What's great about it: great graphics,great realistic weapons and campain(like iraq),online is fun to play What's not so great: too many online glitches
"This was one of if not the best game i have ever played. It has a pretty good and challenging storyline and great online games. Realistic and detaled weapons and fun to play. A couple things though , i wish they would take out cheap perks like martaudom and juggernaut, they make playing online annoying somtimes and all it shows is you need extra help to do good. also there are too many glitches online. i know at least 2 or 3 on just about every map. all in all its an awsome game for modern war and i DEFFINATLY would reccomened buying it. its a great investment if you like shooters."

What's great about it: amazing gameplay online with equaly great graphics. the weapon system is phenomonaly realistic aswell as the gameplay. What's not so great: no guest on xbox live and no multiplayer campaign on live or on one xbox
"one of the best first person shooter games i have ever played. it has great graphics great gamepaly and just a overall good solid gaming engine that doesnt lag up or have glitches hardly ever. it delivers a great realism while still keeping it a video game. good solid story mode and the only thing i dont like about the game is that you cant bring guests in on xbox live and can not play multiplayer campaign on one xbox or over live."

"First off, this is possible the best multiplayer game I've played for the 360, easily beating the now overly-typical ultra-fast-paced sci-fi sprayfest that is Halo 3. While some games will be fast paced and full of frustrating players, once you've found the game mode you like best and figured out how easy it is to mute certain people, it's a pleasure. The level system is done in a way I've never seen, at least not in a multiplayer shooter, and Hardcore mode is incredibly intense with short, lethal firefights. Sadly, the game suffers from a few control difficulties. In the default control settings, pressing the right analog stick brings out your knife for a quick melee attack. This analog stick is also the one you use to turn and generally look around. Now, if you're like me, when you see the enemy approaching, you whip your view around to them. If you do that here, there's a chance you'll click that analog stick and whip out your knife, which while it hits instantly, it's almost 3/4 of a second before you get your gun back up, and by that time, he's put about seven rounds in you. Other than that, my only real complaint is the Singleplayer campaign, which is very...average.
I would recommend this game as a must-own for every 360 owner that enjoys shooters. With varied game modes, it has something for almost everyone."

What's great about it: Amazingly realistic What's not so great: Monochromatic color schemes
"The gameplay is fun, the mulitplayer far superior to Call of Duty 3. The weapons themselves are very realistic, to the point of each type of weapon having various recoil action. From experience, this is true to life. The 'iron sights' still exist but of course take advantage of the red dot scopes preavalent on modern weapons. My main complaint about this game is the monochromatic color schemes. Everything is a shade of green or grey, it's like watching the matrix with less color variation. I found that frustrating as eventually everything started blending together, which happens at night in real life as color vision in humans degrades with less light. The game was fun, but it takes from the school of thought of pouring resources into graphics and image to the point of having detail on things you never see or can't pay attention to. Gameplay works great, but the environment interaction needs some work. I would still by this hands down, don't take this as a negative review, i was impressed with the options and capabilities of this game. If you like first person shooters at all, you should buy this game hands down. Oh, as a plus, i liked how this game chose to avoid putting the setting in current countries we are present in. Rather than make the game political, the creaters made it about the game, which is always good. Buy this game, you won't regret it, and i'm sure with the right color tweaking and calibration on your HD sets, the monochromaticity won't be an issue."

"This game is one of the best war games for th xbox 360. The one player missions are great but the best part of the game is the multiplayer online. Online you can join your freinds and you can play side by side against other player from around the world or you can just jump into a random multiplayer game. You can unlock all kinds of cool weapons that you can use. You can also unclock speacial features that alow you to do all kinds of great things. This game has some of the best graphics that I have ever seen. This is one of the best multiplayer games out their today."

"This is one of the best games I have ever played. The campaign is great, because it isn't a one hour thing and you have several difficulties to choose from. They vary from beginner's level all the way to a level that the average gamer won't be able to accomplish in a few hours. However, the online is where this game is at. The ranking system is loved (and hated) by many. You have the ability to rank yourself up by getting points in games, along with completing certain "challenges" (which are done by doing certain tasks in online games). You unlock certain attachments and camo's only by completing the challenges, while you unlock guns by leveling up. Once a player hits level 55, they have the ability to stay there or "prestige" which is dropping back down to 1, resetting all the weapons and stuff, and getting a new symbol showing a person's skill (or pure obsession). Halo may be the game to play at a lan party, but when it comes to online play, this game wins hands down."

What's great about it: The online multiplayer is innovative and rich with content. What's not so great: The single player campaign is very short and you have to pay to play the multiplayer portion on xbox live.
"Call of Duty 4 is the third installment in the series from Infinity Ward. The series has moved away from its WWII roots and is now set in the present day. While the single player campaign is relatively short. (It only takes about 6 hours to complete.) The deep replay value of the online multiplayer will have you playing this game for many months to come. The graphics on this game are excellent. The story line is compelling and filled with surprises. Unlike many first person shooters, the game varies the action. In one level you actually get to bring the rain down on the enemies below with an AC-130 gunship or an attack hilicopter. The multiplayer is very easy to use and has a wide variety of maps and play modes available. The best and most innovative part of the multiplayer however is the new "perks" system which allows players to customize many aspects of their character to a degree which have not been seen before. If you enjoy first person shooters or are looking for a game that has a lot of replay value this is an excellent choice. I would highly recommend that you stop reading this and go out and get it."

"I am not going to talk too much about the single player, because that isn't what people have bought the game for. However, there is one level that I thought was the best level I have ever played in any game. It is called "All Ghillied Up", and you are sneaking through enemy territory in your Ghilly suit, picking off some enemies one by one, but in a stealthy fashion. The multiplayer is where you get your money's worth. You can party up with friends, or jump into a game by yourself. There are a whole bunch challenges, perks, guns, and upgrades that you can unlock as you play multiplayer. Those are all very fun to go for. Also, once you reach the top of their ranking system, there is the option for Prestige Mode, which takes away everything you have unlocked (except for all of your stats), and you start all over (which is actually pretty fun). In return, they give you a different rank icon, that people will recognize and respect. You can do Prestige Mode ten times, and you get a different rank icon each time. Overall, this is probably the best game on the XBOX 360, and worth every penny if you find multiplayer gaming fun."

What's great about it: Multiplayer leveling system, engaging and diverse single player campaign What's not so great: No splitscreen on XboxLive, or local network games
"To start, the visuals in this game are phenomenal: each character, the environments, the guns, explosions, gun fire, etc. The level that places you in control of the guns on an AC-130 gunship looks like you're playing through footage you would see on CNN. Second, I hope that all other developers of First Person Shooters take notes from the innovations that were made in Call of Duty 4. The multi player leveling system is incredibly addicting and drives you to play more. The game is consistently able to keep the carrot just far enough infront of you to keep things interesting. The perk system allows each player to custom design the strengths of their character: extra damage, more grenades, extra ammo, more health, invisible to radar, etc. Also, the weapon unlocking paradigm hits on the obsessive collector impulse in my heart. Long story short...GREAT GAME!!!!"

"This is a must have game, even if your not into First Person Shooters. Running at 60 fps constantly through out the whole game, you never miss a thing. Its a fast paced shooter that makes you feel like your really in the chaos of the battlefield. The detail and lighting graphics are amazing in this game, it sometimes makes you wanna stop and just look at the environments because there so well defined. There are many great shooters out there but none can compare to COD4. The multiplayer is where its at. With so many maps and different game styles, it gives every gamer a chance to find something they like. So if you dont own this game by now, get out there and buy it, then come on live and get owned .... =)"

"The developers of Call of Duty 4 thought of everything. The visuals, the sound effects, the reward and ranking systems- the developers did just about everything right to make a highly re-playable game. While the single player portion of the game is outstanding, the multi-player is where you'll spend your time burning the midnight oil trying to level up and acquire new weapons, challenges, and status. I would like to see in the next Call of Duty a reward system and a little longer playing time in the single player campaign. OUTSTANDING game!"

"Offline looks and feels great. They did a great job at making you think your in the game.
Online is where it's at. There are so many different things to do, you will not ever get bored. Ranking up your weapons and unlocking perks such as claymores and abilities gives you a feeling of accomplishing things.
Unbelievably good. Blew my expectations out of the water."

"This is a definite must buy for avid gamers. The game play is great... either as single player or online. The weapon selection is excellent. This game allows the gamer to also get an understanding of what is going on in the real world... with the use of real life scenarios.
