What's great about it: Crystal clear picture, vibrant colors, sleek design, slim, easy control panel
What's not so great: Owned 1.5 years and NONE so far
"Just it's look alone makes it stand out in a room. I spent hours and days researching for the best quality tv for my money. The AQUOS is it - no question about it. I like how it doesn't have much plastic around the frame of the screen like some other brands/models do. The design of the TV is just as important as the picture quality. When you're viewing movies or TV shows in 1080p, its like bringing the movie screen to your home. The quality is amazing! When I first saw the clarity of my local HD cable channels I was is beyond impressed! You could see every hair fiber and pore on a persons face! (not that you're looking for that, but you get the idea). Watching action scenes and the vibrant colors just validate your decision on this TV. Playing video games is equally impressive. It's a good thing there are a ton of input ports and different options. There is just something about jamming on a guitar or battling people on the most realistic picture out there! You can really get wrapped into it. All I have to say is that I want to get a smaller one for my kitchen and bedroom."

What's great about it: great picture
What's not so great: poor craftsmanship
"I purchased my Aquas flat screen on January 29,2008. Recently, i've been experiencing problems with it. After approximately 3 hours of use, the T.V. over heats and shuts off. It also makes a loud popping sound prior to shuttin off. It's only been five months and I already need a new television."

What's great about it: amazing colors
What's not so great: havn't found any cons
"I was ready to be disapointed when I hooked the TV set up in my house. I figured the sets on display in the showroom had some sort of special video playing that made the show look great. I have never been disapointed with this purchase!!! I had no idea my favorite TV shows could look so good. Even the remote control is intuitive. Also, sign up for the Sharp Aquos customer advantage program. I had questions about cables and hook ups. A REAL person answered my questions quickly and politely. I'm saving my money for another!!!"

What's not so great: TV does not have picture-in-picture

What's not so great: haven't found any yet

What's great about it: picture quality, contrast ratio, sleek design
What's not so great: basic cable channel picture quality
"I did a lot of research before buying a new HDTV. This Sharp 46 inch 1080p TV is an upgrade from my 42 inch 720p, to say the least. I had originally planned to buy a "bargain" brand full HDTV for around 1400 dollars, but after seeing this one in the store and reading the reviews on it, I was hooked. The picture is exceptional, especially on Blu-ray, and with a very good contrast ratio, the whites are as bright as can be. The only time the picture is bad is on basic cable channels (which I expected), but I do get some digital channels thanks to the built in digital tuner, and they look awesome. This TV has one of the sleekest designs out there in my opinion, with its piano black finish and beautifully curved speakers. Some people have said that this TV has poor sound quality, but I disagree. With the simulated surround sound turned on and the volume turned up, it sounds great, especially on the Blu-rays. The remote control is also very nice. It is well laid out and easy to use, and it has a glow-in-the-dark backlight button, so you don't have to fumble around with it in the dark. At regular price, this TV is a great buy, but on sale it is a no-brainer. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TV TO ANYONE LOOKING TO ENJOY THE BENEFITS OF FULL HD, JUST BE SURE AND GET A BLU-RAY PLAYER TO GO WITH IT TO EXPERIENCE HD THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED- 1080P!!!!"

What's great about it: 1080p, fastest refresh rate of all tv's, GREAT picture
What's not so great: no pc input
"I have used this tv without high definition signal and the picture is still great. It is even better with hd signal. Many people have complimented the picture and even thought we were getting hd signal when we were not. Our purchase of a Blu-ray player has allowed us to use this tv to the fullest. Because the tv is 1080p, along with the blu-ray player, the picture is awesome. I would really rather stay home and watch a movie on this tv than go to the movie theatre; that's how good the picture is!"

What's great about it: beautiful picture, easy to wall mount, plenty of inputs
What's not so great: none
"after months of reading reviews on all sorts of tv's this was by far the one for me. 1080p display makes xbox 360 and directv hd look amazing. I know hd channels are either 1080i or 720p but i can see the difference from my older 720p display, the standard def channels are decent enough and what I expect especially when channel surfing is when you really see the difference. I have the set top box connected via hdmi and also my xbox 360. with a 4 ms responce time there is such a clear picture during fast moving scenes and in sports i watched the nba all-star game over the weekend and was amazed. the colors are gourgous and very life like(after some tweeking of the settings). I still have an open hdmi input waiting for a blue ray player. this tv also looks very nice wall mounted and was very easy to mount, my girlfriend and I did the complete job from start to finish in under an hour. the sound quality is very good for standard tv speakers. you really cant expect too much more from speakers in tv that is only 3.75 inches thick. I am so glad I didnt jump the gun and buy the first tv i looked at. the research was well worth the time."

Excellent picture over FIOS

What's great about it: Excellent picture for high or low definition
What's not so great: remote control is flimsy with little functionality
"Upconvert capabilities work excellent. Some cheaper televisions distort low definition and create a pixelated view. I've had no such issues with the Sharp Aquos. It also 3 HDMI inputs, more than you'll probably ever need. The HD picture from using basic bunny ear antennas, not the HD-approved antennas many companies try to pitch, shows as good a picture as my FIOS HDMI input. This television has outright the best HDTV picture I have seen in a persons home (Bravia might be the best but I've only seen coupled with HD signal). The included remote control is waste of plastic. It is by far worse than the remote that came with my 1999 projection TV. Overall I'm completely satisfied, mainly because I have no need for another remote control."

What's great about it: size, picture quality, price, connections
What's not so great: sound quality
"This is an excellent TV. I've had mine for three months now and the picture is as good as the day I got it. I have everything HD hooked up to the TV and it's amazing. I would recommend hooking this up to a receiver with surround sound because the sound quality from the TV isn't the best. Other than that's it perfect."

What's great about it: Great TV for the value; Excellent picture, easy to set up
What's not so great: Base is not as sturdy as I would like
"The week before the Superbowl, I decided it was time to upgrade to the HD world. I went into the store looking at Sony and Samsung. On the suggestion of the clerk, I checked out this particular Sharp model. In side by side comaparisons on the tv wall, this model had the best picture hands-down. And I am a Sony Loyalist! The price was right, the picture is great, and it came with all the HD inputs I will ever need. We now have a Blu-ray player, HD cable, and a Wii hooked up to it and they all look great! The only downfall I see is the base could probably be a little wider. Other than that, I am VERY satisfied!"

What's great about it: 1080P ,4ms Response , 3HDMI inputs , etc
What's not so great: Availability , SD picture quality , no instruction to calibrate
"I like this 46" tv baught at 1399 on BF sale , but waited till end of Dec to get the TV . I have sedan which it would fit with out removing package . there itself i saved $100 compared to other models . I could lift the whole box single handed The instruction was simple to hook up the TV the quality od HD picture was great and Audio is ok . But when it comes to SD picture i see lot of pixels even thought i am sitting almost 10' away from TV . the sound was also very normal when it comes to Audio quality . so i am now in the market to buy good audio receiver . I would have appreciated having instruction to do calibration to avoid extraordinary fee charged by BB . compared to both sony 46V3000 model this model has 4ms response time , 3 hdmi i/p vs 8ms / 2hdmi Hope this helps"

Very Nice Great Picture and Sound

What's great about it: Overall look, size, weight. Cable hookups for hanging on wall
What's not so great: Dust attraction onto piano black finish
"The TV is good by itself. It is great hooked up to a Sharp Aquos Blu-ray player. The Aquos link between the 2 devices is time and space saver. It is awesome hooked up to a premier receiver such as Denon. The picture on True HD 1080P is awesome such as a Sharp Aquos Blu-ray player. A HD DVD player only puts out a 1080i transmission even though the HD DVD's may say 1080P does not mean that the player plays that. Very common mistake among consumers these days. Blu-ray is the only True HD 1080P players. The remote is easy. The setup is easy. I would recommend the geek squad setup for picture quality. If you tweek it you can truly mess the picture quality up. Sharp did place a restore default selection, but default is NOT close to what this TV can perform as, per quality. To gain best bang for buck, the picture setup is required. Fantastic TV with solid technology from a sturdy electronics company, especially based on thier LCD technology research and development department."

A lot of bang for your buck

What's great about it: 1080i-1080P (excellent picture quality)
What's not so great: Standard channels a little fuzzy.
"Did alot of research before purchasing this television. Always good to research the quality of your desired product at CNET, they give great insight. Once you have selected models to your specifications let the price surfing begin. In this case Best Buty and Sharp was the winner and of course so was I.
If money is an issue, as it is for most I highly reccommend this TV. The quality of this televisions far supersedes that of others at a much higher price. This is the thinnest and lightest televsion to which I purchased for 1299.00 at a price match.
A few things to consider. The regular cable picture/480P exibits a poor quality picture. This is a temporary issue as everthing will soon switch over to HD. Use caution if running HDMI through a receiver to your television. Depending on the receiver your picture quality could deminish through the transfer. Some of the older Pioneer Eilte models suffer this deficiency.
If you have purchased this televison for the small depth and light weight features take note. In 2008 and 2009 companies to include pioneer will be releasing televisons with depth as small as 8mm. I'm sure they will come with a hefty price tag."
