What's not so great: hardware problems,no hard drive

"Hey guys I'm thinking about getting one of these basic systems. I bought a pro system like a year ago and in August I got the ring of death. I didn't get the additional warranty from the store which was a mistake but lucky for me it was still barely under the manufacture's warranty. I shipped it off in like late August and I'm STILL in the repair process. As you can imagine a dude in college could really enjoy having his xbox right now so I'm starting to get impatient haha. I'm thinking about buying this system and just using my hard drive and HD cables that I still have from my old one. I don't know :/"

What's great about it: The only thing good about this is the price
What's not so great: the terrible thing about this is that you cant save any games and if you have a HD tv it doesnt even come with HD cables

"The only good thing about this arcade bundle is that it is cheaper than the other ones. But there are the bad parts of it being cheap. It doesn't let you save games. It doesn't come with HD compatible cables. I would tell you all that just only $50 more that you get a tons better deal. Just go with the 20 GB xbox 360
because that actually comes with all of the stuff plus HD cables and it lets you save games and more."

What's not so great: Hard drive not included, wireless adapter not included

"When I brought this 360 home I was not even able to play the game I purchased for my daughter, what's up with that??? Had to go to gamestop and buy a 20gb hard drive then was able to play!!! This machine sounds like it's about to take-off on a runway cause it's so loud. I hate it and will be going back to the store.
P.S. Also, you have to pay for on-line game play, now what's really up with that!!!!!"

"The XBOX 360 is a great system. The games and graphics and features are awesome. The only problem I have with them is they build up heat and they fail and give you the red ring of death. I'm already on my 3rd 360. But at least microsoft has a 3 year extended warranty on them. would also avoid the arcade or any without a harddrive as it will leave you always having a hard time saving and downloading which you will be doing a lot on this system."

What's great about it: Great games, great graphics, online play is amazing.
What's not so great: Red Ring of Death

"I bought a 360 as soon as they came out, which if you have heard the first 360s have had numerous problems. I've had some problems with the system reading brand new games or games without a scrath, but it could also be related to my brother moving the 360 from a vertical position to a horizontal position while he was playing it....I hate him. Anyway I already have several great games for it like COD4, Gears of War, Halo 3,.... and Gears of War 2, Left for Dead, and I have my eyes on the new Batman: Arkham Asylum game coming out in 2009. I think I'm going to have to buy another one just for the games. I think the 360 has the best games for teenagers and adults out of the top three consoles now (360, PS3, and Wii) I'm ticked off that I have to buy another console when I could be using the money towards the games I want for it, but I guess I can always rely on Christmas presents."

"Xbox Arcade version is a great buy for your money. Excellent performance and graphics. Best all around gaming and online gaming management. If you buy this one, right now (10/08) if you go to the microsoft website, you can register your xbox360 and submit the info to get a 20gig hard drive for only $20.00! This is cheaper than buying the 360pro. Once you get hooked on xbox360, you wont be dissapointed."

What's great about it: It's an Xbox 360, Graphics, Cool Arcade Content, Beating Games gives you Achviement Points
What's not so great: NO HARD DRIVE, minor cooling fan issues

"Personally, I would not buy this console bundle. It does not come with a hard drive, making it a poor deal for long term gamers. If you plan to have this a while and buy 10+ games for it over 3-4 years, having no hard drive kinda' defeats the purpous of having games. If you can't save, you can't get achievments... Without a Hard Drive you also can't get xboxlive... On Xbox Live, you can download new demos for games, game trailers, get extra content and even rent netflix movies and watch them on your 360.

If you had to pick one of the three next gen consoles, you'd pick a 360. Yes, the PS3 has an amazing graphics system and yes Wii bowling is better than cow-tipping but the 360 has the perfect balance + many extras. Now, the developer of the 360 says it could handle the PS3's Metal Gear Solid 4. That is saying something... So Graphics are covered, if you want to get an idea, go check out some screenshots for games. If you ask a hardcore gamer which console is best for families, they might say the Wii. I'd agree, but the 360 doesn't fall short. The only reason I can think of that might say the 360 isn't as suited for kids iis because it has games like Halo 3 and Gears of War. Yes, I'd also agree that those games, being exclusive to the 360, make the 360 seem more like an adult gamer type console. Not a big deal, you've got loads of sports games, racing and your good old action adventure. The 360 has more games out on its' console than Wii and PS3 combined... Now, Halo 3 and Gears of War are not bad things. They represent the playability of the console. It's games, like Halo and Gears, pull out the hidden potential. You won't meet a lot of people buying 360's to not play Halo 3. Halo 3 sold 3.3 million copies of the game in 1 month, only counting $60 copies, that's $198,000,000 in one month. Some people went out and bought 360's just to own this game. That is how great the game is, how great the 360 is and badly you should want a 360. Xbox Live is a great part of the 360 community. You can play online with your friends and even play with people from around the world. The 360 is the best choice for hardcore gamers and little ones..."

What's great about it: TONS of Great Games, Xbox Live Arcade, Movies, Streaming, Friends
What's not so great: Not the most reliable. Red Rings of Death a possibility.

"This is the best video game console ever made, if you ask me. A lot of users get the "Red Rings of Death," which means your console is dead and needs to be replaced, but aside from that issue, this thing is near perfect.

You can stream music and movies from your PC
You can download many fun "Arcade" games
You have a ton of great retail games to choose from

It's the center of my entertainment experience."

What's great about it: Would have been good if it didn't break down right away.
What's not so great: Too many to count.

"I purchased my 360 second hand, and the guy I bought it off of had never had any problems with the system. I had it for a couple of months before it got the 'Red Ring of Death', which is pretty much the 'Death' of your 360 if you ever get it. I read that 30% of the 360's in stores all break down eventually, and to send it in and have to wait for 6 weeks or so to wait for it to get sent back to you is a waste of your time. I'm currently saving up for a Playstation 3 instead, because I'm not wasting another $200 on another Xbox that'll probably break down on me again!"

What's great about it: Good for Red Rings backup, cheap
What's not so great: No component cables, no hard drive

"Ok. So I bought this Xbox about 2 weeks ago and it is running greatly. It is a good backup if your original xbox got the red rings. I just hooked up my hard drive to it and it was like it was just like my old one. It is very cheap also. But if you are buying your first xbox I sujest the 20gb 60gb or 120gb models because you will not be able to hold many game saves. Great buy for backup!"

What's great about it: Cheapest Xbox 360
What's not so great: no HDD, no Headset

"This is my 2nd Xbox 360 I have bought, so it filled every need I had. If this is your first Xbox 360, beware. The memory card that comes with the system only has 256MB on it, not much room of anything. Can store your arcade saves, but thats about it. If you are looking for this to be the Startup of your 360 gameing experience, I would suggest getting the Pro package. It comes with a 60GB HDD that has more then enough room for all your saves, maps, and videos you want to save. It also comes with a handy headset for LIVE use and a Componet output plugins. But it is a solid system none the less"
