What's great about it: Easy to Use, 12 hour batter life, and Micro SD card
What's not so great: Start up time is alittle long
"I have used this GPS to drive all over the country and go back packing when I get there. The maps do need to be bought seperate, but there easy to load. I like map loading feature as I can just add the things I need. On or Off the road."

What's great about it: Everything except map
What's not so great: Have to purchase maps separately
"This little gem was the best GPS (for geocaching) I have ever used and I have had 4 different ones. I use my Garmin nuvi 200w to navigate the roads then when we arrive my Garmin 60CSx takes us to the cache and I have NEVER lost a signal with it, and we have been in a tunnel under a roadway, under heavy tree cover and cloud covered skys. It is very accurate, between 18' to 4' everytime, it even has an automatic trail saver so if you get lost, it will retrace your steps back, like a bread crumb trail! The only downfall is that if you want a road map or trail map with any detail you'll have to purchase them separate for around $100 because this only comes with a base map. If you plan on purchasing this one for the road, I would not reccomend it but if you want it for trail walking or geocaching, you will not be disappointed!"

What's not so great: Belt Clip is Junk
"Had this unit for one day. I went hiking with it and slipped on some rocks. No I did not fall but the unit poped of the belt clip and went into the river never to be seen again. DO NOT USE THE CLIP YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR UNIT!!!"

Great All-Around GPS
04/20/2008

What's great about it: Portable, Accurate, Color, Rugged, MiniSD Slot
What's not so great: Small screen, Easy to scratch, some confusing menus
"The GPSMap 60CSx is, as the title says, a great all-around (multi-purpose) GPS receiver. If you are looking for a unit that you will only use in your car, this probably isn't the best choice for you. However, if you want to use it in the car but also want to use it for hiking, camping, or geocaching, then this is a great choice. Its little brother, the 60Cx, is also a great choice. Since the screen is vulnerable to scratches, I would recommend that you purchase a screen protector before you take the unit out of the box. I got one that's called Invisible Shield, and it's worth every penny. Over a year later and still not a single scratch. The small screen is not great for driving, but it's plenty for everything else. And the expansion slot in the battery compartment allows you to store your own selection of detailed maps. When geocaching, the 60CSx will not only lead you to a hidden treasure, but will mark is as "found" for you! Overall, I have been extrememly satisfied with my 60CSx. I think you will be, too."

Great Handheld GPS

What's great about it: Portability, Multi-application
What's not so great: Price, Complexity
"For a techy like me, this little GPS is great. I originally purchased it for my wife and found that it was just to complicated for her to use in her car. She needed something more simplistic like the StreetPilot - big screen, voice prompts, preloaded maps, etc. I mounted it on my motorcycle and it works great. I use it as a pathfinder when treking through unknown areas. It is a great multi-use GPS. It even is good on the rivers and bays of the NorthEast. The biggest complaint (?) is the overall cost for this device. Not only do you need to spend the $400 (current price) for the unit but you will need to upgrade the memory from 256mb to at least 1g using a micro-SD for loading maps and keeping your trip info. Next, you need to buy and load maps at $100 plus depending on the maps. This unit does not have anything but a very basic mapset built-in. So, expect to spend at least $500 for the unit to work and then another $50 or so for accessories. If this is something you can bite off - then you will have a great unit."

Best handheld GPS I have ever used

What's great about it: Easy to use; Never loses satellites
What's not so great: None
"This is my 3rd handheld GPS and is the only one I have ever owned that has NEVER lost satellite reception. I use my unit primarily for geocaching, where having a signal under the cover of trees is key. The 60CSx has easy to use and always has reception. I would definitely recommend this to anyone considering it. :)"

Awesome GPS

What's great about it: Easy to use, puts you right on the mark
What's not so great: Nothing really.
"I love mine; I have had it about a year now. No problems what so ever. I use it on the trail and in the car and it works great for both. I bought a 512MB microSD card for mine, load all the maps and forget about it. If I had to complain about something it would be the amount of time it takes to acquire satellites when its first turned on. However, I have nothing to compare it to. It might be fast compared to other products it just seems slow. We're talking 30 seconds in most cases. Once the satellites are acquired you're right on the spot."

Great top-end handheld!

What's great about it: Screen, reception, menus
What's not so great: price???
"Another iteration of the great handheld GPS by Garmin! This model was excellent in my last few trips in East Texas under HEAVY tree cover. Screen is very clear, and easy to see in high and low light situations.
My only complaint is the price, but it is in line with similar models with this feature set."
