What's great about it: If you get this and a 60 gb hard drive it makes it a better deal than the pro
What's not so great: red ring of death

"Ill explain why I said If you get this and a 60 gb hard drive it makes it a better deal than the pro is because if you buy the 60 gb hard drive seprate the 60 gb hard drive gives you a headset*, 60 gb hard drive*, ethernet cable*, and 3 month xbox live gold subsription. the pro gives you a 1 month free gold membership trial, and 3 month xbox live gold subsription is better than a 1 month free trial.

"This is the console to get if you also had to deal with the red ring of death and Microsoft didn't help you out. It's also great for kids who aren't going to play enough to need a hard drive and the fact that it comes with games that cost quite a bit in the Marketplace is also pretty nice.
It doesn't come with the HD cable like the Pro and Elite do. So, if you are going to be playing on an HD television you are going to have to buy the cable separately."

What's great about it: Good price for people who are just looking for a good System
What's not so great: Just the memory-(you can always buy a hard drive)

"This system doesnt cost too much, it will go great under the tree, etc..
the only thing is the memory. I have the xbox elite and this xbox. The great part about this xbox is that 9.9 times out of 10 it wont get the 3 red rings."

What's great about it: The price
What's not so great: Comes with not so great games and not alot of memory

"The Arcade is just a 360 that has less memory then the Pro and Elite. If you are dying about buying a 360 just buy the Arcade. Then just buy the 120 hard drive if you want more memory for the system. The memory card the Arcade comes with have enough memory to save games, but if you want to put some songs on there and your going to download off of the Xbox Live Market Place then I advise you to buying the Pro or the Elite."

"GREAT SYSTEM!!!!!!!! But no hard drive or headset and no ethernet cable would not reccomend to 1st time users but would reccomend to people who hade a pro or elite and got the red rings and Microsoft wouldn't help but in all its affordable and comes with 6 GAMES ( the arcade games are alot of marketplace points if you buy them seperate)!!!!!!!!!!"

"this is a great gaming console especialy because of xbox live.when you buy this be sure to buy a 20 60 or 120gb hardrive because 256mb really isnt a lot of space especcialy if you are going to be playing xbox live because demos,music,ect take up a decent amount of space.this console has a huge variety of game so its fun for the whole family.another good thing about this console is that it can play cds,movies,ect but if u have blu ray dvds you have to buy a seperate blu ray driver.Overall this bundle is great although some of the arcade games that some with it arennt really fun in my oppinion.So if you are a casual gamer this is a perfect console for you.but for more serious hard-core gamers should go with the pro or elite consol"

"i just baught this today and so far its great, the only thing u need to worry about is Memory since it only comes with 256mb. i baught online a 150gb harddrive for $50 so im ready, so to me its a xbox360 pro, i would sudjest this to people who dont plan on plying online,and if u ar buy the pro or buy a hardrive. overall its great =]"

What's great about it: A REAL (non-toy) gaming system with the BEST online gaming available on any console!
What's not so great: PAST hardware issues (Red-Ring-of-Death)

"We've got 3 of these in our home. It's fun for the whole family, adults and kids alike. Virtually all my adult friends (even ex-PS3 owners) have Xbox360(s) now. The Xbox360 is the BEST gaming system for REAL gamers running REAL games with REAL controllers - no toy/gimmick motion controllers necessary. It's a GREAT console for single-player, but what I like the best is the World Class ONLINE gaming through XboxLive. Lots of GREAT Xbox360 titles this Christmas season as well. It's easy to add a hard-drive to this Arcade model later by just snapping it on in 5 seconds, no tools or any hardware knowledge required!

There have been hardware issues in the past with the Red-Ring-of-Death with the older Xbox360 models, but that's been fixed in the newer models and Microsoft extended the warranty for the older models to a full 3 years so it's FREE to get fixed for the first 3 years then $94 if out of warranty. My old 2.6 yr model got the RROD and I opened a ticket with Microsoft, they sent me a packing box with prepaid shipping label FREE and I sent it off and it came back within a week!

My 2nd Xbox360 I got from BestBuy with the BestBuy 24-month extended in-store swap-out coverage. I recommend that, it wasn't too expensive for the convenience. Everyone (even the neighbors) just loves playing on our Xbox360. It's quite addicting. A must have for every family!"

What's not so great: Comes with 6 dumb games.

"Ok, if you are new to the XBox 360, get this. It comes with a memory card, witch you can save games on, also, if you get the 60 gb hard drive starter pack from here, you get a 60 gb hard drive (comes with the XBox 360 Pro) and a headset ( comes with the XBox 360 Pro) and 3 months of XBox Live(Not included with the Pro)
Witch the 3 months of XBox live gold cost $40.00 And the hard drive pack only cost 100 dollars, so you save $40.00!!!"

"Hey guys I'm thinking about getting one of these basic systems. I bought a pro system like a year ago and in August I got the ring of death. I didn't get the additional warranty from the store which was a mistake but lucky for me it was still barely under the manufacture's warranty. I shipped it off in like late August and I'm STILL in the repair process. As you can imagine a dude in college could really enjoy having his xbox right now so I'm starting to get impatient haha. I'm thinking about buying this system and just using my hard drive and HD cables that I still have from my old one. I don't know :/"

What's not so great: the terrible thing about this is that you cant save any games and if you have a HD tv it doesnt even come with HD cables

"The only good thing about this arcade bundle is that it is cheaper than the other ones. But there are the bad parts of it being cheap. It doesn't let you save games. It doesn't come with HD compatible cables. I would tell you all that just only $50 more that you get a tons better deal. Just go with the 20 GB xbox 360
because that actually comes with all of the stuff plus HD cables and it lets you save games and more."

"When I brought this 360 home I was not even able to play the game I purchased for my daughter, what's up with that??? Had to go to gamestop and buy a 20gb hard drive then was able to play!!! This machine sounds like it's about to take-off on a runway cause it's so loud. I hate it and will be going back to the store.
P.S. Also, you have to pay for on-line game play, now what's really up with that!!!!!"

"The XBOX 360 is a great system. The games and graphics and features are awesome. The only problem I have with them is they build up heat and they fail and give you the red ring of death. I'm already on my 3rd 360. But at least microsoft has a 3 year extended warranty on them. would also avoid the arcade or any without a harddrive as it will leave you always having a hard time saving and downloading which you will be doing a lot on this system."

What's great about it: Great games, great graphics, online play is amazing.

"I bought a 360 as soon as they came out, which if you have heard the first 360s have had numerous problems. I've had some problems with the system reading brand new games or games without a scrath, but it could also be related to my brother moving the 360 from a vertical position to a horizontal position while he was playing it....I hate him. Anyway I already have several great games for it like COD4, Gears of War, Halo 3,.... and Gears of War 2, Left for Dead, and I have my eyes on the new Batman: Arkham Asylum game coming out in 2009. I think I'm going to have to buy another one just for the games. I think the 360 has the best games for teenagers and adults out of the top three consoles now (360, PS3, and Wii) I'm ticked off that I have to buy another console when I could be using the money towards the games I want for it, but I guess I can always rely on Christmas presents."

"Xbox Arcade version is a great buy for your money. Excellent performance and graphics. Best all around gaming and online gaming management. If you buy this one, right now (10/08) if you go to the microsoft website, you can register your xbox360 and submit the info to get a 20gig hard drive for only $20.00! This is cheaper than buying the 360pro. Once you get hooked on xbox360, you wont be dissapointed."

What's great about it: It's an Xbox 360, Graphics, Cool Arcade Content, Beating Games gives you Achviement Points
What's not so great: NO HARD DRIVE, minor cooling fan issues

"Personally, I would not buy this console bundle. It does not come with a hard drive, making it a poor deal for long term gamers. If you plan to have this a while and buy 10+ games for it over 3-4 years, having no hard drive kinda' defeats the purpous of having games. If you can't save, you can't get achievments... Without a Hard Drive you also can't get xboxlive... On Xbox Live, you can download new demos for games, game trailers, get extra content and even rent netflix movies and watch them on your 360.

If you had to pick one of the three next gen consoles, you'd pick a 360. Yes, the PS3 has an amazing graphics system and yes Wii bowling is better than cow-tipping but the 360 has the perfect balance + many extras. Now, the developer of the 360 says it could handle the PS3's Metal Gear Solid 4. That is saying something... So Graphics are covered, if you want to get an idea, go check out some screenshots for games. If you ask a hardcore gamer which console is best for families, they might say the Wii. I'd agree, but the 360 doesn't fall short. The only reason I can think of that might say the 360 isn't as suited for kids iis because it has games like Halo 3 and Gears of War. Yes, I'd also agree that those games, being exclusive to the 360, make the 360 seem more like an adult gamer type console. Not a big deal, you've got loads of sports games, racing and your good old action adventure. The 360 has more games out on its' console than Wii and PS3 combined... Now, Halo 3 and Gears of War are not bad things. They represent the playability of the console. It's games, like Halo and Gears, pull out the hidden potential. You won't meet a lot of people buying 360's to not play Halo 3. Halo 3 sold 3.3 million copies of the game in 1 month, only counting $60 copies, that's $198,000,000 in one month. Some people went out and bought 360's just to own this game. That is how great the game is, how great the 360 is and badly you should want a 360. Xbox Live is a great part of the 360 community. You can play online with your friends and even play with people from around the world. The 360 is the best choice for hardcore gamers and little ones..."
