"If you want an mp3 player for music only, this is the only one you should consider. For its price (I bought it when it was 25% off), this is the best 2GB player out there. It is easy to use and is so lightweight that I hardly know I am wearing it when I attach it to an armband. I would recommend purchasing different headphones that suit you best as the included ones are of average quality and do not tend to stay in your ear when exercising."

Ok for Music; not for Audio Books02/08/2008

What's great about it: Small, Lightweight, good sound What's not so great: Short Battery Life, resets "bookmark" when charging. Can't resume or fast forward past 15 minutes into an MP3 file
"I purchased this MP3 player primarily to listen to audio books that I download, and this one one of a few that was compatible with the service. I quickly found out that if I shut the player off more than 15 minutes into a file (the files are set up like a one track CD, so approximately 1 hour long), when I turned the player back on, it had lost my place. I also discovered that there was no way to fast forward more than 15 minutes into that file; it would just jump to the next file. As a result I end up having to listen to the same part of the book multiple times unless I have the time to get all the way thru. Also I was a bit disappointed that the battery life was only about 7 hours instead of the advertised 14. Another annoying feature is that after I plug the player into my computer to recharge it; when I turn it back on, I'm back at the top menu, and I have to scroll thru the various albums(books) to find the one I was listening to, then list to the first part of each file to find where I left off. I'll have to do some more research to find a replacement, and use this just for listening to music. I does have a good sound, though I don't use the supplied earbuds."

"I have 2 ipods, one for me and one for my wife. I wanted to get something that was a little smaller and that came with a radio so I could listen to fm stations at the gym. This little player really surprised me. It has everything that an ipod has and more at half the price. This is a great buy."

"I was going to buy a ipod however, I decided to look at other mp3 players to see what was so great about the ipod.
I found this on on the internet and started doing my research. I decided that I did not want a player that plays videos because I probably wouldn't watch them. I have MobiTv and SprintTV on my Treo with a bunch of channels and I don't even watch that. So whats the point of having vdeo on my mp3.
N/E who... this morning I went into the store and spoke to the sales person who convinced me that this was a better buy than the ipod that I was going to buy and he was right !!!
First of all it is sooooo little and cute. It looks much better than the ipod shuffle and it has more memory and a screen which I thought would be difficut to read because of its small size but its very easy to read. Its ridiculously easy to put music on it. I just plugged it in and my windows media player picked it up, had a little picture of it in the corner and I just dragged all the music I wanted, some motivational speaking and part of a audio book. Its great !!! Its so great that I went back this afternoon and bought one for my son and he loves it.
I took it to the gym today and the only problem I had was the sweats I had on are weird at the top and when I started running on the treadmill the player fell off. But I just clipped it to the top of my shirt and that worked great. However, because I'm a gadget geek I went and bought the armband any way. But you really don't need it because the clip works great. I would recommend this to every one. Oh...... and did I mention that the sound on it is great. It has an equalizer and you can change the sounds to pop, rock ect... or you can customize the sound. You can also have the EQ display while it plays. Also, the radio is a great feature that the ipod didn't have and it works great.
This is the GREATEST MP3 PLAYER!!! Buy at least 2 and give one to someone you care about. Now........ I'm off to add songs to my sync list."

"The Sansa clip is a great MP3 player (I have the 2G red one). I also have a Sansa e280 that I bought a year ago. And to be honest, I tend to listen to the Sansa clip more often now because of it's size and the great sound quality. I have read a few reviews here where people complain the battery does not seem to be holding a charge. I also had this problem, but only when charging from my desktop PC (no problems at all charging with my laptop computer). It took a little tinkering around before I realized that the USB ports of my desktop PC lose power when the computer goes into hibernate mode. I disabled hibernate mode (display properties/ screen saver/ monitor power / power options) and fixed the problem. Overall, I think this is absolutely the best player in existence, for the price range."

"I got this mp3 player as a gift and was excited about the sleek design and size to facilitate my workouts. After finding that it wouldn't support WMA files (which most of my music is), I put what mp3 songs I had on the device. I listened to it for about an hour and the screen froze up. It could not be "reset" even with the special 'master reset' option. I returned it and exchanged for the exact same model. When I got home, I charged it up the first night, and not more than 5 minutes after the charge, when I tried to listen to it, it froze up again! I will never buy a device from this company ever again!!"

"Me and My sister bought two and we took them home and liked them and we were excited. Downloaded about 100 songs listened to it for a little bit and pluged both of them into my apple lap-top to exchanges songs trough the folders. Well I was charging mine and I released it from the computer and It still showed it was charging. Then I couldnt turn it off or on and couldn't play any music, radio and nothing. It was frozen and master reset didn't help and everything possible didn't work. I didn't do anything wrong. So I shaked my mp3 player like a salt shaker and heard a part moving around. My sisters mp3 player was still working so I shook up hers to hear it. Well let me tell you, once I did that we charged it and uploaded songs and it froze. The only thing I could think of is the mp3 player is to cheap and to small made with cheap parts. If you are going to get one make sure you don't shake it at all and that you remove the device correctly from your computer. I now have an iPod Touch 8 gig and I love it. No problems and its made with good parts and thats why it comes out to so much money. Its deffinatly worth it if your not scared putting some money into such a great device. Read my review for the iPod Touch and I'm sure you will want one."

What's great about it: Great size, features, menu. Love the clip. What's not so great: Battery won't hold a charge.
"I purchased this product for myself to use at the gym. It would be the perfect MP3 player if it would only hold a charge. I had to charge it just about every day for several hours in order to get it to full charge, even if it just sat idle for a day. I made sure it was powered down every time, but it would just keep discharging. I've come across several reviews on other sites reporting this exact same issue. No more Sansa audio products for me; I'll just stick to their memory cards."

"I bought this unit for my nephew and it is awsome he loves it and it is so easy for him to use (he is 6)...I saw on one review that someone did not like the unit cause the customer service with sansa was terrible....Well, if she would have gotten the 2 year replacement plan with BBY when she purchased the unit she would not have had ANY hassel and the unit would have been replaced asap!!...oh well, otherwise I would recommend this little mp3 player to everyone it is awsome for the price, and get the replacement plan, just in case, its worth the 9 bucks!!!!"

"I ordered this for my son on November 4, 2007 (received a week later). It lasted about three weeks, then the screen abruptly went out. NO damage, NO misuse/mishandling. Contacted SanDisk's "technical support" [sic] on 12/8, was told to email them a copy of my authorized retailer’s receipt, and then they'd be happy to send out a replacement without me having to return the defective. On 12/11, the "support" staff wrote me via their website-based "support message" system asking me to verify what packaging it originally came in, implying it was a refurb or gray-market product (despite the AUTHENTIC authorized retailer’s receipt already provided). I explained I ordered it from a SanDisk authorized retailer, not a third-party seller, it came in genuine retail packaging, and was NOT gray market. On 12/19, I was informed via the above-mentioned message system my trouble ticket was closed and a new RMA ticket was opened. I was also asked for the Serial Number of the product, and my phone number (both provided on 12/8, in order to even open the trouble ticket). I called in again to ask why they couldn't get the facts straight, was told that the first staff on 12/8 was wrong about me not having to return the defective, and was promptly provided the RMA and UPS label email, after the staff I spoke with saw I was right (required info already on file). On 12/26, SanDisk received my returned product. On 1/2, I inquired about replacement shipping status. I was told via the message system that it would be "5-7 days" (quote unquote) for the replacement to ship from date of receipt (12/26). Today, 1/8, I called in to find out about shipment status, and was told that it would be "7-10 days" instead, despite the message from her colleague. My kid bought this with his own hard-earned money (I simply ordered it for him), and is now out the product for nearly a month. I broke down out of sympathy for him, and bought him a Sony Walkman mp3 player at a local store to replace the Sansa Clip (at twice the price). I also called SanDisk HQ to ask about help in getting the replacement shipped ASAP. No response from SanDisk HQ in Milpitas, CA, yet. DO NOT BUY THIS product or any SanDisk products until they improve both their quality control AND their "customer service/technical support" practices. I’ve been a SanDisk “fan” of many years, but that era is over."

"This is a great MP3! I have been looking for an MP3 for a while, to upgrade from my running radio (Sony). This has been a great upgrade and the FM radio works much better than the Sony Armband Radio. The only down side was no AM radio, which was nice to listen to some talk radio while I work out. It's been only a mild inconvenience since I have been able to download clips from ESPN and other shows. Great MP3, especially for the price. I really like the clip, as it elminates the need to buy an armband and you can just clip it and head out. I would definitely recommend this one."

"I bought this today and am very pleased! I was going to get an iPod shuffle, but the Sansa Clip had a screen. This little player is extremely easy to use. I used yahoo Jukebox to tansfer the music to the player. Much to my surprise the playlists I sent are in the order I had them and are even titled the way they were in Yahoo Jukebox. I had another low-end player that I couldn't seem to get the songs in the right order or in playlists. The small size is great and the clip will be good for the gym. High quality + good price = great value for your money!"
