What's great about it: Knowledge, friendliness and expertise.
What's not so great: Lengthy wait times.
My experience with BestBuy has been good for the most part. The wait times are ridiculously too long. I've waited in line for as long as 15-20 minutes. That may not sound long, but with low back sciatic pain, it's an issue!! The frienliness, and knowledge of the diagnostics (even over the phone!) have been very good. If the customer service wait time would improve, I'd give it 5 stars!
This service was... Great customer service, Knowledgeable agents, Worth buying, wait time too lengthy

What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Bad Process, BestBuy.Com does not talk to GeekSquad
Ordered the service, was told I'd get contacted in 48 hours; no one called. When I called, they did not have record of my service order but had charged me immediately for the order (that part amazing went quick). Finally scheduled the repair two weeks out but on the day of the repair, no call and no show... when I called again, they had no record of the order again. It took 10 days to get my money back and I had to go to a store and complian to a manager. DON'T TRUST THIS SERVICE

What's great about it: Nothing
Geek squad repaired my iMac and when I received it after two month I found some scratches on my imac , I told them about the scratches and then they resend my imac to repair again , It came after waiting 6 weeks with lot of dust inside the screen that I can see . They refuse to clean up the dust which is inside during they did repair .
I spend $100 at apple store to clean the dust inside on the screen
Geek squad sucks!

What's great about it: It should be a process to protect you from unnecessary computer repair costs
What's not so great: Length of time for repairs and inconclusive results
My computer connects to wireless, however within 1-2 hours it disconnects from wireless and sates that it cannot find any wireless networks because the wireless capability has been turned off. However, the wireless capability has not been turned off. My computer was shipped out for a period of time totaling 7 weeks without correction of this problem. At pick up upon the last attempt, it was noted that my computer is actually not experiencing hardware malfunction and that the problem is with the software. Point being, either they are not acknowledging that they created the problem or that they wasted 7 weeks of my time without cause. Either way I am left with a computer issue that is worse than when I first sought help from the GeekSquad whom I have paid a great deal of money to be of assistance. Do not use this service!

Computer crashed. Repair person arrived when he said he would. He told me everything he was doing and why he was doing it. He did many tests on my hard drive and determined that it was OK, and what the operating system (Windows XP) was defective. He was able to retrieve all my information from the hard drive and put it on an external hard drive to be placed on a new computer. I would not hesitate calling the Geek Squad again if I have problems again with my computer.

What's great about it: Location
What's not so great: Services
I took my Dell laptop to geek squad, it was still under its 1 year warranty when the hard drive crashed. Trying to check it in to geek squad alone took about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. i was then told it would be acouple of weeks before they could get it fixed. It took them about 3 weeks, when I went to pick it up they had replaced the hard drive but did not reinstall any virus protection that was on there to begin with and said that was for me to get back on there. They also did not reinstall any of my Microsoft Word, Power Point programs. So need less to say I have to yet again go back there to try and get my microsoft programs put back on. This has not only been an inconvient and aggrivating process but it has also made it harder for me to do my online school work. Do not think that I will be using geek squad again in the near future.

What's great about it: Courtesy of Service Repair Person
What's not so great: Time it took for Repair Service to be scheduled
I placed an order for the diagnostic and repair online. This process was extremely inefficient. I called geek squad to check on the order after receiving an email stating my product had shipped. I was confused as to what was shipping. I was told that a card was shipped with an order number that is required to schedule my repair. So now, I have to wait another week to receive this "card" via regular mail before the service was scheduled. Once we received the card and called Geek Squad, they didn't have any openings available until a week later. So all together, it took 3 weeks before anyone looked at the computer. Only to find out the hard drive had crashed and could not be repaired. This process should be improved to eliminate the need to wait on a card before the job is scheduled. Once the order is complete a Geek Squad representative should be able to schedule the job immediately.

What's great about it: The Geek Squad representative came when he said he would and even called first. He did what needed to be done.
What's not so great: Cannot think of a thing.
The man from the Geek Squad arrived right on time. He had asked about my computer problem on the phone when he called in advance. He got right to work. The problem was complex. (Dell service could not solve it remotely) He set up an external hard drive and saved all of the data in my computer (Sunday School lesson plans, family photos of seven grand- children and 2 great grandchildren, going back over 8 years, etc.). Then he reinstalled the operating system and several other reinstallation discs. All in all it took about 5 hours but through it all he remained upbeat, professional, and friendly. Kudos to the Geek Squad. My eternal thanks for a job well done.

What's great about it: they are everywhere.
What's not so great: the services
I took my broken computer to the geek squad, ( I bought a $400 insurance along with my computer from geek squad). They told me that my hard drive crashed and that he would take 3 weeks to repair it. Fine a little long but I guess it gives you an insantive not to destroy your computer. After 2 weeks and a half I came to the store to pick up my computer and the geek squad agents told me oups your motherboard has crashed to we need to resend it (first mistake). The agent told me we are going to resend it in express you'll have your computer in a week. I got my computer 2 weeks and a half later (second mistake/lie). I go get my computer and the geek squad agent tells me oups we do not have the CD to re-install your operation system so we can't do it and you have to order one from HP (So first you could have told me that earlier so I could get the CD earlier which would have avoided another useless delay second I had to buy a $30 cd)
So little analyze 99.9% of the computer won't crash the first 2 year and anyway you have the manufacturer warranty during this period. Now $400 of insurance + $30 of CD plus + 6 weeks of aggravation = useless insurance
with the money and what the aggravation is worth I could have bought another computer better than my 2 years old PC.

What's great about it: Excellent agent that explained what he did and had a personality.

We had a problem both with space on our desktop and our wireless connection to our laptops. The Geeksquad agent quickly fixed the wireless problem and found and sold me an external hard drive that solved our space problem and safeguarded our system and files from the inevitable crash. I would recommend the service to anyone with computer problems.

What's great about it: Didn't have to buy New Computer!
What's not so great: Living without a computer while waiting for repair!
We purchased this with a computer we bought a little over two years ago. About to give up and buy a new one, I stumbled across the paperwork and realized we had purchased the service. Well worth it! If we had had to pay for the repairs that were needed, we would had purchased a new computer. It was well worth the $299 we paid for the coverage!

What's great about it: They should have "hero" status for their expertise.
What's not so great: None
The Geek Squad knows its stuff: They "saved the day" for me when my computer froze and died an ignominious death. I thought all was lost but the Geeks lost no time in retrieving every single byte of information I needed.
The Geek Squad at Best Buy should be awarded something special for their outstanding achievements. I am thinking blue and yellow capes (to match Best Buy's colors).
