SynopsisExperience an intense, story-driven, first-person shooter in Turok. Travel to a dark, mysterious planet in the future and take on the role of Joseph Turok, a former black ops commando and current member of an elite special forces squad known as Whiskey Company. The squad seeks to take down war criminal Roland Kane, Turok's former mentor and leader of a group of lethal soldiers. While Turok and his men scour the planet for Kane, Whiskey Company's ship is shot down, leaving the crew stranded after the crash. Now Turok must use his elite military training to evade Kane's deadly army, the Mendel-Gruman. There are also genetically altered dinosaurs, huge insects and other ravenous creatures that populate the alien environment. In order to complete the mission, survival must be Turok's top priority. Witness the deep plot unfold through dramatic cut scenes and cinematic flashbacks. Strategy is the key to success in combat — decide whether excessive firepower or stealth kill techniques are more appropriate for each enemy. Artificial Intelligence makes both human and nonhuman foes react dynamically to your movements in gripping fight sequences. Defend yourself with the clever Dino Luring technique to make the unpredictable dinosaurs attack human enemies or other creatures. Take the action online in chaotic 16-player battles that include additional creatures not found in the offline mode.

What's great about it: Amazing gameplay, Incredibly Fun, and Worth Every Penny. What's not so great: Laggy Multiplayer
"As a kid I absolutely loved dinosaurs. This game brought back some of those wonderful memories and added new ones. While playing Turok it gives you a feeling of always wondering what can be lingering behind you. It keeps you tense most of the way through the game. This is by far one of the best games I have ever played. I have played all of the older Turok’s for the N64 and they where fun but this one introduces much more exciting exciting game play and one of the best parts is a new “primal” weapon… The knife. This has to be one of the most incredible secondary weapons in gaming. It is an absolute blast to use and NEVER gets old. The only thing I don't like about the game is that the multiplayer gets a little laggy sometimes but still completely playable. Overall Turok is an incredible experience and by far my game of 2008 and I would definetly recommend this to anyone."

What's great about it: Graphics, story, Enemies, Guns, COOP maps What's not so great: Aiming, Sparks on humans, doesnt feel like turok
"Turok hasn't had a new release in a while in fact i think i know the reason why. There was no way to make the games any better than they were back on the Nintendo 64. If i had to say i think Developers got lazy when they made turok but that would be to harsh.
So the gameplay is fun and all but im just going to point out its not like turok at all. Sparks come out of humans...explain to me how that happens. The dinosaurs are cool since u can use ur knife to assassinate them which is fun. But the aiming throws this game off a bit because it gets ridiculous to try and shoot someone or something and then miss everytime or most of the time since u will have to spray ur ammo just to hit something.
Multiplayer wasnt that great nothing new but i liked the addition of having dinosaurs on the map so that makes it like having environmental disasters."

What's great about it: cool wepons, giant dinos, pretty cool gameplay What's not so great: bad graphics, killing enemies are easy, pretty easy
"this is the best dinosaur game i've ever played, not that i've played much. but its really cool. the weapons are really cool to kill people with and watching the dinosuars kill the people is really cool. i really loved the giant t-rex that you had to kill. a pretty good boss fight. but the game was pretty easy to beat. and the graphics did sort of look bad. but even though it has some ups and downs, its a really great game you have to get."

What's great about it: Some great voice acting; reasonably attractive environments; brutal stealth-kill animations. What's not so great: Wildly oscillating difficulty; horrifying textures on some characters; too little direction given.
"Surprisingly, the combination of dinosaurs, strapping Native American protagonists and hardcore firepower is quite hit or miss when it comes to raw gaming satisfaction. There's no better example than the Turok series, which has a history of turning what seems like a sure thing into bland first-person outings which inspire little more in players than blinding, controller-hurling rage. The new Turok marks another intensely mixed outing. For example, forcing gamers to play through the same stupid bug fight for the fortieth time is insanely frustrating. At the same time, adding cool stealth-kill animations and decent multiplayer slightly increases the game's value, elevating it, just barely, to somewhere around average."

What's great about it: stealth killing moves, graphics, ok online play What's not so great: guns are not that realistic, aiming is very wierd and slow,
"When i bought this game i thought it was really cool, but my mind changed a little after playing it for a while, the stealth killing move are awesome. but the aimnig is very slow and wierd( sorry i can explain it any other way). its fun killing the prehistoric creatures,but i wish they could have made the guns and the firing more realistic, the grenade throwing takes some getting used to, to me the story mode moves kind of slow, this game was an ok buy but was dissapointing to me"

What's great about it: Graphics are amazing, gameplay - stabbing dinos, story, weapons. What's not so great: couple of glitches, gunfire is too low.

What's great about it: great graphics with HDTV What's not so great: same old shoot them up
"This is a game that is great if you enjoy shooting at dinosaurs and humans. The graphics are great if you have an HDTV and it's even better with a big screen. However, this was my first time playing any Turok game, and i was bored after a while, it's the same thing over and over. Shoot bad guys and shoot dinosaurs that are trying to eat you. Repeat. Gears of War was a better buy than this, but again, if you are a huge Turok fan, then it is worth it for the 360."

"If you were a Turok fan for N64 than I would recommend this game to you because you are the type who will appreciate this unique blend of shooter and jurassic slayer. But if the word turok doesnt meant anything to you from your childhood that i would say you may lack the motivation to go through some of the more tricky parts of the game when you keep respawning from an unusually distant save point. The multiplayer aspect of the game is pretty weak as well, with small online game rooms, choppy graphics, glitchy foes, and poor control. The bright side is stabbing raptors in the skull will never get old to me... never..."

"As a single player game it's not worth the money, wait for it to drop in price. As a co-op don't bother waisting your money! Combined me and my friend paid alot of money for two Turok games because it said it was co-op. It is NOT co-op!!! What a waste of money! To the game makers FYI: co-op is when two or more people can meet online and play the storyline together! Not some dumb capture the flag garbage or shoot everyone in the head game! Come on how many times can one do that, how boring?! If you're looking for a good co-op game check out GEARS OF WAR or HALO 3. Hopefully ARMY OF TWO will bring us a good co-op game that we can meet online and play the storyline together?"

"Do NOT buy this game, i wouldn't even rent it. I played this game for about 20 minutes then took it and traded it in. Turok on 64 was horrible, i don't know why everyone would think this one would be better. Paying 60 bucks for a game of this quality is crazy, spend your money on a game that's worth it."

"Being use to Halo and Gears of War and wanting to the lunging of my attack the same it is hard to get use to and the sensitivity of the crosshair trying to shoot from long distances is harder. Otherwise I love the game great graphics and gameplay haven't gotten all the way through it yet but am excited about finishing it and playing the online mode"
