What's great about it: Cleans well, very quiet
What's not so great: Door sags after only six months
"I bought the washer/dryer combo and have been very happy with the cleaning and drying of the pair. The one problem I have is that the door on the washer sags almost 1/2 inch meaing you have to lift the door to align it while closing. I have read that this is a common problem with the cheap nylon hinge bushings they use.
I have e-mailed frigidaire twice on this issue with no response."

What's not so great: odor from retained water
"Water sits in rubber around front door - after a few days it begins to smell. Apparantly this is a common problem. I had the same problem with a front loader Maytag."

What's great about it: Lots of features for the money
What's not so great: few color choices
"We are extremely pleased with our Affinity washer. We had an extremely good experience with prior Frigidaire laundry purchases, so low price was not the only thing we considered. We are using almost half the detergent of our previous toploader. We are also not using much water which is great since we have a well. I am also amazed how quiet the unit is, which is important due to the location of the bedrooms. My only complaint was the color availability( no red). However if you want a lot of quality "Bang for the Buck" you will need to check out this washer."

What's great about it: Great if you need added counter space.
"Alhough I have only had this machine for a month it has far exceeded my expectations. It is Energy Star-rated, quiet, and most of all compact. It is counter height and extended the counter-space in my very small kitchen/laundry room. If you need a counter-height washing machine this is a great choice."

Best Washing Machine

What's great about it: energy Star, front loading, easy to use
"This is the first washer that my wife and I bought. We had previously had to use coin laundry or supplied units (renting). So maybe I don't have a true comparative opinion. However, this machine has all the functions that I need (I'm a guy) but I know my wife likes the extra functions for some of her more delicate pieces.
Energy star is a key. This machine will save you energy and water. I can't believe how dry the cloth are taking them out and moving them into the dryer. I've had this washer for 6 months now, and I absolutely love it. If you're looking for a front loader good on energy/water, than I think this is the most economical model you can get. My opinion, of course."

"We were looking for a new style front loader that wasn't really expensive, and choose this Fridgidaire. Its nice and quiet, and has a lot of features. It does everything we wanted and is a huge improvement over the old top loader it replaced."

What's not so great: I would have picked a diferent color
"I got the washer and dryer on special with free delivery and installation. This is my first pair I have bought. So it was an important purchase for me. I love this pair, they are quiet and clean the clothes well. It takes much less time to dry because the washer uses less water and drains it well. I am very happy with Best Buy and my purchase!"

"This machine uses such a small amount of water that I had to have my son (who purchased a similar HE machine recently) confirm that it was actually running properly.
I moved to a small apartment and needed a washer and dryer that would stack up yet still handle a full-size load of laundry. This machine is quiet and extremely efficient. It gets everything nice and clean and things are so well spun that it also cuts down on dryer time. I am very pleased with my purchase."

What's not so great: Uses so little water, the water doesn't get hot.
"We've had this for a little over a year now and it's been great. The washer is quiet and uses very little water. It uses so little that we have to run the hot water in the laundry tub if we want to wash on hot. If we don't, the washer fills and starts running before the water gets hot. Not a bad problem to have."

"I installed the washer and dryer in my galley kitchen opposite each other. They work perfectly so far. It's only been 4 weeks. I have never had cleaner clothes. I hope they are reliable and continue to perform well."

"I absolutely love this product. My clothes are super clean and they are rung out really well so that they don't take a lot of time to dry. I could even fit a king size comforter in and it actually got clean. The washer is very quiet."

What's great about it: Quiet, Energy Efficient, Easy to use, Uses very little water..
What's not so great: NONE!!
"When my old dryer went out, we decided to replace our old set with a new front loading pair. It was the best choice ever!! This washer does a great job on all my clothes, towels, cloth diapers and more. It uses very little detergent and get the clothes very clean. One thing to remember is this washer uses HE detergent ONLY! Its not more $ then regular detergent. I use about half of what the bottle says and have great results.
I have a 22mo old daughter whom we cloth diaper and have no problems when washing them in this front loader. The sanitize cycle works great!
I LOVE my new washer and dryer and rec. it to everyone!!"

Disappointing Service

What's not so great: nightmare to get repairs/parts, customer service from Frigidaire non-existent
"Life expectancy for most major appliances at least five years. I have had this washer for less than a year, two major parts have gone out - one was the electronic control panel. I have only two people in my family, do not do excessive washing, so have really not used it as much as probably the average family would.
When trying to get repair from Frigidaire, their customer service department was less than helpful. They gave me 3 repair companies, one never answered the phone, one never called back, third one finally did repair, but was without washing machine for almost three weeks. There was no extension of the warranty, even though 2 major parts failed. Company said if I am lucky and 3rd major part goes out, I get a different washer. No reflection on Best Buy. They had great customer service, setup, etc., but Frigidaire leaves much, much to be desired. Their rep refused to give me name and address of anyone to follow-up, they did not respond to my numerous emails, and I WILL NEVER purchase another of their product due to extreme lack of customer service."

Wonderful washer

What's great about it: Quiet. Gentle on Clothes. Spins dry.
What's not so great: Initial price is more than toploader. Unloading by front.
"We've had this washer for about 3 weeks now. We had a toploader and were considerring another one. Now we are glad we didn't. We love this machine. It is so quiet that you can only hear the water splashing and that's it. You can't even tell the motor is on during the wash cycle. During the spin cycles it gets louder, but that's because of how fast this thing spins. It spins clothes until just lightly damp. (We have it installed on a concrete floor. I bet this thing would vibrate a lot if it were installed on a weak floor.) It's much more gentle on our clothes than the toploader/agitator style. Our towels used to leave a very full lint trap in our dryer after every wash. Now, the lint trap is only a 1/10th full after each wash! The only thing I don't like about the front-style washer is the fact that the door swings to the left, and that's where our dryer is. The door is not reversible. When you unload clothes from the front it is hard not to have them all want to pull-out/fall-out at the same time. You almost need a clean basket to catch the clothes. A small gripe that doesn't even have to do with the quality of this machine. Front dryers also require High Efficient HE soap that is low-sudsing or it can damage the machine. We make our own low-sudsing soap from washing soada, borax, and fels naptha. No problems so far. These machines only require about 1 tablespoon of soap per load. We love it. We're very happy. We would recommend this machine."
