What's great about it: Everything.
What's not so great: Nothing ... Yet !
The Wacom Gods Have Spoken ! (Praising ... Awhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)
It's a powerful photo editing and animation tool which works flawlessly on Adobe PSE,Gimp,Photoscape,Picasa3,Blender,iClone,Daz3D,Lightwave & Maya to just a name a few that I use ... and because I use multiple monitors/computers on my desk I can easily switch between them .
I like the fact that unlike a tablet pc you are not limited to editing on just one system, it's like having a tablet PC on any computer you work on even on your large LCD TV (if you were to hook one up to your PC for presentational purposes).
They engineers perfected the overall design and the functionability of it, .... in short, with so many positive reviews of people praising it ... so many can't be wrong and with Wacom being in this business since the 1980's with virtually no competitors ... they've mastered and dominate this market.

What's great about it: Everything.
What's not so great: Misconstrues letters I write.
This is my first tablet and it was so easy to use. I've fallen in love with it. The screen thing is just magnificent! It's great for drawing. I don't really like how it misconstrues letters/numbers when I use it to write type words. Overall, I love it!!

What's great about it: Easy to use, easy to set up, lots of fun, resiliant
What's not so great: Hah, gets fingerprints on it easily. That's about it.
I'll start out by saying I love this tablet, and I'm really glad I bought it. It installed easily on windows XP. I had to download a newer driver for Windows 7, but the tablet works even better with 7 (and Vista, I would assume) because that OS actually has built-in features meant for tablets and tablet PCs.
I'm already planning on using Microsoft OneNote on my laptop with the tablet to take notes when classes start up in August. It's much easier to draw circuit diagrams with the Bamboo than with my tablet PC or mouse.
I think the most important thing to keep in mind with this tablet is this: DO NOT expect to be amazing at it the second you start using it! ESPECIALLY for drawing! It takes a lot of time and practice getting used to a different medium. So remember: practice, practice!
One of the best things about this tablet is that there's a lot you can change. You can change what the buttons do, including keystrokes! I set one to "ctrl-z". If you notice that you press really hard or really softly on the tablet, you can adjust the sensitivity as well. There's more, and it's all really helpful.
Also, I read one review saying the tablet was difficult to use with large screens/the active area was quite small. It is small. I knew that when I bought it; thats why it was so much cheaper than the others. However, I haven't had any issue with the active area being too small, even with my screen resolution at 1680 by 1050.
I'm sure there's more to say, but I can't think of any. I love the tablet, it works great.

What's great about it: It's easy to use and doesn't take up much space
What's not so great: The screen size on the tablet is smaller than it looks
Reading all the reviews didn't really help my decision to pick a Wacom tablet. So i had to take a gamble with this one and believe me....I'm satisfied with it. Sooner or later when i do more professional work i'll buy a bigger tablet but for a first timer and someone with not a lot of complicated animation work to do. This tablet is the most efficient.

What's great about it: Able to use like a pen
What's not so great: Not enough room on the pad, difficult to use with larger screens
For a laptop this works great. However there isn't a lot of room on the pad since the active area is only 5 x 3. I would recommend getting the larger pad if you want to use larger screens so that you don't have to take the pointer to the top of the pad then move back down to get it to a point beyond the end of the pad on your screen ( if that makes sense..) But it's good for the price if you're on a budget.

What's great about it: easy to install, easy to use, affordable, everything
What's not so great: absolutely nothing
I bought this tablet this morning and am already using it with ease. The installation took about 5 minutes. There is a tutorial that you have to do which takes about 15 minutes or so depending on your speed. This tablet is so easy to use. You don't need to buy the one that comes with the mouse because the pen completely replaces it. If you don't use it for the pen pressure feature when drawing, then you can put it on "mouse mode" and the pen moves the cursor the way that a normal mouse does instead of having the cursor location depend on the pen location. I thought that the size was going to be a problem, but it is just right. This was the best purchase I have made in a long time.

What's not so great: There is Nothing that isn't great about it.
I questioned whether this product could really do what it says it does; Yes it does. It is touch sensitive and works like writing on paper except that the image shows up on your computer screen. Wish I'd found this sooner. I am in computer heaven !

What's great about it: Cordless Pen and more...* read review below
What's not so great: Setup time is fast , but getting used to it is not
Cordless pen is nice, it has a almost very expensive feel to it, not like a piece of plastic ( even though it is plastic). Feels expensive, very Durable, I've dropped it many a time on accident and still works like it came out of box. worth the money

What's great about it: Works like a charm, compact, price is great, no batteries needed for the pen.
What's not so great: I couldn't find anything bad worth mentioning.
This tablet is simply incredible. It works beautifully with Photoshop, and helps me make great textures for my 3d models.
The tablet is very compact, and is lightweight, yet of very high quality. It's extremely sensitive, so you're able to just hover your pen above the surface to navigate, and then push down on the surface to simulate a left click. The pressure sensitivity is a very valuable tool, and is extremely helpful when using Photoshop.
The device itself is just very simple to use, and works almost exactly like a real pencil or pen. It even has a thicker tip on the other end that works as an eraser by default!
The size of the active area on the tablet doesn't really bother me much. It's less movement, and I write small anyway. Since each corner on the tablet matches up with each corner on the screen, it's very easy to guess where you need to move the pen on the tablet to get to another part of the screen.
Because of the other buttons on the tablet, it can even be used for basic gaming. I played Spore using the tablet for a while. Speaking of buttons, the forward and backward buttons on the tablet are very useful when using the internet. I'm used to using 5 button mice, with two buttons as forwards and backwards, so having the equivalent on this tablet is great.
The tablet doesn't really take a lot of work to learn to use, and is no harder than drawing on a sheet of paper. What you can do with it is limited on how steady a hand you have and how good at drawing you are.
I would recommend this tablet to anyone.

What's great about it: Note-taking on *.PDF documents is flawless
What's not so great: Pen ergonomics could be better
I don't think most people understand what this device is and how it works. Basically it is a fancy mouse replacement that allows you to use a pen to draw in various applications, and will translate handwriting into text as well.
As a medical student, this is the best tool that I have to take copious notes on PDF slides (and other software applications) without having to print anything or carry an armada of colored pens and highlighters.
Consider that you can email notes to classmates or print paper notes in various sizes.
This application replaces the need to switch to a tablet PC, eliminating issues with worn out LED screens, the additional expense, etc. There is no need to purchase a larger tablet. The tablet surface is mapped to the image on your screen. A larger tablet would mean more wrist and elbow movements, which for note-taking purposes is unnecessary.
There is a software out there called PDF Annotator which allows you to write on PDF files and save them as a PDF file, too. This software runs between about 35 (for a student) and 60 dollars directly from the publisher and is a good alternative to One Note, if all you want to do is edit and save your PDF.
Microsoft has a free upgrade to Office that will allow you to save any office document in PDF form as well.
You can fill out PDF documents and sign them, instantly ready for electronic fax purposes, too.

What's great about it: Sleek design, price
What's not so great: Takes some practice, long installation
I bought this tablet for use online at www.isketch.net playing online pictionary as well as for Adobe Photoshop. It is sleek, compact, and light weight...almost feels like you'll break it easily but it is very durable. It takes some practice getting used to the pen and perfecting your electronic art skills takes a little time, but for the price you can't beat it. The tablet size is perfect for beginners and more than enough room for me to use. The only negative is that the installation takes a little time to complete... that's all.

What's great about it: great design, easy to setup, easy to use
What's not so great: nothing that practice will fix in time
A lot of the reviewers here really have already hit on all the good points. The reason am doing a review is because am so impress with the quality and overall designed structure of the product.
For $70.00, I was expecting something cheap and plastic looking. This tablet is designed to look very sleek. Pictures don;t do it justice. The setup was way easy and the software installation was a no brainer. looks very high end and impressive on the desk.
It works very smoothly. I thought I would need the larger version but the truth is the small version does the job well. HAving such a great experience with this one...I may invest in a higher end wacom tablet in the future.

What's great about it: I love how it's so thin, light, portable, fun.
What's not so great: It's perfect, there's nothing wrong with it!
I'm only 11 years old and I ordered this great product. I consider myself highly intelligent for my age, but, however, it took me a couple of minutes to get used to how it works. I use it all the time and it is so much fun to draw with! My sisters laugh at the fact that they can't understand how simple it is to use it. It is definately worth the price, so BUY IT!!! :]

What's not so great: Pen tends to slip out of hand easy and the button on the pen gets annoying when drawing
This tablet is exceptional for begining graphics artists! I purchased this offline and after much trial with best buy finally got it delivered to my home!
I had never used a tablet before and thought it may be tricky to get used to it, but no the Wacom Bamboo is easy to use within the first few days!
I strongly suggest trying out this cheaper smaller tablet before purchasing one of the larger more expensive tablets.

What's great about it: Usablity, Ease, Compatibility with Vista/MacOsx/Office2007
What's not so great: doesn't come with software applications
Easy to install. You plug into USB, put the cd in the disc drive and it quickly installs the drivers needed. Also has a quick tutorial to learn basic functions and to tell you how to program the keys on the tablet to do what you want.
When you hold the pen tip over the tablet about 1/2 an inch above the tablet (not touching it) it works as a mouse. However, it is a little different from a mouse. If you lift a mouse and place it back on a different spot on your desk then the cursor on the screen is still in the same spot. The Bamboo tablet uses absolute positioning... So if you lift the pen away and bring it back to another spot on the tablet, the cursor on the computer screen moves to the corresponding spot. Some may think this is too hard to get used to... then you might want to pay a little more for the Bamboo Fun which comes with a mouse. The pen itself has two (programmable) buttons that let you get the menus you usually get when you right click with a mouse. You are also able to scroll (in internet pages/documents) with the pen and drag icons like you would with a mouse.
If you have Vista (any edition but Home Basic), you can use the tablet with the applications that come with the operating system: handwriting recognition software (pretty cool and user-friendly, inputs into most any text field), Windows Journal (looks like notebook paper on your computer screen, can copy/paste into other programs), and Sticky Notes (looks like a post-it that you can add recordings to if you have a microphone).
Also works with all Office 2007 programs, you just write in the documents... pretty simple.
When you buy the tablet, you can receive discounts on software listed here... http://www.wacom.com/privileges/bamboo.cfm?tablet=bamboo
...for those who don't have Windows Vista, Mac OSx, or office 2007 and would like handwriting recognition, graphic design, or notetaking software.
I should note too, that while you are writing on the tablet and the words appear on the screen -- may take some getting used to, takes some hand-eye coordination. If that sounds too difficult for you, you might want to consider those clear tablets that go right over the screen or buy a tablet pc where you can write on the screen directly (you don't get the pen and paper feel with tablet pc's tho, you have to press relatively hard).
Overall, great tablet, very reasonably priced for the quality you get.
