I Love This System!!!

What's great about it: looks very nice on the AV rack, Blu-ray built in, built in wireless, bluetooth, easy home menu. What's not so great: i only had enough $$ to buy just one!! haha --- but no cons at all!
"Ok, first and foremost, this system rocks. period. Im not going to list all of its features because you can already just see them above. Whats nice is the bang you get for your buck. I have been wanting this system since the day news came out about a PS3 way back when.... I am an avid ps fanboy. i had to wait so long to buy the system simply because i dont like to get the first batch of ANY system, simply because of the inevitable glitches that might come. so i waited, a whole year!!! only because i really had no time to play any console, with school and work and all. Throughout that year, though, the Xbox 360 was around me more than i would have liked. All of my friends who have one of the big 3 consoles (wii, ps3, 360) have the 360! i always talked mess about it but i just always got an earful from them about how great it was blah blah. so eventually i ended up giving in and trying it out. and guess what, i liked it. i played gears of war, fifa 08, madden 08, and of course halo3. i was actually impressed. so more and more i was just leaning towards buying it because of experience an PRICE....until two weeks ago, i was at BB and i just saw the ps3 staring at me. so i got it!!! best decision i made all year!!! i ended up Saving $$! this beast already has hi def bluray built in and wireless networking, built in!!! and i love the media server feature from the home screen. i can access ALL of my pictures, music, and videos that are on my laptop in another room....through my network! the system is great!! beautiful blu-ray hi def on my 40" samsung lcd, i bought Call Of Duty 4 too. THE GREATEST GAME IVE EVER SEEN, PLAYED AND OWNED. PERIOD. this game is addicting and looks and sounds gorgeous! after everything was said and done, i spent 600 bucks (console, game, extra controller, hdmi cable) and it was worth every last penny!"

"I had my PS3 for about 1 year, the system stopped reading my cd media. I contacted sony and they told me that I had to pay to get it fixed. The system is handled by adults. I found out that many people are having the same problem with their system. I can't believe that Sony wants to charge a lot of money for something defective on their hardware. I'm very disappointed with them. I would never recommend anyone to buy a PS3 ever."

"I recently purchased the PS3 40 Gb console. It works great with PS3 games, but is not backwards compatible with PS2 games at all. I have several older games that the family loves and I don't to give them up yet. Likewise, I don't want to have 2 different consoles hooked up to the TV either. If you want backwards compatibility, look CAREFULLY at the different PS3 models before you buy one. Even among the 80 Gb models, most will not play older games. In fact, only MODEL # CECHE01 will be backwards compatible. Sony states that they are not interested in providing any software emulation updates for non-compatible models. Let my bad luck be your "lesson learned". Do your homework and shop carefully if you are looking to play older games on your PS3."

"All tho i still play my 360 more ps3 is a good system. Able to get me some blu ray movies now which is my favorite part of the ps3. Dissapointed best buy didnt have any 80gb in stock when i bought it cause i would have bought that instead of the 40gb cause i dont have much space left and i only have like 3 games... If your looking to get a blu ray player ps3 is the way to go cause you get much more then a ordinary blu ray player."

"This is the ultimate gaming, Blu-ray combo. It's too bad Sony can't come out with new gaming titles fast enough. And make sure you have a lot of open area in the back of your PS3, it puts out a lot of heat. But it does not cause any problems what so ever. With this hooked up with a HDMI cable to an HD TV, the picture quality is simply amazing!"

"I got one of these for my son and put it on the HD TV downstairs. After about 2 months, I decided I wanted to get a BD player for my LCD upstairs and after some online shopping as well as a couple store visits, realized another PS3 was the way to go. While I got it primarily for the BD HD movie playback, I find I've been playing some games and using it for occassional web-surfing. The quality of this console is enough alone, but include a BD player, wireless internet access, wireless controllers by default and its sleek looks on the shelf, this quickly becomes a hands-down no-brainer purchase."
