What's great about it: Everything about this CD is a PRO. All the way!
What's not so great: There are none.
A
must have for any CD collection! This is the best yet, by Shooter and
his band, the 357.s The horns and fiddle featured on the songs are
awesome. He does a fantastic cover of the Dire Straits song Walk of
Life. Tangled Up roses is a beautiful song, worthy of radio air play.
And, the harmonies on Slow Train, by the Oak Ridge Boys, blend so well
with Shooter's lead vocal. This Old Wheel has Shooter's unique brand on
it. Old Friend is a song everyone can relate to, because we all have
the special old friend, we couldn't have done without and still can't.
Higher is a fabulous first effort by drummer Bryan Keel. Matter of
time, a three part story, is another unique brand by Shooter, as is
Concrete Cowboys. And the CD is rounded off by equally worthy songs.
This is a CD that I think everyone would find something that they can
relate to. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it to friends and family.

Shooter Jennings new c.d. is definetly worth your money and attention,he has a very unique sound of country/rock. This young man is going to go places fast, and he's doing it the Waylon way and making alot of good music. Buy it,you'll love it.

What's great about it: The album is amazing!!!!
What's not so great: there are honestly none!!!
This is a must have album! Shooter Jennings has come along way since 2005 with the release of Put The O Back In Country. The Wolf displaysthe growth of this artist's music lyricaly and his wide selection of instruments . The first track on this album certainly does get a wheel turning with its fast lyrics and rocking guitar it certainly sets the mood. Shooter has a more sweet, softer sound on the next track, Tangled Up Roses which describes feelings you would only get when you are involved with a special relationship. The single off of the albumWalk of Life displays the style Shooter is trying to produce and puts a spin on a classic everyone is used to. Old Friend is a ballad that describes his relationship to his old friend and has some rocking horns on it. Slow Train, which was written by Leroy Powell and features The Oak Ridge Boys, has a country feel to it, and describes a mans struggle of leaving home and then returning to describe where hes been to. Time Management 101 almost has an exact feel of something you would hear from Hank Jr. but it is a great country song. Concrete Cowboys is a very slow song that has alot of meaning behind of it,following that is Higher a song written by Shooter's drummer Bryan Keeling, this song is a bit more up beat and comical. Blood From a Stone has a late 70's early 80's vibe, its keyboard rythm really turned me onto this song. The next to songs The Last Time That I let You down, written by Shooter's bass player Ted Russell Kamp, and She Lives In Color both have a very radio friendly sound to them. The Wolf, for me, amazed me of how I mentioned earlier, Shooter's growth as a musician lyrically. A Matter Of Time brings the album home, the words are basically as if three songs were put together to describe Shooter going crazy, and loosing his mind, It has some crazy effects that almost resemble Pink Floyd with a country tingle to it. The record closes with voices singing time, which is how I feel about Shooter. Its only A matter of time before Shooter breaks through big time. This album is a must have, buy it, it will not be a waster of money AT ALL.
