the best for less

What's great about it: Best second only to a blade shave, this shaver is light, charges quickly, is very powerful and the price lowest here What's not so great: a minor fault: replacing the cleaner cartridge; but you can wash it in water as well
"I was going to purchase the Braun Pulsonic until I read the consumer reviews on this and other web purchase conduits. Never had a Panasonic before but trusting in the honesty of others, bought this. I have to join the others in praise. This shaver (8109) is identical to the more expensive 8228 except for some wood trim and different color. Otherwise, the technology is the same at $100 less and a lot less than the Braun. I didn't try out the Braun so I cant compare, but I'm very happy with this Panasonic. Out of the box it took 10 minutes to set up and though they say a charge takes abouit an hour, mine charged up fully in half that. The shave is tremendous and unlike the Braun, this one can go into the shower with you. Wet shaving is great but even dry is without pulling. Has a good "heft" to the hand and shaves clean with (to me) no irritation and that's important as I have sensitive skin. Everyone rating this tops was spot on; The Panasonic people did their job and marketed one great shaver and Best Buy did theirs with the lowest price and a same day in store pickup within 5 minutes (and it's Christmas shopping season)If you want the best; this is it !"

What's great about it: Charges quick, close shave, gentle on the skin, Wet/Dry. What's not so great: Doesnt come with a stand so it sits on ur bathroom counter.
"Great shaver. I have used a razor my whole life but i was just fed up with the $30 price tags of a package of 8 refills for a mach3. Not only does this shave 100% closer there is no irritation at all and this is coming from someone with very sensitive skin so I was very happy when my face wasnt bothering me after I shave. It only cost $100 at best buy. I always review stuff on the internet before I buy and everyone did a good job reviewing it because it is a very good shaver. I was considering buying that $250 pulsonic but im really glad i didnt because I couldnt have paid for a better shave than with this shaver. Use it in the shower with shaving cream for an extra comfortable shave without the mess of using it wet over your sink."

"I returned the Norelco 1050 to get this razor. I have had it about a month. So far I have only used it dry as it cuts so well I haven't bothered with the mess of a wet cut. This cuts close and I actually don't hate shaving anymore. The sideburn cutter is decent as well. I will never go back to the "3 spinning blades" type of shaver. Shaving with this is similar to a real razor with a front to back motion. The Norelco forced you to do a circular motion which is irritating and not very effective. Buy this. You won't regret it."

What's great about it: Great results, Solid build quality, Good ergonomics, Great value compared to others What's not so great: None so far!
"I've never submitted a review for anything until today. This is the first product to impress me so much that I feel it is my duty to recommend it to everyone in the market for an electric razor.
I have owned several top of the line models from the other major players in the electric shaver market only to return to a Mach 3 or similar razor blade. The electric shavers never produced an acceptably close shave. To add injury to insult, they usually left my skin severely irritated.
Setup for the Panasonic took only a minute and within a half hour the shaver was fully charged. The first time I used the shaver it cleared away several days worth of course stubble with ease. It took only a couple passes to produce a shave 99% as close as that of a razor. My skin is fairly sensitive and even the sharpest razor blade leaves minor irritation but I experienced no irritation at all after using this Panasonic.
I am the type of person who is hard to impress but this shaver really does impress me."

"I have always been a crossover shaver, electric if I catch it soon enough, then blade when I skip a bit. My old electric finally died, so I decided to research for one that might do it all. I liked the idea about shaving with an electric using shaving cream or even in the shower, and those reviews led me to Panasonic. I have NEVER spent this much for a razor in my life, I'm just not that kind of guy, but the more I read about what folks were saying, I decided to "live a little."
My title says it all, WOW! I went in knowing only what I knew about previous (and I'll be honest, discount) electric shavers, and I can tell you that this is a whole different world I have entered. I have only used it with shaving cream (the cheapest possible, I am still me), but it is closer than previous electrics by far. I'll say closer than blades too for those of us who try and cheat around the hard parts we don't want to nick.
The other frill I love is the self cleaning and docking station. I wonder if I will continue to buy the soap inserts, it is so easy to clean with the hyper mode, but then to dock it and push a button and have it clean and dry the unit preparing it for the next morning, it is truly a luxury. Life is a journey we must learn to enjoy I figure, and I gotta tell you, you could do worse than to start out your day with a great shave."

An Excellant Shaver

"I've been using Panasonic Linear shavers for a number of years, as I have found them to be the best shave for me (compared to Braun and Norelco). The wet/dry shaving ability has also been a big plus. This new model has been even better, after a month of usage. The NanoTech blades actually seem to shave closer and smoother than my prior models. The lighter design, and cleaning unit which utilizes tap water, as opposed to an alcohol based solution, is also a nice touch. I highly recommend this unit, and believe it to be reasonable priced for such a quality product."

Fantastic Shaver-but Best Shave?

"What a fantastic device. Great form and function. Was about to plop down twice as much for the top Braun but searched out many reviews and was drawn to try the Panasonic. Saw high disatisfaction rates among Braun owners and near perfect ratings for the Panasonic. I can see why.
After 30 years of using Norelcos triple heads and gimmicky blades on my agressive beard, I was thrilled with the first dry shave. Nearly as close as a blade - no bloodshed. Wetshaving is even better, with a little lather. 40 days later, I don't feel like it cuts as cleanly and it takes longer to get the same results but I am still very pleased. The neck areas around the jugular are harder to shave with a linear than with triple heads and I do knick the skin on my adams apple a little, but there is very little carnage compared with a blade. The cleaner unit is attractive and functional. Your lady won't complain about it being there on the counter. But it is noisy as it rinses, drains and dries your shaver for close to an hour.
Short story is: I ran back and bought another one for my dad.
Can't say enough good things about Best Buy, one of the few chains who carry this unit. I saw only Norelcos and overpriced Brauns everywhere else. I ordered online at a great price and dropped into the local store for easy pickup. Spent some of the time and money I saved shopping for other tech goodies. Nice Job Best Buy."
