"I have to say I am a very avid gamer. Grew up with PlayStation, then a neighbor introduced me to X box several years ago and I never looked back. My manager at work gave me a $50 gift card for Best Buy and so here we are. I bought the X3 which several friends recommend for the sound quality - especially for games like Rainbow6, Gears of War, or COD - any version. Up front I was very impressed with sound quality and overall comfort. I bought the head set on 12/27/08. On 1/3/08 I returned them to Best Buy. The mic just stopped working, check the batteries, replaced with new, still nothing....then moments later I could no longer hear any cross talk at all....no one could hear me.......For the money ??? No one in home ever complained about the noise, so for now I'm back to the Xbox headset. I read many reviews that these were great for sound but found many, many complaints about the quality of the product.....Mine were adult handled, never tossed or dropped or anything ill advised............Sorry. I'll stick with my 60in Sony LCD and Bose 321 system, now that's money well spent - also from Best Buy."

"When i first got this, it woked amazing and it felt like I was in the game. But I often had to replace the batteries say every two days. But after about three months or so, the sound in the television started to only play out of one ear istead of two. I tried replacing the batteries and hooking it up again and nothing seemed to work. So if you are looking for a quality mic for a medium price, get the Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless headset."

"It works exactly as it is supposed to, I have had mine for almost a year and can't imagiine not having them. the only thing that I would change is that you still have to plug the headphones into your contoller to chat on live and that wire can be a bother, especially since everything else is wireless."

"These are extremely great headphones for xbox360 the just have a few problems. They use to much batteries (depending how much you play). They also can get really confusing when hooking up the cables and everything. But other then that they're comfortable, helpful, quiet, and cheap compared to everything else. One other thing these are so great, you can't hear anything but your game and i ask that all call of duty players to buy this to hear people from miles away in the game."

Break way too easy

"I bought these headphones online, and they were great for about two hours. After about two hours my friends are telling me my voice is distorted and I had to yell into the mic so people could hear me sound like an idiot. I turned them off thinking it would help since they are knew but they didn't. I turned them back on and they killed the pair of batteries that they sent me. I put in new ones and they killed another pair in about 2 1/2 hours. So I decide i'll return them and get a new pair thinking they were defective. I get a new pair and they were good for about 2 weeks. Then they did the same thing my first pair did. So immediately i send them back and i refuse to get a new pair."

"The Turtle Beach Ear Force X3 is a must for gamers of all varieties, especially those into First Person Shooters. Having 5.1 Digital Surround Sound being pumped into your ears during a heated hunt for your objective is amazing. You can literally hear the details of a game that you wouldn't normally hear from your standard speakers from your television. The ability to adjust the in-game volume along with voice volume means no more having to shout or strain to hear your friends. . . .or enemies during the game. The adjustable mic boon is fantastic and picks up sounds from your voice great. As far as wireless technology goes for gaming, this is a great way to go, though wireless in this sense means a couple wires to the tv/speakers/xbox 360 and another to hook the headset to the controller. All in all though, it's a great device that is a must for all gamers now, through the holidays, and beyond1"

"I went to best buy and bought mine yesterday but when i plugged them up i could get them to work the way they instructed me. I had to turn frequency on low for the transmitter. I also had this really LOUD humming noise in my right earphone and it changed sounds and volume when i moved around in-game or tabs on the Xbox Menu. I followed their instructions still no luck. over i wouldn't buy this again. I'd go with X1 and the Cords its all worth it."

"Wow. Ever since I came across these at the Turtle Beach website, I knew I needed them. Being a professional gamer, I had been looking for a headset that was of great quality and could give me an edge in combat. I hear everything around me in a game. EVERYTHING!! I can even confirm a report I read of the X3, apparently someone heard flies buzzing around their head in Call of Duty 4, I also did. It is amazing what Turtle Beach has disigned here. It is everything I wanted in a headset. I have used these in online tournaments for Halo 3 and clan matches in Cod4 and thanks to awesome technology I have caught people sneaking up behind me whilst communicating to my team. The only cons: Battery and Price I was prepared to pay for them because I knew how great they would be and what I could get from them. The battery power however is a little too short. Every other couple of days or so I will have to swap out the batteries and my friends say I sound like a nerd when I talk with low battery. Overall: If you want an edge to your gaming. Get the X3 headset. I love these and I would never think about taking them back!"

What's great about it: Sound quality, battery life, noise cancelling What's not so great: In-game chat wire, ear cushion discomfort after LONG gaming sessions
"As mentioned, the sound quality is amazing- i like it better than actual surround sound system, because the sounds are closer to your head. It's great for xbox LIVE, because you hear every thud, sound, step of your enemies as they close in on you. The battery life is impressive also. If I had to guess, I'd say well over 40+ hours on two AAA's. The noise cancelling, is what makes this headset prefferable over actual surround sound speakers. All of the noise is concealed, for you and your ears only.. which is also why this is a must have if you're married, and/or have kids, parents, and game in the later hours. As for the cons.. if you're chatting over xbox live, you have to have the wire plugged in from your controller to your headset, so there is no setting the controller down and walking into the kitchen for that mountain, without losing your audio(because sound is emitted via infrared- you must be in the IR sensors line of sight). And lastly, the cushion is comfortable, and fits your head nicely, but if you game for hours on end, the back of your ears will begin to ache, as if your ears are being pulled down, maybe due to the X3 headset being a little on the heavier side vs. the standard wired headset. The Pro's surpass the weight of cons, and this headset is well worth $100, if your a serious gamer looking for sound quality, or if you're looking for a quieter alternative."

"the best headset for the xbox 360 the only thing is, if you get the headset that blinks green on the side, you have the old verison, if it blinks red, you have the new verison and the new verison on this headset is amazing, as soon as i got them, my friend came over and he used them, the next day he went out and bought him self a pair, best purches possible for the xbox 360"
