at a 4 is beacause its not to challengeing for your average gammer. Otherwise great buy exelent gift for the gammer in your faomily.

When I bought it I was just like well here's another game to my collection. Then I played it with my friend and I just wanted to thand Infinity ward personally. When I played online l met so many new friends and other new cool stuff. Its so cool I just got addicted. Then I needed money to buy something else so I sold without thinking of the fun I had before that. Now I wish I had money to Re Purchase it. I say go out and buy it with or without internet A.S.A.P!

Cod 4 is a great game better than halo 3 due to the graphics the customization of the guns and the multiplayer. The graphics are probably the best out besides gears of war and I cant wait for Cod WaW to come out cause thats suppose to be awesome.

What's great about it: fun game with great guns
What's not so great: a few glitches online
its a great game. when online: if you get 3 kills in a row you get a UAV recon. 5 kills you get an airstrike. 7 kills you get a helicopter. the guns are terrific, about 22 guns.

this is the best game i have ever played for xbox. live is the greatest and you can play for hours. th game play is good and is har when you get to hard. when you play with friends yo will enjoy the game more. but be warned you will never stop playing this game when you get it.

What's great about it: Realism, Graphics, game engine
What's not so great: occasional rude people on x-box live but this has been better lately
This is a top notch shooter, I can't really complain about much. The single player modes are insane and the story is really cool and the game engine is very accurate in single player and decent in multiplayer. The multiplayer is addictive and usually works very well. The gins and perks available really put this game in a legue of it's own, I have tried to find a game that comes near it and have yet to come close. The single player has a training mode that will get you started, and the rest is gravy. You can't go wrong with this game. Definately not for kids but it does carry a mature rating, Looks like COD WOW will be a little more gorry. 10/10
