What's great about it: graphics and game play also very easy to upgrade

"wow!!! i bought dis game da friday after christmas and i got to say dat dis is a real cool system to start off with. you could also easily upgrade it becuz i jus bought a 20gb hardrive to download music. but other den dat the memory card holds pretty good memory and xbox live is da geatist ever... anywayz buy dis game and u wud be satisfied"

What's great about it: Great Deal, EASILY and CHEAPLY UPGRADED!!!!
What's not so great: nothing

"You can have the latest xbox hardware for way less than what you would pay for an elite or pro. You will get the latest processor and have onboard memory for $200. When you buy the arcade you are eligible to go online and order a 20gb HD and 3 months of Gold live membership for 30 BUCKS!!! I have also seen a refurbed wireless controller and 20gb HD combo for 40 bucks. Keep in mind there is a way to remove that 20 gb HD from the case and order a 120gb laptop drive and replace it with that if you feel inclined to do so for 45 bucks. In any case, you pay 200 for the xbox you go home and get on the xbox site, input your info, pay 30 bucks and 3 or 4 days later you have a hard drive and a live membership for a total of $230 + tax....not bad, and remember the drive is removable, if you get a little extra cash later on and you feel the need...buy a bigger drive."

"this is a great gaming system, but considering what you would spend to upgrade it, it would make alot more sense to just buy the pro. this has worked great for me so far tho. i wish i had been more patient and bought the pro, i just wanted this so bad lol"

What's great about it: No RROD (yet), Easy to upgrade, Contact with all my friends.
What's not so great: My internet connection....;)

"I love this thing so far! I've had nothing but good luck except for a bad rental of The Force Unleashed but that CD was totally messed up. I play Halo 3 live with all the friends i haven't talked to in months because of school. This will keep me in touch with my friends and brings wide entertainment and relaxation. But the best thing to do is to buy the arcade and then get the 60 gb HD Live Starter Pack. its a bit up there for a $100 but totally worth it. the live pack has an extra mic for the inevitable breaking by sitting of your first. It also has a 3 month live gold membership. WORTH IT. TRUST ME. and the RROD usually only happens when you have about 2 million add-on's hooked up to the sucker. Just dont play for the whole weekend and take a break to eat every now and then and the system will be fine."

"This does not come with a hard drive, but Microsoft realized that and you can order a 20gig hard drive and 3 months of xbox live for 20 bucks on xbox.com.
great deal, alot cheaper than the pro version, and you really don't need more than 20gigs of space unless you download a lot of movies and games, in which space you would need to download ALOT.

"The Arcade version is great but it needs more memory. Microsoft has a fix for that problem. Go to the Xbox website, there is a special offer for Arcade users - 20 gigs of memory + 3 free months of Xbox Live for $29.99. Also, they don't even charge for shipping."

What's not so great: Need a hard drive to play online with NXE,

"I would not buy this product again. It was great back when I bought it last year, because back then you didn't need a hard drive to game online. Now you do. Also, after purchasing the extra hard drive, the Pro console is cheaper. I would recommend you either save your money and buy a PS3 (my xbox arcade just got red ring of death) or save and get the Pro console rather than this arcade."

"I didn't realize when I bought the Arcade version that there's pretty much only enough memory on it to play like two games. I didn't think Xbox would create such a useless console. Well I was wrong. If you like to play more than 1 game, and like to play online, I'd suggest buying the pro or elite version. I wish I did."

What's great about it: theres no words, its just has so many games and everything
What's not so great: red rings of death, even though you can fix it for free if you have the warrenty

"i love this console, the game selection is just so awesome, and i come from ps3, have you ever gone to a family vidio or a blockbuster and thers only a row of ps3 games, well, with the x box 360 you have like a whole entire rooom full, i would deffinitly recommend it to a friend"

"Our two XBox 360s just broke within 8 hours of each other; these will be the 4th and 5th XBox returns for repair we have to make within the past 12 months. Forget all the game titles; don't bother with this system! Almost 1 in 2 customers will have to return the unit for repairs within 1 year, and many of the issues do not result in the 3 rings of death, so you will have to pay $99 for the repair, and then you get a refurbished XBox 360, which means you get someone else's problem unit."

"This 360 is great. It play any 360 games and it works like a pro. The new arcade like the one made in October and now have a built in memory card unlike the old arcade that uses a 256 mb memory card. The built in memory has 256 mb. I have a arcade and a pro and the pro gets hot quicker than the arcade. If you have a 360. i suggest you lay the 360 horizonally because at the bottom of it, it sucks in air and if you have a small fan, let it blow into the bottom of the 360. It keeps the 360 cool. and thats how you avoid the 3 rings of death."

"I got a 360 in 07, and it is probably the best console i've ever played. Great game selection, great online community, and its greatest advantage would have to be that it's accessible to everyone. However, it does have some technical issues, AKA, the red ring of death; a general failure of the system. It's probably the most irritating thing i've ever had the misfortune of dealing with- 5 times. other than that, it's a wonderful system, and I would recommend it, as well as a warranty for it."

What's great about it: Stunning graphics...Red Ring of Death is perfectly Red.
What's not so great: All the great games you wont be able to play

"Will make this short. Bought Pro when it first came out. Overheated after a few months. I've had 5 consoles. I offered MS to pay for the repair(fix) of the problem of the Red Ring of Death, instead of getting a refurbished for free. They suggested to trade-in my console "broken" and buy their new elite unit. I was reluctant to do so. My wife decided to do just that for my B-day. Console number six lifespan consisted of console setup, network setup and the intro movie to Forza 2. about 1 hr and 15 min. I returned product (Store) and was offered without question a refund or credit.

Please I am not a Sony or Wii fan but DO NOT buy MS's Defective Design"

"Yah so i got my FIRST 360 back in 2006 and it worked for a long time then when it overheated (not rrod but froze) i sent it back got a new one and then repeated this till i got one that worked. now it's dead. So i uses some of my old gift cards got this one and it's benn fine ever since. I am going to mod this one with 2 small fans near the USB ports by the power button. one to blow air in the other to push it to the back. it'll keep it cool. to bad microsoft was to cheep to do this easy mod."

"My family is going on our 3rd Xbox360 console now. The original failed with the noted RROD (Red Ring of Death) that I will admit Microsoft was quick to handle by replacing with a refurbished model via the extended 3 year warranty they have for this type of failure. Unfortunately the refurbished model has disc read failures so now I'm getting a 3rd console from Microsoft (BTW the disc issue is NOT part of the extended warranty). Unfortunately this is actually fairly common with these consoles. My son does not have one friend that has an Xbox360 that did not have some type of hardware issue with the box. On top of that the design and noise of the unit is poor when compared to other gaming systems (including the original Xbox). As fun as some of the exclusive Xbox360 games are and as nice as the Xbox Live set up is (although you do pay for that), the chronic hardware issues really drop the value of this product in my experience."

"I bought my first xbox Nov. 22, 2005 - the release date. It broke down for the first time in June of 06. Since then, I have gone through 4 consoles but they keep sending me back more and more junk refurbished consoles. Instead of admitting that they have a flawed design, Microsoft simply extended the warranty for all consoles. Instead of recalling their faulty product, Microsoft makes the consumer suffer while watching their several hundred dollar investment flounder and break. Also a note; the second time my console broke it was misplaced on the way to the repair center. It took Microsoft 7 months to get me back a console. It is a terribly run organization and the product is probably more of a headache than it's worth."
