This TV is great. I would recommend it over the others in a heartbeat! I have not had any problems with it. Unlike some other makers I have owned.
What's great about it: Quality, size, and overall look
What's not so great: The light adjuster can get a bit annoying if your ambient light changes a lot
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Sharp Aquos is one of the best deals for your money when buying a LCD HDTV. I purchased mine about half a year ago and have been happy ever since. The only change I want no is a bigger Sharp Aqous LCD HDTV.
What's great about it: Great picture and ease of use.
What's not so great: None that I've found so far.

I'm on my 3rd set, took first 2 back b/c 1st had pixel out on day 1 and 2nd set had slight(hardly noticeable) but slight horizontal bars on the black screen and on grey screens. 3rd set has even more noticeable bars, very annoying once you know they are there. Very disappointed in Sharp, hope the next one works out, about to give up on Sharp all together. Need a better QA process. On the bright side, if you can look past the noise from the bars, picture quality is pretty "sharp".
What's great about it: good picture for most part
What's not so great: horizontal and vertical bars

Pure quality is what you are getting with this product. I have yet to see a Blu-ray or PS3 videogames on this baby but i look forward to it! The first day we turned to the HD channels we saw a football game... i couldn't believe how sharp it was! I can see the grass, the faces, the sweat and sometimes it seemed like it was there! We are using dvd upscaling and it looks great but i want to see Blu-ray so bad! It is my dads TV and he isn't looking into Blu-ray yet so until then! It has a neat feature that allows standard def. signals to be transmitted automtically in 4:3 ratio (with black bars on left and right). So if i tune into say channel 62 (not HD) it displays with the bars (which is good it doesn't look stretched), but when i tune into channel 416 (HD) it automatically switches to Widescreen. It is just a convenient feature. Even 480P looks good like when i use the Wii or Gamecube. Great TV. My cousin has a Huge 50 inch Sony LCD. I was playing wii on it and it looked horrible! The TV only looked good in 720P and higher! I have seen many HDTVs and this one is one of the best.
What's great about it: So clear and sharp that sometimes it's like you're looking through a window
What's not so great: Nuttin

I've had this TV a week before the superbowl. I bought it with a sharp blu-ray player. I installed it on the wall by my self, it is light enough for an average person to carry. The picture is excellent, even though I think the samsung plasma looks better, it's barely noticeable. I bought the LCD so I don't have to worry about burn in. I have a directv, blu-ray and computer hooked up to it. It's great having a 42" for a monitor. It has 3 HDMI inputs (2 @ the back and 1 @ the side). It could use one more @ the back.
What's great about it: Great Design and Picture
What's not so great: needs more HDMI input

This 42" LCD HDTV is a Great Value for your entertainment dollar. It is not that expensive for what you actually get in return. Since this is my first experience with an LCD TV of any type, I can only compare to what it looked like in the showroom and here in my home, along with some others I have seen at friends homes.
But I have to say the quality of picture, sound, the manufacturing, and overall appearance make this model one tough cookie to out do. However there is only one issue I have with the TV and it is that 1 of the 3 HDMI terminals is located too far out on the right hand side. I say that because if you use 'quality' HDMI cables, for which is almost a must these days with an HDTV, part of this cable will show making for a somewhat ugly appearance. Not a 'show stopper' by any means, but just 1 of my pet peaves for a 'clean' appearance. The picture quality to me is excellent, and very much on par with the price that you pay. It is not up into the HIGH quality of the higher priced Sony HDTV's, but if you don't have a hefty wallet, you will not be disappointed.
I would HIGHLY recommend this Sharp 42" HDTV for anyone that is looking for a somewhat inexpensive entertainment option.
What's great about it: Easy to Setup, Excellent Manual, REALLY Good Picture Quality & Value for your Money
What's not so great: One of the HDMI Locations

The pic quality is excellent, even using rabbit ears for antenna. Setup time took about 20 minutes. I currently have a 1080p upconverting player hooked up to it. The pic quality is very good, but nothing like the store display using blu-ray. Eventually I'll purchase one to get the most out of this HDTV.
What's great about it: Price, Picture quality, Easy of use, Features
What's not so great: Only 3 of the 4 holes lined up with the stand

I researched TVs for for several months and I decided on this Sharp model. I bought this TV about a month ago when it was on sale and received a free Sharp 1080P Blu-ray Player along with 8 free Blu-ray discs. The TV Rocks especially when watching HD with satellite. I used monster HDMI cables (this TV has 3 HDMI inputs) and the picture just blows me away! Buy this TV. I highly recommend it!

I purchased this TV 2/13/08. Great clairty with good built in sound. I've never had to turn the tv more than a quarter of the way up I dont think. Works great with xbox 360, blu ray, HD Satellite from directv, and upconvert dvd player. Out of all of the tv's best buy sales for this price range its by far the best. All my friends are jealous.
What's great about it: Spectacular Picture, 3 HDMI plus compontent, Thinner than most others. Looks good on basic stand it comes with.
What's not so great: Shows dust easy, not really a problem for me though I wipe it often.

may not be as nice in picture as the samsung LNT4081 series but then again which tv can compare to that?get it you won't be disappointed!
What's great about it: beautiful sleek cabinetry, slim design, best picture quality
What's not so great: Although sound could be better, still one of the best for a flat screen

This was my first HDTV purchase, but I, too, spent weeks researching, reading reviews, checking opinions,. and comparing specifications. I settled on the Aquos for a variety of reasons. First, nothing else in the price range had the amount of options that the Aquos offered. Secondly, I prefer the smaller frame around the screen. Many manufacturers could stand to improve in this area. Third, Best buy (And competitors) were offering a free Blu Ray player with the purchase. That pushed it over the top, as the Blu Ray player was a $499.99 value.
On opening the box, I was pleased to find ample documentation. I was expecting to have to make many adjustments to the color levels, as many of the reviews said the stock settings were inadequate. What I found was a gorgeous picture without making a single change.
Some reviewers claimed to have issues with banding, particularly in darker areas. I have yet to experience that problem at any time.
One thing I did notice was that the 42", 46", and 52" displays all have the same number of pixels. What this means is that in the 42" size, the density of pixels is higher, meaning a smoother picture (In my opinion). Its something to consider when looking at the larger displays.
All in all I couldn't be more pleased with my selection of the 42" Sharp Aquos display. I would absolutely reccommend it to anyone considering an HDTV purchase.
What's great about it: Great picture Quality! Best Value!
What's not so great: Locations of inputs requires longer cables than it should

This tv was my first HDTV purchase, but I spent weeks reviewing and searching for the perfect tv for me. I wanted something that looked good and that I could also plug my computer into. I have a PS3 and didn't want to have to worry too much about the picture "burn in" and found this tv. I have to say that Best Buy was the best price I found and I am glad that I looked here. The tv has been great. I have not had any problems yet and I would highly recommend this tv. A plasma tv might get you a little better picture, but the price is probably going to be a lot higher. I think the blu-rays look fantastic on this tv also. There are a lot of hdmi inputs. Although I think it would be great to have more, for the price, it was enough. Excellent quality in picture and just overall build of this tv. I am very happy with this product!
What's great about it: Easy to use, great picture quality, a lot of inputs
What's not so great: none that I can think of

I've had this Sharp Aquos 42" for almost a year now and its never given me any problems whatsoever. It has all the features you'd expect from modern HDTV. The image is awesome, the colors are bright and the motion is smooth. Playing games and watching movies in high definition on this TV is very cool, and the two HDMI ports (and the other inputs) make it easy to hook up to multiple gaming systems, dvd player, cable etc. The sound on the tv is good too, if you're using the on board speakers. The only cons are minor: 1) There is an annoying delay between changing channels that can get confusing sometimes. 2) The options for changing the picture, though comprehensive, can also be a little confusing. This isn't terrible, though because you really only set it up once, and leave it alone. Very happy with this purchase.
What's great about it: Great image, slick panel, full HD resolution
What's not so great: Minor delay when changing channels

I put off purchasing an HDTV because I was using rabbit ears for an antenna and I thought the experience would be disappointing at best until I got cable or dish. But when I recieved the flyier in the Sunday paper with the TV offer with a free Bluray Player I couldn't resist. The experince at Best Buy was great as all the personnel that I had contact with were helpful. They tried to sell me the extras like usual, but they did not push me when I said no, which I liked. I got the TV home by 6pm and my wife said, "Get it set up quick because I want to watch " American Idol " at 7. After opening the box, I assembled the stand using the 8 bolts provided. I was surprised to find they also provided me with the tool to do it. I had it on the stand in 20 minutes. Another few minutes I hooked up the power cable and the rabbit ear antenna( I should note that the antenna was a Phillips ampified antenna). By 6:30 I turned it on and followed the easy set up on the sceen selecting "Engish" and selecting "Antenna". The TV then Automatically went through and loaded the stations. Little did I know, the Tuner came up many more stations then I knew about. For one thing, there is a digital version of each analogue station. ie channel 4 the analogue, and channel 4.1 the digital. Then there is channel 4.2, an all weather station. Channel 10 had 10, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, and 10.4 all with different programs. By 6:40 I was ready to go. At 7 we all sat down and watched American Idol in HD. The picture was beautiful right out of the box. I sat there in awe, not believing what I was seeing. The picture was as good as in the store, and I was using rabbit ears. The experience got even better when I learned how to use the menu and make minor adjustments in sound and picture. Then I really got a blast when I hooked up the XBOX 360 and started to play Halo. Oh! MY!
Several weeks have gone by now and I am still in awe. I think the TV is extremely easy to use and has an absolutely great picture. Two other families that I know also purchased the same TV the few days after I purchased it. The only complaint I have is the base. It is shinny black plastic. It looks good but it collects dust. I think a rough, flat finish would have been better for cleaning purposes.
What's great about it: Intuitive, excellent picture, easy set up
What's not so great: Shinny plastic base

This was just what I was looking for! I needed the right accent to my "lounging" pleasure in my den. My projection tv was outdated and not very clear. I drove to a Best Buy just to see what was available. When I saw the Aquos 42" LCD, I fell in love. It is definitely worth the price, which I didn't know I could afford until I saw it, and it is the best HD experience, ever.

This is a great product. I've been very happy with this as my first LCD HDTV purchase. It's a great size and the design is beautiful. The display is very crisp and the sound is very clear. A few here have complained about the sound, but I think it is very good quality.
The only con I could have with this product is that it doesn't display blacks very well - especially watching a movie like '2001: A Space Odyssey' - but I realize that I might just not have the system set up optimally. This isn't necessarily a con in that case.
Very nice product!
What's great about it: great size, great sound, incredible display
What's not so great: issues with displaying black
