Awesome TV

Pros: picture quality
"I just bought this TV like a week ago. I am still working on discovering the features of this Samsung. I do not have HD channels or any HD/Blue Ray game box yet but I got a Upcoverter(1080p) DVD player ( also Samsung) .That is the only source of high definition I have so far. I am very impressed with the picture quality. You have to see it to belive it.It is easy to set the TV, easy to use and Aynet feature is pretty awesome too. With a good home theater system you will have a very satisfactory entertainment set. I think the price of the TV is low for the quality. I would suggest this TV to people who are searching for an HD TV. I belive Samsung is the best. Buy it, set it up and enjoy it. (after purchasing the TV, you should be ready to pay for HDMI cables for having stellar quality and they are not cheap )"

Pros: Picture,Picture,Picture Cons: Remote not the best
"Checked out alot of TV's , but I'm sure glad I bought this one for the price. Many of my friends have similar sets by different companies but they all like the picture on the Samsung better. The sound is even decent till I get some surround sound for it. Had the product for two month's and can't complain at all."

NO NEED TO CONSIDER ANYTHING BUT SAMSUNG
04/21/2008
By IBCHRISPfrom Riverside, Ca
Pros: PICTURE QUALITY AND CLARITY BEYOND ALL MY EXPECTATIONS Cons: I CAN'T WATCH IT ENOUGH
"I love the easy to use menu and set-up features it was so simple I thought I overlooked something, but I was wrong. I especially liked the 3 picture modes (dynamic, standard, & movie) and the fact that you can either use the default settings or customize them if you wish. If your'e considering a Sony (like I was) take the time to view Samsung first, you won't regret it I promise. I had a 55" Mitsu Rear projection HD that was ok but sometimes my viewing area is very bright and it was impossible to watch. The Samsung is never affected by anything even direct sunlight. Money well spent!!"

"This is an awesome HD TV. The color is outstanding, and the picture is very sharp. Watching sports on this TV is an experience that is unparrallleled.
The only drawback to this TV is that it is slow to turn on and changing channels is a little slow. I'm not sure if it is slower than other models but compared to non HDTVs it is slower.
I would reccomend this TV to anyone wanting the sharpest clearest in HDTV. Its a great value for the price as well."

Hi-def disc
Pros: Upgradable firmware via USB 2.0, powersaving, matte anti-glare screen, beautiful picture Cons: motion plus - love it or hate it
"This is my second Samsung LCD HDTV and I’ve been sold on the brand ever since my 1st gorgeous Sammy. I’ve been meaning to upgrade in size from my smaller set and the 46” seemed right since I’m within 10 feet from the TV set. Also I upgrade from 1080i to 1080 progressive naturally. I’ve been on looking for the perfect opportunity to purchase the ideal Samsung TV and then out of nowhere the 69 series from Sammy came around (prior to superbowl). The 69 models were labeled “HOT” on Sammy’s site as I was still looking and waiting around. So I looked further for more details. The 69 model mimicks the 71 series but without the screen glare and a slimmer design. Three 1.3 HDMI inputs and the USB 2.0 input make this model up to date. If there are any firmware upgrades in the future for this model, you can download from the manufacture’s site via flash drive then connect the portable drive to the TV. Also multimedia devices that use USB 2.0 can be viewed on screen. I was strongly considering the 81 series for the 500,000:1 contrast ratio and power saving LED screen but it had more cons than pros in my opinion. A 1080i interlacing flaw was prevalent in early 81 models, which were sitting in all stores at the time that I was looking. Higher pricing, poor viewing angle and the same glare as the 71 series also deterred me from that particular model. Let me say that Samsung, Sony and Sharp are very popular in the LCD market but when it comes to contrast ratio, Sammy takes the cake. 20,000:1 contrast is awesome. I was also happy to find that the 69 series was Energy Star certified to save power. Now the “motion plus” is something that you can love or hate. Not much of a problem if you dislike it after your purchase because you can always turn it off or put it to the low setting. It definitely captures motion well, though it may create a smooth and unnatural feel to some when viewing. It may not be something you want in everyday viewing. But if sports viewing is your motive then you may enjoy “motion plus” very much. The Game Mode setting is great for hi-def gaming and I would strongly suggest hooking up a hi-def video player as another way to maximize the 1080p video capability. So after for nearly 9 months of research and anticipation I’ve got my set up finally, so now I can sit back, relax and enjoy an absolutely stunning as well as beautiful HDTV. I strongly suggest this particular model to those who are pondering, just as I was, over which LCD TV to buy."

Pros: Great picture, wide angle viewing, no glare! Cons: Might be me but screen size per input is wacky.
"My wife and I shopped long and hard. Ended up on a first name basis with several representatives at both Best Buy and CC. Trust makes a difference when shopping for purchases when your not completely up to date on current technologies. In my ignorant defense, it's hard to stay up to date when technology changes so quickly. I'm sure by now most have it narrowed to whether lcd or plasma. I can vouch for the pioneer plasma. If I was going that route, it definately was the pioneer. We stayed with lcd for the size and power consumption. We finally narrowed it down to 2 different lcd brands. Samsung and Sony. Yes, I'm a believer in the Sony name. I've had good experience with their t.v.'s and audio components. The kicker for us was we just could not justify even the slightest difference in price between the XBR4 and the 4669. Yes, the 71 is brighter and will likely lend itself to a more eye-popping effect in 120hz (which I wouldn't buy a lcd without), but real world living rooms with windows will exhibit glare. I have seen the effect to the appoint of distraction. The store front doesn't give you a real world picture so your down to comparisons. Remote was simple and set-up flaw less. Blu-rays are literally the best movie nights my family and I have ever had. I'm not sure of the display settings yet but I've done very little tuning and so far all is very pleasing. Only small problem has been the display from my sat appears mis-proportioned. 16:9 or 4:3 letterbox. Haven't figured it all out yet but I believe it to be my own lack of experience. This tv has a much wider viewing angle than I expected from any set. I'm happy with this t.v. and would recommend it to anybody but, you can put me into the catatgory of buy the biggest you can afford."

Pros: Superbowl looked good Cons: blurry, blurry, blurry
"After 2 years of hesitating and planning, we took the plunge for the super-bowl weekend. We purchased this 69 series, as it was cheaper than the newer 71 series (the 81 series isn't even out yet- by order only) and we were looking for the 120 Hz, which the 65 model has only 60 Hz. Hubby is a PS3 gamer, so the 120Hz was important to him... only we did not see it set up in the store, only the 65 and 71 (and lesser models) were set up in the store. We thought that was odd, but went with it anyway, because we liked the pictures on the 65 and 71. Well, we bought all of the monster cables, and hdmi cables needed, and the picture was not great. it was so blurry, we thought we needed new glasses. Very disappointed, we called Samsung, and sure enough, they said we needed a software upgrade to correct this known flaw in this model. We still did not recieve the zip file from Samsung... Needless to say, we will now be considering the Sony Bravia xbr4 or xbr5...both models have 120Hz, also a higher price tag, but we'll see, we may end up with the Samsung 65, 60Hz and all. We have not decided yet."

Pros: Fantastic Picture, Easy Set Up
"I have been looking and purchasing HDTV's for a couple of years now and I can say that this is the BEST HDTV for the money. It out-performs other brands and Samsung prices their TVs better than Sony when comparing them spec for spec. The TV is super easy to set up. We now have 2 Samsung HD-TV's this one and the 42" in the bedroom."

This is our setup
Pros: Great Picture, good sound, easy to setup Cons: price
"I did quite a bit of research before jumping in and getting this one. The 20,000:1 contrast ratio, the 120Hz, and 1080p just produces the best picture that I have seen. I have only had it for a few days now, but there hasn't been any problems other than maybe it was too big for the room we have it in now. But I can live with that. The price was a bit heavy but luckily we got no interest until 2011, so that pretty much decided our option in going for the higher priced one. I definately recommend this HDTV to anyone as it looks great and i don't have any problem with reflections."

Pros: Great Picture Quality Cons: TV died within 24 hours
"Purchased this TV yesterday. It has a great picture and I was very happy with the purchase until tonight. While playing Wii, the screen went black. I followed all the troubleshooting recommendations, but nothing worked. I called Samsung and they told me a service call was needed. In order for me to get prompt service, I would need to call the service provider to schedule the appointment. I asked Samsung to replace the TV instead of repairing it, and I was told that they would only repair it. I guess I should have purchased the Sony XBR instead."
