What's great about it: You don'r have to keep struggling using a mouse to draw. What's not so great: The pen is hunky, but it's okay. Size.
"I really wanted one of these for my birthday,so I got this. It included the tablet, a USB cable,a pen with a tip, and 3 other tips in a bag with 1 installation CD, a CD with Adobe Photoshop Elements, Corell Painter, another program, and a DVD. There are a bunch of drivers, like in MSN Messenger you can draw big messages with the tablet, pen flicks, and other stuff. The Tablet is GREAT for animating with flash and easytoon, but not in pivot or tisfat. The mouse is'nt really all that usefull because you have ot drag it on top of the small tablet. The pen is hunky plastic, but it works better than a mouse. I really dont recommend this to anyone who would use this sitting with a laptop on their laps. More for people starting with tablets on a budget. Overall, great!"

What's great about it: very comfotable feel with the pen or mouse What's not so great: would love a better software program to come with it for better handwriting ability
"Love my tablet. I digital scrapbook and it works great to set on my lap desk along next to my laptop. It has saved my wrist from getting cramps from using my laptop touchpad to scrapbook with. I haev yet to figure out a real great way to do my own handwriting and get it into my scrapbook pages - still is very shaky and doesn't look like my real handwriting. I am quite sure that is user error though! :) I would highly recommend this tablet!"

What's great about it: Lightweight, Easy to transport, Beautiful. What's not so great: Very.. Large Mouse compared to Screen size.
"I got this item a few weeks ago, and It was so easy to use, I got used to it in about 30 minutes. Now, Its my best friend and I even take it to work! The only problem is, I can't really find a use for the massive-sized mouse, and why is it so big? It takes up like, half the screen! Oh well! Anyways, I find this little tool very handy. Helps me out alot with the deviantArt page! :)"

What's great about it: Easy to write with, thin, ultra-portable, fun to use What's not so great: None... it's definitely THE best purchase I've made this year
"At first I thought the description of it being a "pen-on-paper" feel was a little to much to hope for, but it's true, it feels exactly like you are writing on paper... simply amazing. The only thing I would complain about is that it came with a mouse, and I don't plan on ever using it because the pen itself acts as a mouse, so it's basically a waste to me. I thought the size of the tablet would be a problem, but I was once again surprised to find that I was once again wrong. Yes, it would always be better if it was bigger, but it's perfect for someone like me who uses it in a non-professional manner (meaning that I don't draw or edit photographs on the computer). I would recommend this product to anyone who is even considering buying a tablet. This is definitely one of the best out there, and I guarantee that you will not be unsatisfied with it."

It's Good

What's great about it: Good for touching up paper drawn animation What's not so great: I keep knocking the pen off of my desk
"I found this tablet very useful when I use m animaion software. It's good for touching up minor breaks in the lines so they can be filled easily and for painting them. Also for adding details that were lost by the scanner or adding simple background animation. In other words it's great for animators who can't afford the better ones. The mouse is pretty useless, I just use it as a paper weight but it doesn't hurt anything. The pen Stand doesn't work well when you stand the pen up though, I keep knocking it over and I have to crawl around on the floor to find it but it has a groove where the pen can be laid on its side and that works better. But for the most part, it works good."

What's great about it: Affordable, portable, easy to use (best used for general graphics and such) What's not so great: Pressure sensitivity is not as good as that of professional models (Intuo, etc.)
"The only reason I know the difference in pressure sensitivity is because I use an Intuo at work. There is a small yet noticeable difference, but the affordable price makes up for it. This is the perfect product if it is your first time using a tablet. But if you are used to the quality of higher models, you may notice a difference (though it gets better once you get used to it). The mouse also comes in handy if you're using programs like Maya (in which a mouse has benefits over a pen). If you are going to need a tablet for a career in professional graphics/animation, I would recommend a professional model or Cintique, but would still recommend this product for travel/personal use."

What's great about it: Replaces a mouse, which makes the sore wrist a thing of the past. What's not so great: Will not work with GTK protocols without an easy patch.
"I'm learning to use GIMP, which is an outstanding open source graphics program. I have found that trying to work with graphics on a mouse is insane and a waste of time and energy. I looked around online to see what was available in the way of graphics tablets.
I found this one to be reasonably priced, with all the features I wanted for a first time exposure to this technology. The problem was that according to many sites on the web, this device would not work properly with GIMP.
Before making the purchase today, I located a bug fix for this item at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496958, comment number 24.
It was a very easy fix, I had no issues at all, and now my Bamboo works with GIMP just fine.
If you're holding off getting one of these because you prefer GIMP as a graphics program, go to Bugzilla, follow the patch instructions, and you'll be glad you did.
The Bamboo Fun is everything I could have hoped for and more. I really like it, and I wish I'd made the switch to a tablet from a mouse years ago."

What's great about it: small, programable buttons, easy to use What's not so great: none
"This is so easy to use. I got it home and installed it in less than five minutes. I haven't had a problem with it yet, plus the buttons are programable so you can change what they do, like open certain programs, zoom, scroll, etc. The package also comes with some spare tips for the pen. Although the mouse that it comes with works I never use it."

What's great about it: Lightweight, small, efficient and affordable. What's not so great: none
"This is my first tablet and I am extremely pleased with this purchase. I had no problems with the software and installation was a breeze. It took several days to get used to using it, but it was fun! The handwriting recognition is a plus and I used it to write this review. Kudos to Wacom for designing an affordable and delightful product such as the Bamboo."

What's great about it: Interaction with Vista and MS Office What's not so great: Mouse not as responsive as my Logitech Laser
"As the name implies, this tablet is fun. I've always wanted a Tablet PC. This gives me the next best thing at a price I can afford. It works well right out of the box. I enjoy the change of using the pen as my mouse. I can get around in any program without touching my mouse or the keypad (when using the handwriting recognition). The added software is nice for a novice. I can't wait to use my pen in photo editing."

What's great about it: compact, lightweight, extremely portable What's not so great: none, in my opinion
"This is a great product! I'm an animation student, and this tablet is perfect for everything I need to do. The tablet's writing surface is somewhat textured so it gives you the feeling of drawing on paper, and the pen's eraser can be set to feel rough or smooth which makes it feel very natural. I like that its small enough to carry around, but does all the things bigger tablets can do for half the price. All in all, it's a great buy!"

I created this within 2 hours of opening the box, that's how quick and easy the installation is!
What's great about it: Easy installation, Good included software, Easy use, and wide range of uses. What's not so great: None that I can think of
"I just bought the Bamboo fun recently. When I got I was amazed at the great packaging. I opened the box and unpacked all of the contents. I threw in the disc and 5 minutes later I was creating sketches and useing the tablet for other things like photo editing too. I had to get used to the feel of the tablet but it was significantly easier than any other tablet I have previously used. I would definitely recommend the Bamboo Fun to those who want to get a tablet and are just getting into the field of digital art or photo manipulation. BUY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!! They're AWESOME!"

"This product is really, really good. I like it a lot! I work with graphic design, websites and animation and I don't have any problem, now my work is going better with this product. I have heard in other people that the size of this product is not good because they say it is small, but I don't need something big that doesn't fit in my work table. A plus is the price!!! :) it is cheap. I don't have any complain with it. It is really good!!!"

What's great about it: you can create anything from digital paintings to signatures. What's not so great: i have no complaints.
"if you are looking for a great priced tablet, this is the one for you. i went on a whim and bought this for myself as a christmas gift. i didn't do much research, but i learned that wacom would most likely be the best brand i could even think of purchasing. so i went ahead and decided to take this one home and give it a go. granted, it takes a little while to get used to it, just as anything would. users have suggested it takes 2 days to get used to it. however, for me, it took less than 2 hours to get used to it. it is very simple and easy to use. i am very pleased with this tablet. my only suggestion is if you intend to do heavy graphics with this, a larger active area and higher level of pressure sensitivity is highly recommended."

What's great about it: Sleek look & a more comfortable feel What's not so great: It takes some time getting use to
"From what I've read, Wacom is the leading makers of graphics tablet and that is why I chose to buy their Bamboo Fun tablet. The setup was quick and easy; connect the tablet via the USB cable, install the drivers and freebie software, and start having fun! It took me awhile to get use to the feel of it since it was my first time using a graphics tablet. I tend to use the stylus when working in Photoshop and switch to the mouse for other things like surfing the web. Overall, this is a really great product. For the average user, the responsiveness of the tablet is more than sufficient. It is sleek and doesn't take up a lot of space. I also like that it includes a stylus holder; otherwise, I might have misplaced the stylus. And if you unscrew the top of the holder, there is enough room to store those extra tips! Two thumbs up!!!"

What's great about it: better than a mouse, ergonomic feel, pressure level is wonderful What's not so great: pen holder is kinda cheesey
"This is a great product. If you want the feel and control of a pen on paper to navigate, sketch, draw or sign email you will love Bamboo. I use mine for Facebook grafitti and love it. It's works better than a mouse, but you need a day or two to get used to it. I have four tablet keys and 2 mouse buttons that I've programmed to do my most frequent keyboard commands and I have the TouchRing to zoom and scroll. I never have a sore wrist."
