What's great about it: Great selection of songs, great game for multiplayer, good graphics What's not so great: Drums produce loud noises when hit, the bottom fret buttons on the guitar are useless, bad response at times
"I had a lot of fun with this game with my friends. It's not all that fun alone however, you can always play online. The song selection is great ranging from classic rock to modern day rock. Not to many challenging songs because it's a band oriented game. Even with the lag calibration, the response seems to be off no matter how perfect I tried, hammer ons can be difficult to perform especially on the rock band guitar, the guitar hero guitar works better. Overall: Rock Band was fun and it's worth the $180 dollars i spent on it."

What's great about it: lots of fun, What's not so great: bulky to transport place to place
"This is a really fun game. i got my dad to play which is really difficult to get my dad to play video games. every time i bring my xbox/rock band home he immideatly wants me to hook it up for him to play. my little 7 year old cousin even likes playing this game so this game is great for all ages and the different difficulty can accomidate most everyone"

What's great about it: good instruments many people can play What's not so great: drums are kinda loud
"YES, drums are kinda loud BUT i can teach you to fix that.You will need for socks or clothes, and for rubber bands. First lay the socks or cloth on each of the drums. next rubber band them to each drum and wal-ah you have quieter drums.NOTE: the more socks or cloth you put on the quieter it will be. "First things first, this game is awesome when with a group of friends that want to stay in and let the inner rocker loose. it might get alittle loud with all the singing and drum beating, but the fun and memories are well worth the noise complaints. my only pet peeve is that the guitar is not compatible with any guitar hero games, but the guitar hero guitar is compatible with rock band. other then that i havent had any real problems other then my manager telling me to keep it down."

"This is an amazing game. Loads of fun. The guitar feels less plasticy and light than the guitar hero guitar. It has a good weight, and nice size. Something I have problems with is the small frets. They are great but, are hard to reach on solos. especially on solos that start out quickly.The drums could be quieter.The drums are also hard to set up. The guitar's whammy bar is also a problem. If you press it too hard, it'll break. Get the warranty."

"Rock band is a good game to play with friends and family. I find it a little boring to play on your own. There is no story. It is just playing all the song in order. Very repetitive. Sometimes i feel the drums aren't working correctly. Like I'll be in the middle of a song, then all of a suddenly I'll start to fail. Very strange and annoying. The first rock band i got, the star power didn't work. When tilted up it did not activate. Fortunately i purchased the product replacement plan which you should too. It is almost always needed. I think it offers very dumb and hard achievements. Not set up right. Wait for rock band 2. Should be much better."

"I originally was big on Guitar Hero and heard about a new game that was coming out called Rock Band. I was kinda hesitant at first in thinking of a game that could incorporate drums and a microphone into a game, along with a guitar. My friend bought it when it was first released and invited me to come over and try it with him. We started a band with me on guitar and him and drums and have been playing ever since. Rock Band incorporated with Xbox Live is great where you always download additional songs to play. Songs go from anywhere from The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter to Metallica - Enter Sandman. A must-have for any gamer/music-lover."

""Rock band is the best game I have played in a long time. I enjoy all sorts of games and thought the idea of playing fake instruments was stupid. I tried a demo of it at Best Buy and just had to have it. I got it for Christmas and play it all the time still. There is a lot to do with single player as well as with a group. The game comes stock with 58 songs dating anywhere from the 60's till now. So as you can see there is a wide range of music. Aside from that, there is new music to download and play released every Tuesday for Rock band. You do have to pay for the songs but there are more songs you can download at this point then came with the game. They are even starting to release full albums of playable music for Rock Band. The guitar that comes with Rock Band is in my opinion a lot better then the Guitar Hero III guitar, but there are people that disagree with this, if you happen to be one of them there is good news for you; you can use the Guitar Hero II and III guitars on this game, great as a second guitar if you already have one. The guitar that comes with the game has a very sturdy Whammy bar and the strummer doesn’t give you calluses on your thumb for using it hours at a time. Also it has low frets on the neck near the bottom which can be used to make solo’s easier, or for the younger rock band player. The drums are 4 pads and a kick pedal, also comes with real drumsticks. It is a lot of fun to play with, but some people do complain about how unrealistic the drums are. In my opinion, they may not be real, but you can certainly imagine playing the drums when you use them. It is a game after all. The microphone … well, it’s a microphone. During tambourine or cowbell times in the song you tap it to make those sounds. Playing by yourself, there is a Solo tour for Guitar, Drums, and Microphone (not one for Bass, but you can picks songs to play solo). I recommend going through the training before playing any of the instruments, then go through the solo tour. There are 4 difficulties (Easy, medium, hard, and expert) to go through and believe me; you will want to master one before going onto the next. If you have 4 people and have an extra guitar (you can use one from Guitar hero if you already have one) you can go through a world tour working your way up from no-names to rock stars. Each person plays one of the 4 instruments and work together to build up the score of the song and make sure your band mates don’t fail out. You have to have at least 2 local people in order to do this (unless you want to sing and play the guitar or bass at the same time), as it is the multiplayer tour. I do believe they should have let you have people join you over x-box live, but you can play single songs online with up to 3 other people as a band, just not in a tour. Also, you have an option to play online matches against other players (guitar against guitar, drums against drums, etc…). After all of this the achievements are immense and very fair. There are a lot of different achievements for all of these different things to do. I really recommend this game to anyone who enjoys music. You should have loads of fun with this game.""

"This game is just flat out fun. The whole family can get involved as each member of the family takes on a role in a band. The game comes with one guitar, drum set, and a microphone. Out of the box your band could have a lead guitarist, vocalist, and drummer. With the purchase of another guitar or if you already have a Xbox 360 Guitar hero guitar you can also have a bass player. The game has lots of great songs to play and you can also purchase alot of additional songs to download."

"So Rock Band has gotten a lot of attention, and rightfully so. Plain and simple, Rock Band is an amazing game experience. Taking what made Guitar Hero fun, and adding more instruments, and therefore a stronger social aspect, RB elevates music games to another level. The set list, like any music game, is pretty subjective, but I feel Harmonix made excellent choices here. Keeping in mind that there must be a balance of fun factor for not just the guitar now, but also vocals and drums (plus bass...), they did a great job with the track selection. RB also has an excellent and very robust download aspect, and offers a huge library of songs, so you will no doubt find something to your liking. The only real downside to the game is some of the aspects involving the physical instruments. The drums are pretty good, just be easy on the pedal, but my main complaints would be directed toward the new Stratocaster guitar model. Though this new Axe looks nice, it doesn't feel as solid as any of the Guitar Hero guitars. The strum bar has a lot of slop, the whammy bar is also loose feeling, and the fret buttons can be really hard to get used to. Still, it is serviceable, but I would suggest using one of the GH3 Gibson Wireless guitars to get the most out of the game, and relegate the included Stratocaster to Bass duty. Ultimately, Harmonix has made a product that is pure genius here, and is arguably the best party game ever made, not to mention one of the best, if not the best, music game ever. (At this point, you may want to wait for the Rock Band 2 set, so you can get the new improved instruments, and just pick up the RB1 disc)"
