Good introductory MP3

What's great about it: Tiny, clips to clothing
What's not so great: Can't zero in on individual songs
"This is a cute little intro MP3 player. Especially useful if you don't mind having your songs 'shuffled' randomly. We've found it especially good for hands free exercising where we don't care what we listen to in any particular order. Tiny, so it could easily be lost or 'go through the wash'-could be an inexpensive good first player for a younger child."

What's great about it: Clips on to things, great for running, durable and convenient, good price
What's not so great: only 1GB
"I've had no problems with this iPod. It works great. It's really small and convenient. I run every now and then and having this to just clip on and go is easier than my iTouch. I just wish they sold the shuffles with more space."

What's great about it: It's small, yet carries a great sound. It's easy to operate.
What's not so great: The ear plugs, I purchased new more comfortable ones

Good affordable player

What's great about it: clips on, stays on, good control orientation, affordable
What's not so great: ear buds not good for movement
"I couldn't afford the larger iPod I wanted and went for the clip-on shuffle and I couldn't be happier with it. Easy to load, sync and use. Charges quickly and plays for a good long time. Clips onto your collar or sleeve etc easily and grips well. Control orientation is adjusted for looking down onto the controls (intuitive and functional). The only thing I didn't like were the ear buds. Maybe it is my ear, but one side kept falling out easily. I ended up buying a different earphone set up with ear loops, but I still love my iPod shuffle."

What's great about it: compact, lightweight, easy to use, adequate storage capacity
What's not so great: earphones could be better
"I purchased this item because I need music when I run. The shuffle is perfect because the built-in clip has a nice grip. I clip it on my shirt and it stays in place as I run. The product is user-friendly and straight forward. The absence of a screen is fine for its purposes. I bought the 2GB model to get double the song capacity. The small price difference was worth it to me. The only downside to this product is the earphones it comes with. They don't fit securely in my ears, and my fiance had the same complaint about his ipod's earphones. I bought better earphones separately. I believe if an MP3 player is going to come with earphones, they should be quality earphones. Overall, I am extremely happy with this product."

What's great about it: Lightweight, plenty of storage
What's not so great: No display, not compatable with bluetooth adapter
"I love the iPod shuffle's weight and ease of use. This model is great for running, but I also have a Nano and I have quit using my shuffle. What I like more about the Nano is that I can use wireless headphones with a Bluetooth adapter and they are not compatable with the shuffle. With 1GB of storage, there can be plenty of music for a long workout but I prefer no cords. This is a good purchase if you plan to use corded headphones anyway and don't want to dock it for music in a bedroom or similar area (most docks will work with the shuffle and a cord but you lose the ability to go to specific playlists on the display like the larger iPods). Overall, great buy- especially for the price."

"I travel and the size of the shuffle is great. Even with the recharger, everything can be put into a small travel bag. The price of the shuffle is also good. At least while traveling I do not have the worry of losing a more costly iPod."

Great for workouts

What's not so great: Not a lot of space, but it serves its purpose.
"I have an iPhone, but i do a lot of running and obviously don't want to use my phone, so I got the iPod shuffle. This is perfect because it's light and small so it doesn't get in the way, and although it doesn't hold a ton of songs, it holds enough to get through my workout. It doesn't have a display, so if you absolutely can't stand to not see what song is playing then you should get a mini, but this is great for people who have a playlist that can just play and you don't have to worry about it."

"I use my ipod shuffly mainly when I exercise. It is great for that use. It has a clip which I then attach it to my shirt. I listen to it everyday. I have all my songs on it. It can hold plenty of songs, more than you can listen to than in a few hours. I recommend this ipod for exercising!"

Great for the gym!

What's great about it: Perfect size for the gym, clips perfectly to workout clothes.
What's not so great: Hard to find songs if you have a lot on it.
"I love using this ipod at the gym, you clip it right onto your t-shirt, and don't have to worry if the machine has a place to put it or what you'll do with it while lifting. My only complaint would be if you have a lot a songs it can be hard to find the one you want. But for $50, it's so worth the price, and makes a great introduction to the world of ipods."

iPod Shuffle for Audio Programs

What's great about it: Very portable.
What's not so great: Loads slowly when used with USB 1.
"I use my shuffle exclusively for Podcasts. I load it up with 20 hours of free information programs every week. It's wonderful! I own a bigger, 40 Gig iPod, but that is too heavy to carry everywhere. The Shuffle snaps to my shirt like a tie clip. I have an external speaker, made by "Creative," that it plugs into when i don't want to use ear buds. Even with the speaker, it fits in the palm of my hand."

What's not so great: Tracks lose their numerical order
"I have been using my Shuffle for about 6 mos now. This unit was extremely simple to set up and use. The simplicity of operation makes this a good choice for those doing sports or exercising, but do not need to access a screen when doing so. The only controls are volume, track forward/reverse, random plan and standard play. You will not be able to directly access a specific album, but instead you will have to advance through all tracks to access a specific song. Still, it has its purpose which is more utility in nature. This unit is well made and will surely last."

What's great about it: Great small design makes it so even a 3 year old can use it.
What's not so great: Since it is a shuffle it has no screen to pick out your songs.
"Wow, for such a small little item you get more then I would ever think out of it. Isn't hard to use like some MP3 players. Great design features, comes in other colors and just works great attached to you pants or belt loop. You can even use it as a Flash drive to store info on and transfer to another computer."
