What's great about it: the idea What's not so great: comes with defective software disc-i.e. the game itself!
"my son had wanted this for a v ery, very long time. i bought one at another store, same bundle, had to return it, because the actual game disc (software) was defective, and the playstation could not read it. i brought it back. i went to bestbuy, bought it here, figured, the online place (not bestbuy) was selling defective products-guess what? same thing-we get home, set up the drims, guitar, etc., son puts the disc in the playstation, SAME, EXACT ERROR MESSAGE, i.e. that the disc can not be read by the ps..went online, no useful "support" there either-brought the second one back as well, never buying it again anywhere! would strongly suggest others not waste money on this "special" edition either-obviously, the "special" aspect of it is that the disc won't work!"

What's great about it: Great game. Alot of songs to entertain many. What's not so great: The bass petal on the drums breaks easily when your rocking out haha...
"I was very wary about buying this game for fear that it wouldn't live up to what Guitar Hero had introduced to the gaming industry. I was completely blown away. This game has it all, from your new modern rock, to your underground bands, to my personal favorite, classic rock. I did not expect The Rolling Stones to have a song on there. I was a little disappointed about there being NO storyline, just song lists. But the variety of the songs over-threw that aspect of the game. A must have for anyone who enjoys Guitar Hero and wants to jam out with a few friends."

"This is a fun game that is similar to the ps3 and 360 version, but it would be alot better with the features it lacks. There is no downloadable content, so you will be playing the songs over and over unless you buy the track pack. It also doesn't have online play, which is one of my favorite things to do because you can play against other people. Another small thing it lacks is custom characters. It isn't a huge thing, but it is very fun to make your own characters and then get different clothes for them, etc. Overall, if you don't have a different console, I would get it. But you also have to remember that Rock Band 2 comes out in about a month or so. It might just be better to wait for that instead of getting this although this will be cheaper."

"Rock Band rocks!
Sure this might be a bare bones version of the PS3/XBox 360 versions, but us PS2 owners are not left empty handed by a long shot.
There are enough songs right out of the box to keep you busy through 4 instruments and then 4 levels of difficulty. That is a lot of game play.
The major selling point of the pack is group play. Once you get someone to join you on the other instruments, you are hooked! And so are they!
My brother-in-law tries to find sneaky ways to come over and play "Oh, I was just in the neighborhood." That is how addicting this game is."

What's great about it: Really great family entertainment. What's not so great: ps2 version is not as great as ps3/360 version.
"It really is fun to play. It definitely became an instant bond for the family. It rocks! The only thing that could have been done to make it better is if ps2 players can take advantage of the ps3/360 version like customizing characters and venues and maybe more. What's great about it: Lots of instruments to choose from and hours of fun and it hold replay value! What's not so great: None really, some of the songs were left to be desired but hey that happens with any game like this really!
"My friends and I played this game for hours upon hours every weekend and after our work day was over we were right there again jammin out. "With my daughter (9) on vocals and son (12) on drums and myself (over 40) on guitar/bass we all thought we were in a band!! How cool is that. Very very cool!! First time my son and I played we went for 7 hours we didn't even realize we missed lunch and dinner. We will buy the extra guitar. I think RB is alot funner than other guitar game out there."

"Even though this game does not have the perks of the one for PS3 or Xbox 360, it is still a good game for the price I paid. I wouldn't pay original price because of the features it does lack, so when it went on sale, I didn't hesitate. This game is fun to play alone or with others. I have been playing every day since I got it on 6-20-08. Everything has worked perfectly, no problems at all!!! As far as the guitar goes, that everyone hates, it is not bad. I have been using the one that came with GH3 for a while, so I am used to that. So it's all a matter of getting used to it. Overall I think it's great even considering what's missing!!!!"

"ok so i buy this game and i get everything setup then i put the game in and it wont work! so i reread the directions and see if i have evevrything hooked up right and i do i hit restart on my ps2 either 4 or 5 times and for some strange reason the game works but then when i try again about an hour later the thing doesnt work again! overall DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!"
