Bought this dryer on clearance and could not pass it up. Did not realize its real value until it was hooked up and operating. The features abound and the control panel makes it just about fool proof to operate. With so many options and cycles it could prove to be daunting to operate, but it isn't . The end of cycle chimes are very pleasant to hear. Clothes come out nice and dry and wrinkle free. The status display shows which phase is operating and how many minutes are left to completion. However, if the clothes dry faster, the time left updates. A huge tub handles blankets very easily. It will take a while to understand all these options and to apply them efficiently. The only negative so far is the noise from the gas burner(using propane) when it operates, it sounds like a blowtorch. It would be nice if it were a little quieter. Access to the "guts" of the dryer is more complicated. On top loaders, a front panel could be removed by removing two screws, on this one it requires quite a bit of disasembly to gain access. Overall, a very nice dryer.

What's not so great: Noisy gas operation

This dryer is amazing. It dries very fast and the fact that it has a digital timer to tell you when it will be finished is great.
What's great about it: Easy to use, quiet, lots of features, large
What's not so great: buzzer is not loud enough, lint filter is difficult to change

My husband and I purchased this dryer (along with the washing machine) after reading excellent reviews on consumer reports, and have been using it for about a year. This dryer has many drying cycles to choose from (heavy duty, cotton, permanent press, delicate, ultra delicate), as well as additonal custom options. However, when choosing the pre-set cycles, the sensor is supposed to detect when the clothes are dry & it doesn't. The clothes remain damp or wet, and I'm finding that I have to use 'custom program", where you choose your own time & heat setting, every time. The load also has to be pretty full, it will not dry only a few items. I'm also noticing that even when removing clothes immediately, they are wrinkled, and the 'wrinkle care' option doesn't help, the clothes stay wrinkled. Overall, this was a diappointing purchase for the price. I've also received info from a service repair person (who was fixing another appliance) that they have had many issues with LG, that the company is having trouble getting themselves together, the appliances aren't well made and are expensive to fix. I'll keep my fingers crossed that my washer & dryer last, but next time I will not be taking a chance on a newer company.

This product has failed to dry our clothes or get hot at all for half of the time we have owned it. It will work for a month or two and then stop working for a month or two. We had LG come and try to fix it when it was under warranty, but then it quit working 2 months later and they will not honor the fact that this was an 'ongoing' problem. Imagine a $1000 machine that does not do its primary function half the time. I will never buy another Lucky Goldstar product again!
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Does not dry clothes!

LP conversion pain

This is a great dryer. My only problem was that we use LP. I thought it would be an easy conversion but I was wrong. We had to special order the 1/2 piece and have it professionally installed. It cost us another $125. They had to take the whole dryer apart to get to the part. If I would have know that I would have bought the electric one since we have both hook ups.
What's great about it: Easy to use, lots of options
What's not so great: LP conversion

LG makes the best products, so I was not disappointed with the purchase of my LG washer and dryer. It has been great dryer. Dries fast, and has lots of choices of settings. I would recommend to anyone looking to buy a new dryer.
