What's great about it: Easy setup, no issues
What's not so great: It has 2 internal and 2 external connections, Only 2 can be used at one time. My need was for 2 internal Hard Drives
Purchased this item on 02/23/08. I recently bought a internal 1TB hard drive to find out my 3 year old Adaptec 1205sa SATA Controller was not able to support large hard drives (1TB).
The PNY controller does support large hard drives and it works as expected. Very pleased that I can now enjoy my new 1TB Hard drive.
Before I connected my 1TB hard drive, I went to the manufactures web site and updated the SATA Conrollers BIOS and Drives. Here is where you can get the updates:
BIOS: http://www.siliconimage.com/support/supportsearchresults.aspx?pid=63&cid=15&ctid=2&osid=0&
Drivers: http://www.siliconimage.com/support/index.aspx?pid=63&cid=3&

What's great about it: Easy to install
What's not so great: A little on the pricey side if you are not going to use RAID
I put this card into a 5 year old Dell with a new 500 GB drive and it worked great. Just remember to go to Windows drive management to format the drive. It had been so long since I put in a new drive I almost forgot.
I am not using the RAID abilities of the card but I looked at the RAID setup screens and it looks easy for anyone who has worked with RAID cards and intuitive for the new user.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
