Highly trouble prone die easily

What's great about it: Small size
What's not so great: They break/die after only a few weeks!
"I have bought 4 of these in a year and a half. I work out daily and that's the only time it is used. The first lasted a year. For the convenience of having the small size when working out, I was ok with knowing they would only last a year. The 2nd only lasted 6 months. I got a replacement and that started shorting out after a month. The 4th is now doing the same after only a month also. I love the product (when it's working) but $80 is too expensive for something with the shelf life of a bic lighter. They problems experieced seemed to be maybe a short or something. First the problems start with them not cutting off when you switch the off button, after a while they stop playing while you're using them and you have to hit the play/pause button. This worsens until it does it all the time and you can't finish a song. Maybe it's my intense cardio or something, but, I can't believe it's just a fluke when it happens 4 times."

Not Worth The Money

What's great about it: nice sound; small size
What's not so great: Poor battery and support, iTunes propriety practices
"I purchased this model because I was attracted to the small size, sound quality, and affordability; plus I didn't need to store 1,000's of tunes. What a waste of my money and time! The battery failed within 8 weeks of operation. I obtained a refurbished model at no fiscal cost, although it did take much of my time. Then the refurbished replacement unit hosed up as well . . . enough is enough! Additionally, the iTunes business practices makes ownership much less rewarding. I really don't care to "rent" music. I'll avoid ALL iPod related items from now on. Question: Can you name anyone who still has their original iPod purchase?"

What's not so great: I loose it A LOT since it is so small!
"I love this iPod.
I have had it for one year and it hasn't stopped working.
It has really good sound!
The iPod shuffle is great if you just want to listen to songs.
If you want to upload photos, watch videos, and more then you just get the iPod Video! <3"

What's great about it: Size, durability
What's not so great: Price compared to similar PMP's
"The iPod shuffle is perfect for those on the go. It's not really ideal as a primary mp3 player unless you just don't listen to a lot of music because it only carries 1GB of memory, but is great as a secondary device. It's definitely one of the smallest players on the market and is built quite solid. It has a built in clip to attach to clothing while on the move so it's highly portable and comes with its own headphones. There is no screen to navigate your media which is different from the other current iPods, but with only 1GB of music it's not too difficult to find the song you're searching for. The price is a little steeper when compared to similar devices with the same or more memory, but that's typically the price afforded by an Apple product; that premium will buy you a slew of accessory and connectivity options.
The iPod shuffle won't hold a great deal of music, but it's perfectly suited for working out, having as a secondary player, or for those always on the move."

What's great about it: Holds more songs than I could ever ask for.
What's not so great: Worked for about 5 months and quit.
"I enjoyed my shuffle while it lasted. I received it as a Christmas present and it quit working in May. I don't think that was worth the money."

"Quit working after only 4 months! While it comes with a 1-year warranty, you have to pay $30 shipping to get a replacement. It was good while it lasted. However, 4 months is a pathetically short lifespan!"

"They can hold about 220 songs. They are small and convenient, but it's hard to find the song that you want. I would recommend it to people though. Very useful. Great gift for Christmas."

"In general a good player if you are looking for something light to use while exercising. Good battery life, clip on is great. Must power up computer to recharge unless you get a USB charger. Sound is o.k. but not as good as the bigger iPods."

"As a standalone MP3 player, this little thing is great. Holds plenty of songs, and the shuffle feature makes it seem like you have your own commercial free radio station, playing nothing but your favorite tunes. Unfortunately, there is no way to simply load your music on this without using iTunes, and iTunes requires QuickTime, so you have to install at least two Apple programs on your PC to make it work. Personally, I load the shuffle, then unistall iTunes/QuickTime until the next time I want to change the songs on my ipod (yes, I hate iTunes that much)."
