What's great about it: The xbox graphics are very good.
What's not so great: Does not play xbox games

"No where in the description does it tell you that you can not play xbox games on the xbox arcade system. It tells you on the box but since I bought it online I did not see the box. You can buy a hard drive for it to play xbox games but then you might as well buy the elite system for $100 more. I was very disappointed and so was my son who received this as a Christmas gift. We had to return it the next day for an elite system (which still does not play all xbox games). I guess it is my fault for not knowing but it should be in the description as well."

What's great about it: Great for my 7 year old son

"This was actually the 2nd 360 we have purchased. The first one we bought when they first came out. This particular XBox was for our son for Christmas from Santa and he was beside himself with excitment when he woke up and saw it. I also just purchased another one for my husband because the older ones don't have the HDMI connection on them. Needless to say we LOVE the 360's in this house."

What's great about it: Graphics - library - online community - movies - last fm. - Facebook - Twitter - Other hundred features
What's not so great: RROD (Red Ring of Death caused by a fault in the console). if this didn't exist, the console would be flawless.

"First off, take the best amount of care you can of your Xbox 360 once you buy it. It has many flaws that can be very random and unforeseen. There are many different errors including over-heating, GPU-failure, HDD-failure and disc-drive errors. Be as gentle with it as possible, keep off of carpet always (it has very fast-working fans that would basically suck up any particles on the carpet.) Give it at least 1/2 foot of surrounding area to help it get the air it needs and make sure the temp. in your house is NOT above 80 and you will most likely avoid any over-heating problem. If your console ever freezes or feels really hot and you start getting worried, don't. Buy a TS (temp. smart) intercooler. The TS intercooler Is nothing like the awful EX-intercooler that would melt and sink in to consoles and ruin the mother-board. The TS-intercooler has it's own cord for an external power-source and VERY fast fans that will suck hot air out of the console... and that's it. No melt-downs, no flaws, it seriously is a good intercooler. It helps, don't believe me, even check its ratings on Amazon, Wal-Mart, or here. To be honest this Arcade was my second console. It lasted til now (a full year) even though I was dumb and hit it really hard after getting FURIOUS with Left 4 Dead... like twice probably (loosening the GPU) giving me the RROD 4 months later. My first console was the 20GB launch. It didn't last long. I forget how long. I took better care of it than this but didn't have an intercooler for it. My old console had this Arcade console's same error called the E-74 error (caused by a GPU-failure). In some cases, the E-74 error is caused just by the AV-cables. Buy a new AV-cable to see if that was just the problem. If it wasn't, send your console into Microsoft.
Just be aware of the Xbox 360's problems and know how to take care of it before you buy one and it will last you a great amount of time, and if not... the Xbox 360 is covered by a 3-year-warranty. Send it into Microsoft for repairs if it breaks and they will send you a refurbished console that will last a couple of weeks.
To be honest, even though it totaled me up to $600 for this and the 20GB console, it was well worth it. A year of Xbox for $200 to me was well worth it. i spent around 8 hours a day the past week before this happened so that definitely helped it stop working. It's a much easier life than being a guy who needs a new phone ever 2 months, costing $500 each one (i know people). If my next console lasts at least 1 1/2 or so, I'll continue purchasing them. XBOX! NO ONE LIVES WITHOUT IT! YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT! YEAH!!!!!!!

What's great about it: Great price and great games!!!

"I recomend this system for anyone that can't afford the edition with the hard drive. You can save up and get the hard drive while you're playing great games watching movies and listening to music. My first game was WWE Smackdown VS Raw 08 with me being a wrestling fan and I tell you I hardly put my controller down. My next game I plan on getting the new Batman game and once I get the chance I'm going to the live arcade to get Marvel vs Capcom 2...So whether you're a new school gamer or you enjoy classic gaming, pick up an Xbox 360 Arcade or if you can afford it, a pro or elite, you will not regret it! "The XBOX 360 is a good console. I've used mine for a year and 7 months until it got the E-74 error: Hardware malfunction. It was a 2008 model. Which just happend 2 days ago."

"Its cool that the xbox arcade comes with a wireless remote finally because in the beginning it came with w/ a wired remote. The down side about it is that it doesn't have a hard drive on it, even though the memory card provides portability to saving your game it doesn't hold much."

What's great about it: Lowest price of any new gen. gaming machine
What's not so great: lacks many features needed for full experience

"We bought this for our son and within a week found out we needed to buy rechargeable batteries, wireless network adapter, and a hard drive in order to be able to use everything that the xbox360 "offered". replacing batteries every other day and running an ethernet wire through the house were just not options. looks like a great deal to get you in the door but then you end up spending more than you could have in order to play all the games."

"I have owned a Xbox 360 for a couple of years now, and its not bad of a system when it comes to gaming. The graphics are outstanding, the online play is great, and the selection of games are fantastic. Only have two cons about this system, first is you gotta pay to play online, the money Microsoft makes they charge for online, which is unfair in my opinion. The second is the red ring of death, when I re-bought this system, it broke down 7 months later, so I advise you get the warranty just in case. Other than that a solid gaming system to own."

"If you want to know if you have a jasper chipped xbox 360. make sure it says 12.1a after 12v near the serial number. you dont need to open the box just move the serial around a bit. The new arcades are jasper but to know for sure get the arcade with pacman game, I checked its jasper!!! =]"

What's great about it: has the games i love to play like halo
What's not so great: none that i can think of

"I baught the arcade version after the first xbox i had died it was the 1 gen 360's the ones with problems reason i gave it a 4 star not a 5 . After i baught this one so far so good had it for almost 2 years and no problems. And if you dont wanna spend the money for a wifi adapter you can always hook it up to your desktop/laptop and use it as a connection to internet.

steps is for laptop with vista might be similar for desktop

1 go to your network and sharing center by right clicking the little icon with two screens and little planet on the bottom right of your screen
2 make sure you set it so you share your files if you wanna watch movies on your tv through your xbox that you saved on your laptop
3 on the left side click on manage network connections
4 hold down left click and highlight local area connections and wireless network connections
5 right click wat you just highlighted and select bridge wait a few seconds for it to be done
6 connect ethernet cable to xbox 360 and laptop
7 go to xbox360 and setup for xbox live follow instrunctions and right down key

If you have movies on your laptop you can view them through your xbox on your tv just go to video library . But make sure file sharing is on not off which should be on if you did step 2 . I still cannt get media extender to play my movies throught it . i need to go to video library . ive tried reformatting it to mpeg and avi still wont play."

"I recently recieved this item around 7 months ago and I still love playing on it. First of all, the Xbox 360 arcade is sold at a fair price here at Best Buy. The Xbox 360 arcade can play over hundreds of games with outstanding graphics. There are also accessories such as Xbox LIVE membership cards, microsoft points, and the upcoming project natal which makes this console a must have. This new generation of gaming provides many features and if you would like to obtain them, the Xbox 360 arcade is the way to go."

easy to install.
my xbox drive broke so i was going to get it repaired. it was $150 to register for a repair(who knows how much the shipping would have been) so i just bought a 360 arcade. i already had all the upgraded cables like hdmi so i didnt need the pro or elite. i just needed the console. great deal.
it comes with the 5 arcade games too. 4/5 i love"

A++++"

What's great about it: good graphics easy to set up
What's not so great: everytime i get an achievement it says disc cannot be read

"This is a good system, very fun. I heard reviews that its not so great, but it is.
Only problem i have is that the game i got today (Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare) when i finished the first level (nikolai) it said unable to read disk and to clean it then restart game."

What's great about it: its a running xbox
What's not so great: you need to get a hard drive and mic anyway

"so about a month ago i bought my xbox 360. it was good at first but then i had to buy a harddrive.. then i had to buy an xbox live card.. then i had to buy a mic to talk to my friends. so overall i spent the same amount of money as if i were to have gone pro. so GO PRO!!!! by the way no one buys the arcade so i got the ring of death in two weeks. and sega tennis sucks."
