"Kid Rock's new album isn't as revolutionary as the artist and title proclaim; yet it IS rather pleasing, and is indeed a bit maturer than much of Rock's previous work. The only hints of the rock/rap that will haunt him 'til the day he dies are found in "Sugar" and "Don't Tell Me U Love Me"--and even then, both songs stand testiment to the fact that Rock doesn't distinguish between musical boundaries. You have to respect him for that, if nothing else.
The album's strength, like it's two immediate predessecors, lies in its southern rock backbone. Nowhere is this more clear than on "All Summer Long," a melodical melding of Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" and Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" (the opening riff makes me wish Rock would record "Werewolves;" honestly, he would tear that song up--in a good way). The country blues of "New Orleans" (a co-write with the one and only David Allan Coe) is another joyous sing-along, and one of Rock's most enjoyable tunes in a long time. "Amen" gets a bit too serious, but it is still enjoyable; naturally, Rock makes controversial declarations like "God d*** it, I'm afraid to send my kids to church" and "Our nation's race relations got me feelin' guilty for bein' white." The stone-cold country of "Half Your Age" helps convey the songs hilarious--and scathing--message. "Blue Jeans and a Rosary" touches upon gospel vibes, as does the previously-mentioned "Amen." Even the title track, though lyrically unoriginal, is catchy and listenable.
To me, this is Kid Rock's third record. I know, he had a career before COCKY; but here we see a man evolving musically and lyrically. While he still isn't at the creative high he insists he is, Kid Rock has managed to transcend genres, and to create some truly memorable music. ROCK N ROLL JESUS is a great album, if only for the fact that you can't easily place it in one musical category. While I don't recommend worshipping Rock for that, I do suggest we pay him some respect, and lend him our ears. Preach on, brother."

What's great about it: Great mix of song styles. What's not so great: Nothing.
"I continue to be astounded by Kid Rock as a musician. He adapts to changing styles and genres, while still remaining true to his roots. This album is one of his best. Like any album, there are some songs I could live without, but they are minimal. Great album! I particuarly like She's half your age!"

What's great about it: KID ROCK ROCKS!! ALL SUMMER LONG SHOULD BE #1 What's not so great: I haven't found anything not great about this CD
"This CD is outstanding. Kid Rock continues to improve his music al the time. "All Summer Long" should be at the top of the charts. People who cut down this CD are confused, stated on the cover is: "PARENTAL ADVISORY EXPLICIT CONTENT" is there some part of that you don't understand? If you don't like it don't listen to it, Dr. Seuss is still available. This music is outstanding and original, KEEP IT COMING KID !!!!!"

What's great about it: none What's not so great: EVERYTHING!
"i hate to say it but this is by far the most disappointing CD i have EVER heard.and for two good reasons. Reason #1:the lyrics have no meaning to them,he just keeps cussin' and gets loud....thats about it. Reason #2:in the song "Rock N Roll Jesus" he refers to himself as the Jesus of ROCK N ROLL,now if your one of his fans youll say yeah he is and if your a fan of Rock N Roll then you will go CRAZY!!!!the reason for this is cause OUT OF EVERY ROCK ARTIST AND GROUP HE SAYS HE IS THE BEST.....NO. what he made a couple CDs and 3 or 4 hits and suddenly he's the best?so that means he is better than AC/DC?...JERRY LEE LEWIS?....ELVIS P.?.....the list goes on.point is he is speaking ROCK N ROLL BLASPHEMY.please dont by this."

What's great about it: Good mixture of style and songs What's not so great: None
"This album is possibly a little softer then his earlier albums, but still plenty of great music. Fantastic mix of styles. So Hott and Sugar are great hard hitting songs. Who could he be talking about when he sings "Half your age." An enjoyable album all around."

Not only would I recommend this to a friend, but I've already purchased it as a gift for 2 friends already. You can't beat it for the price. Buy it - you won't be sorry."

Rock N Roll Jesus
10/19/2007
By AlaskaJack
What's great about it: New Kid Rock Material, Nostalgic Feel What's not so great: Not enough originality
"The new album, "Rock N Roll Jesus" is, in my opinion, Kid Rock's weakest effort to date. Scratch that. Rock tries hard, but maybe a little too hard. This album is an all-out Southern Rock tribute, and is still somehow hit-or-miss. Rock emulates his influences such as AC/DC, Lynard Skynard, and Bob Seger, and while he does a fantastic job of nailing their style, it sounds too much like the others and not enough like Kid Rock. If I wanted to hear AC/DC, I would buy an AC/DC album. While Rock's lyrics are more mature and grown-up on this album, it actually makes me yearn for the brash, cocky, immature Kid Rock of days past. Not an awful album, but Rock has proven that he is capable of much better. Standout Tracks: Amen, So Hott, and Sugar."

BEST KID ROCK ALBUM TO DATE
10/10/2007
By ayejoe
"I have been waiting for this CD to come out since his live album and I couldn't be more pleased. This is by far Kid Rock's best album to date. It gives you a little bit of everything. There are songs that have a style similar to AC/DC such as "So Hott", songs that have the southern rock Skynyrd-esque feel such as "All Summer Long", songs that have that Bob Seger feel to them like "Roll On", and the good old Kid Rock on tracks such as "Guilty". This album also includes a little bit of country in the song "Half Your Age". This is easily his best album. You can play it the whole way through without having to switch tracks."

Best Album Yet
10/09/2007
By RockNRollJesusfrom Cincinnati
"From top to bottom, "Rock N' Roll Jesus" is Kid Rock's best album yet. While on some albums you may skip around to find the tracks you like, you won't want to do that with this album or you may miss out on a great song. If you're a fan of Kid Rock, then "Rock N' Roll Jesus" is a must have. The isntant you play this album, you'll see that the Kid Rock has truely out done himself."

"Kid Rock definetly did not disappoint this time! This is a fantastic CD from start to finish. The CD is a mixture of Southern Rock/ Country/ and Good 'Ol Fashion Kid Rock."
