"I've owned three sets of laptop speakers and none have come close to the sound outputted by these small attractive speakers. There is so much power to spare that I can't crank up the volume past the half way point. The frequency range and fidelity is excellent for a 2 speaker system. I would have been delighted at the old price, but BestBuy just lowered the price to $49.99! If you need portable speakers for PowerPoint presentations with audio/video clips, these will make you very happy!"

What's great about it: Sound for size/price is good. Looks stylish. What's not so great: Have a lot of stuff in one outlet. Have a 3 way splitter, the plug is kind of wide so it takes up space on those.
"I just bought these on sale for $39.99 instead of $59.99. JBL is a quality speaker brand so I was confident in purchasing smaller speakers that would put out decent sound from them. I have limited space on my desk so I can't get too fancy with speakers/subwoofer. These smaller/stylish speakers put out excellent sound for their size/price. Definitely a satisfied customer. The Aluminum color also matches my Macbook Pro, so I am glad to have speakers that blend in with my computer and not contrast harshly.
Only dislike is that the power plug is kind of wide. I have a few things running through one outlet by my desk. So I have a 3 way splitter for one of the outlets. The plug would block one of the other outlets if used on that. And since I have a few things with oddly shaped/sized plugs it's kind of a hassle messing with all of them in one outlet. (I really need a surge protector/power strip.)"

What's great about it: clear sound, good price What's not so great: not pretty
"I was given this as a gift. I had a beautiful new 24" imac and loved how I didn't need anything extra on my desk, as the built-in speakers were loud enough and sounded nice.
Then I tried these. Sound is MUCH deeper now. I have that rich bass sound that still remains clear. There is no distortion, even at high volumes, and yes, they will work with a mac just fine.
My one gripe is that while the box says aluminum, I'm guessing thats a nice word for "grey." They are plastic and fabric. They are awkwardly shaped and placed next to my new iMac, they are quite ugly. Still, they sound so beautiful that I am going to keep them anyway. At least its an excuse to get a bigger desk.
I was very impressed by the bass that came out of these things."

What's great about it: Overall sound quaility, no distortion, perfect size What's not so great: Wish it was cheaper, but would buy them again at same price
"After reading the great reviews on Best buy and amazon, I decided to give these speakers a shot. I did not want a sub-woofer to consume more electricity then needed, just small speakers with full sound. These speakers rock! I am very happy with the purchase. They have great low base, and are plenty loud enough.. Now, I can listen to my music library without the distortion from my old cheap speakers that I paid 15 bucks for. You get what you pay for!"

"These speakers are great they are incredibly powerful for their small size i wanted speakers that had good sound quality but that didn't include the sub woofer which hurt my ears and these meet my needs perfectly if you are looking for some great 2.0 speakers that sound great than you can't go wrong with the JBL Duet 2.0 Speakers."

What's great about it: high quality nice for the price.. What's not so great: doesn`t have an headphone plug..but ok in my book.
"My old dell small speaker had that S-audio plug in so I could uses the Y-splitter so I could connect it to my 5.1 stereo..but it broke down after 5 yrs..I`ve been all over looking for something like this for a month..now I found it..nice sound..just what I needed. radio shack,curcuit city,office depot,staples,walmart,k-mart...and those other stores dont carry this...for whats out there like the creative brand that has the S-audio for $104 bucks...I stick with this one...nice one JBL."

"I love these speakers! I actually still have the original JBL Duets from '99 that I use on my pc, and they still work just as good today. When I saw that the 2.0 Duets were coming out, I HAD to get them for my mac. If you're looking for great sound, but don't want a bunch of extra components like subwoofers and extra speakers that you don't really need, then these are the speakers you want. One can always count on JBL to deliver quality sound and they never let me down. Enjoy!"

JBL Speakers Rock My World

What's great about it: The speakers are little, but produce a great sound What's not so great: The white cloth covering the speakers picks up scuffs and markings really fast!
"These little speakers are full of big sound! I was not expecting the great quality that I got. My only problem was the fact that their white cloth covering picked up scuffs and markings REALLY fast...and I don't know how to clean them. However, they are really durable! I know that I put all my gear thought a rough time, but these little speakers really stood up to everything."
