Looks cool but unwieldy
12/26/2008
By Shawn6621

What's great about it: Looks cool and has innovative design
What's not so great: Way uncomfortable. Needs a shoulder stock. That'd probably make it a 5 star product.
"Games aside, the Zapper needs some tweaking in design to make it more comfortable and stable. Shouldr stock number 1. I think Nintendo should dump the nunchuck and put the movement and auxilliary buttons on the side of the frame. Look at the Guitar Hero guitars. It can be done. It is just too uncomfortable for me to enjoy using it."

What's great about it: The zapper is really easy to put together and the game is really fun
What's not so great: I havent found anything bad about the game or the gun
"I bought this item a week ago and love it. The zapper gun is very easy to put together. Just need the wii controller and the nunchuck. This is the first 2nd game I bought and will be looking for more games that involve using this gun. My 4 year old daughter even likes shooting the targets."

Game doesn't work
10/12/2008

"I haven't had this zapper but one day actually one hour and after we set it up the "free" game didin't even work. I get an error. All my other games work. So, we exchanged it the next day, went home and guess what the game does not play..again. Another error. So I am not sure if the Wii Zapper itself works or is a good item to buy. All I know is that the Link's Crossbow Training game doesn't work."

Wii Zapper
07/29/2008
By kingkang
|
What's great about it: bonus game
What's not so great: putting in nunchuck takes long, feels weird to aim with
"If you're serious about playing shooting games, I would recommend the wii perfect shot instead. The zapper is awkward to hold and takes long to put in nunchuks with the cords inside. Fun to play around with, yet it's sort of weird. However, the link's crossbow training game is very fun and entertaining."

Fun Bonus Game
07/22/2008
By JPinoy
|
What's great about it: It comes w/ a bonus game.
What's not so great: It's awkward to hold.
"I got this game to use for House of Dead and I found it awkward to hold. I found the cable that connects the nunchuk to the controller to get in the way, and it's really annoying. And when I disconnected the nunchuk and removed it from its slot, since you don't need it to play the game, it was also awkward b/c the grip was missing something (the nunchuk). And it also felt like the gun was pointing lower than where I think I was pointing it... if that makes sense. I think there are beter guns out there for the purpose that I bought this gun.
However, the bonus game it comes with is fun. It's definitely worth the $20 for the game and the gun to use with it."

Novelty more then a necessity
05/12/2008

What's great about it: Neat design, can help with accuracy, Zelda Training is fun
What's not so great: Wrapping the nunchuck cord can be a slight pain
"Overall, this does what it's intended to do. It doesn't add new abilities, or combos, or anything new. It just helps enhance and add a little realism to what you already have and do.
Zelda Training game is actually pretty fun, and you can use that as a gauge if you like the zapper or prefer without it.
It's a very neat thing to have, and adds some realism and 'that look' to it. So I would suggest it, even though I would not consider it a 'must-have' accessory."

What's great about it: Fun for all ages
What's not so great: Short game
"This game awards accuracy over speed, but of course it's best to have both. Kids will like the target practice aspect of this game."

Another handy accessory for the Wii
04/30/2008
By loesjoel

What's great about it: Solid build Zapper
What's not so great: It's only a shell
"The Wii is a system of accessories. There are three different first party remotes, a plethora of third party controllers, dance pads, guitars and now a Zapper! Retro gamers will enjoy the feel of holding a plastic gun in their hands again reminiscent of the Zapper for Duck Hunt on the original NES. This plastic shell (and nothing more) of a Zapper has a slick form factor and matches the rest of the Wii arsenal perfectly.
The pack in game, Link's Crossbow Training is a highly entertaining demo game. It's a fully realized 3D shooter featuring Link from the Legend of Zelda series. With mutliple control schemes and multiplayer action, it's a great value for a demo pack in game.
For those looking for a more old school or arcade feel to their light gun games on the Wii, this is a definite must buy. However, it is just a sleeve for the Wii remote, so it doesn't add any new abilities to the Wii remote, but it definitely feels good!"

A Necessity for Shooters
04/24/2008
By Soulja

|
What's great about it: Easy Control, accurate, easy assemble/disassemble, can stuff nunchuck cord inside it, doesn't need batteries!
What's not so great: Doesn't shoot real arrows or bullets
"The Wii Zapper is a must have for those who dont want to shoot real bullets or arrows at their tv. I would say it's accuracy is probably the best feature on it. I have tryed Link's Crossbow Training without the Zapper and it is more difficult to aim the targets. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to have fun on their Wii and expand their collection of games!"

more than a zapper
04/21/2008
By Chisei
|
"Alright so if you're like me you probably looked at this product and said "What in the world do I want a zapper for?" Well truthfully the answer to that is nothing really, except the game that comes with it. Now zapper aside Link's crossbow training is an amazing game, it's tons of fun. I've spent many hours enjoying myself playing this game, unfortunately the multi player is not very good but then I remind myself that the game was 20$. This game provided for more entertainment that even some of my full priced games, so in my opinion for the amount you're spending to get this it is a an absolute must have game."

Could be worth it
03/22/2008
By BlakeB

What's great about it: Novelty factor, makes some games more fun
What's not so great: Shape, makes some games less fun
"I bought the Zapper thinking that it would improve my experience with my shooter games and increase replayability, it has, slightly. Games such as the included Crossbow Training, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, and other light-gun games feel much more interactive. Much more button intensive games such as Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Resident Evil 4, and others, on the other hand, suffer from the Zapper's shape and size. That is not to say I haven't tried to improve it, I have with custom button assignments, but the need to press additional buttons like the A, +, -, 1, and 2 buttons make those games nearly impossible to play well, like in a boss encounter.
The Wii Remote is in essence a light-gun, making the Zapper a novelty, rather than a necessity, to play light-gun games, but that novelty can still be very fun to use."
