What's great about it: Quick processor, Vista is great, runs smooth
What's not so great: Keyboard!!!!!! And you would expect more USB ports!
I originally purchased a Gateway from here and returned 6 days later b/c it was horrible. I choose to pay a little more for this Desktop Tower and glad that I did!! It runs smooth, offers many plug-ins, has a convenient unit, and offers alot of bang for your buck! The only negative ascept is the keyboard! I hated it! The Caps lock key and A key are too close together and with the layout of the keys being very flat, it made it annoying! I decided to just purchase a wireless keyboard & mouse instead. I do wish it had more USB ports (it has 2 in the front) b/c I use alot of jump drives!Vista is different from XP but much more advance and stylish.

What's great about it: Easy set up if moderatly familiar with computers
What's not so great: Doesn't meet expectations.
Set up was easy. Adding hardware (wireless mouse, printers, etc) and software went smoothly. Halfway thru, I discovered it's running the slower 32-bit version of VISTA home premium. This computer was NOT set up for 64-bit processing I expected based on advertisements, specs researched on many sites before purchasing. It’s like buying a Corvette or Maserati then finding 4-cylinder Hyundai engine inside. A fine engine, but not designed for high speed operation. For spreadsheets, that’d be OK. To obtain high speed 64-bit operation for graphics, movie editing, gaming, which this computer is capable of, you must purchase and install separate VISTA 64-bit operating system. The nice folks at HP support suggest specifying 64-bit VISTA software at time of purchase if you want 64bit performance (that their ads imply it has). CAVEAT EMPTOR

What's great about it: Nice Sleek Look, Convenient CD Storage on top, More Hard Drive Space than I could ever use, really fast loading
What's not so great: Vista seems to have problems with some of my older games
After hours of deliberation, I decided to scoop up this nice little tower. I have to say that it has more than enough to satisfy everyday computer users. I believe mine runs at an actual Memory rate of 2.092 GB with a bus of 3.0 and is lightning fast on loading my games and windows itself. There is enough hard drive space to hold every game I own, all my music and a movie or two, and still have over 400 gig left! A neat little feature of this model is the little CD bay on the top of the console, it is nice to store my more frequented games to allow for fast, yet safe storage.
My only quarell with this computer would be the video memory card. To an everyday computer user this may not be an issue, but I can't run Oblivion at all, and I'm just barely scrapping by on Halo. All it needs is a Nvidia 8800 and a 450w power box, then, in my opinion, you'll be set with one of the best computers Best Buy offers! I would then give it a 5 star rating without a second thought.

What's great about it: Dual Processor Cores, Large 500GB Hard Drive, FM Tuner, 3GB of RAM, TV Tuner
What's not so great: Windows Vista Uses to much of your Memory, Hard Drive, and is very hard to use Windows XP Home Edition is much better
This is a very good computer loaded with lot of software, more than what you get with a new Emachines computer. I love everything about this pc except the Operating System (OS) Windows Vista Premium and Windows Vista Home Basic what I have on my Emachines PC, I hate it. Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Media Center Edition is alot better than Vista. XP is easier to use for one, second Vista uses alot of your Hard Drive space and RAM (Memory) third it stalls alot more than XP and last but not least you have to have a Internet Service for Vista if you want to install XP complant software because it doesn't work with unless you have a Internet Provider (IP) to be able to download drivers for new and old Hardware (Printers, Montiors, and Media Software. I Hope this review was very helpful in describing the pros and cons about this PC.

What's great about it: Nice, Smooth, Quite
Went from windows 98se to a cadillac in my eyes. It is FAST!
1. I have been unable to have two seperate adjustments one for TV and one for PC they are one in the same so you manually have to make the adjustments for your viewing pleasure.I have only had it for two weeks but contacted HP and that is what they are telling me. Maybe I will make a discovery in the near future. I upgraded to a 22 inch screen (hp w2207)and it is very BRIGHT. When I make adjustments to tune down the brightness and contrast it is too dark to view the TV. For desk top viewing I may have been better off with the 19 Inch, but I won't tell my better half that since I sent him back to the store for the upgrade after the fact.
2. You can create your own recovery disk. Best Buy gave me the sales pitch and I fell for it. If you do not want to attempt to make your own let them do it but if you want to review how to go to the HP site, after reading I could have saved some $$. I also did not have it optimized and it runs fine without. The choice is yours. But they are correct in the fact it comes with No Disk like the olden days. I should have looked into this prior to my purchase.
3. It comes with a 60 day free trial of Office Home Student. But, from what I checked it is more expensive to purchase it directly from Microsoft than to purchase a copy from the store.

What's great about it: The memory, The hard drive space, and its a 64 6000+
What's not so great: If any I would say the graphics card.
This is my 2nd PC, so I wanted a little exta. Its fast, and has alot of memory and hard drive space! Im a gamer but my wife, and kids are not, so I wanted to get a PC that would benefit all of us. I just put in a 500 watt power supply and a nvidia geforce 8600 gts and I have no complaints... Well I tried to play Bioshock and had to mess with it for a bit, but I got it to work!! The only reason I gave it a 4 is because there are some kick butt computers out there like an Alienware or Voodoo.

What's great about it: compatibility, dvr
What's not so great: speaker setup
bought this when our family XP pc died. Was able to use current monitor and ALL software. Would have bought one earlier, but was afraid of the compatiblity factor. Did have to purchase another set of speakers, and had to set it up in Vista, then configure them for the Media Center.

What's great about it: Very Fast, lots of hookups, DVR
What's not so great: video card
I got this desktop a few months back, after debating a lot between it and the quad core. To be truthful, I haven't regretted getting this one since. The computer is very fast, I only have problems when I'm doing a heavy load in photoshop. Other than that, this thing acts like everything else is nothing. The only real problem, as stated by someone else, is that the video card is a little sub par. It shows as a 3.0 on the Windows Aero scale due to it. I figure upgrading to something nice will make the desktop the ultimate machine.

What's great about it: AMDprocessor , large HD, Very Fast, vista is great (so far)
What's not so great: some what loud HD at times, Small graphics card, small power supply
Just got this pc today. Out of the box very fast. the manual says to allow at least 20 min for the 1st startup it was done in about 5. Norton did a full scan in about 5 min, which usually took 20 min on my other pc's. I bought the package w the 19" wide screen & printer and it looks very nice. The only cons i see are the small graphics card, which im not shure y hp used such a base card in this computer other than to cut production costs or to keep the final price under a grand. Needs an upgraded graphics & power supply badly! And im not likein the loud hard drive, mabye caused by the the fact that the left side is like a screen for better cooling which is a plus. All in all its a great pc, and would recommend it over any other in the same price range. Although the cheap mouse and keyboard are being replaced tomarro.

What's great about it: extremely versatile
What's not so great: price is a question mark
First let me tell you this.....for the price its a pretty good machine. Now for the potential....if you were to give this baby a lil horse power in the graphics department I would say it would all come full circle.
First you have the hard drive a whopping 500 gb storage space can atleast calm your video editing needs, but again its the potential that matters....taking full use of dx-10 this baby can play...games for windows basically means games for vista....so feel confident that if this baby can handle vista ultimate with all the bells and whistles (yes, even dreamscene) it can handle madden and bioshock at a decent frame rate.....all it takes is a quick upgrade to boost this puppy to *great*.
the only problem that i have with the system is the price before the upgrades.....for a decent video card you'll easily pay upwards of 200 dollars, bringing the total cost of the system in the thousand dollar range....which in my opinion is a no-go for a budget entertainment p.c
thanks for hearing me out

What's great about it: Quick....DVR capabilities..Customer Service availability
What's not so great: Had to call HP Customer Service right off the bat - connector on HD was not connected...HD can be a little loud at times
Nice machine...once I got it going...I'm very excited about this purchase because I've always wanted a Media Center PC and now I have it....When I first unpacked this machine, I received a Boot Disk Error and was a little bit upset...Called HP Customer Service and was told to open the case and check the Hard Drive...the connector on the back of the HD was loose...Reconnected it and I was up and running in no time....The machine is great, but I'm not sure about Vista...there are a lot of programs that I used to use with XP that might not work (i.e. Nero 6).

What's great about it: Fast out of the box, low price
What's not so great: Hard to change ram modules
I just recieved this today and straight out of the box and it was nice and speedy just the way it was. I changed out the two 512 modules with 1gb modules. I also added the 8600GT video card and it screams. Tried to tax the system by opening many windows and still showed 2100 ram free. The only downside is the location of the memory modules. They are almost under the expansion bays with a large wire bundle in the way. But I do still give it 5 stars because the product was great out of the box.

What's great about it: Has all the features you could ever want and room for more.
What's not so great: No user's manual for the PC or Vista Ultimate???
Where do I start?
Pros: Just look at the details listed on the Bestbuy
web site for this product (Bestbuy.com)! It will be
helpful to search for "HP m8150". I chose this model
for several reasons. It starts with more Ram (3GB),
and includes Vista Ultimate, and a larger hard drive
(640GB), built in TV tuner & wireless G. Memory is
upgradable to 8GB!
Cons: As an old programer, I always want a user's
manual. Having been in the business for over 30
years, I know that if you have problems where the
moniter is not working or the PC will not boot up,
built in help is of no use! Also it would have been
nice if an external brodcast TV antenna had been
included.
