What's great about it: I love the timer and settings so I can start it in the morning and it is ready by the time I get home from work

Love this product. Makes my life easier. Bought it for settings and large volume. Haven't used probe yet for meats but I have used it every week since buying it. Highly reccomended.

I like the temp probe, that i can set it and be gone all day and dinner is warm when I get home. Clean up is easy.

I purchased this on Christmas Eve for our Christmas ham. Got home that night and pulled it out of the box. One of the ears on the lid used to clip the lid in ace during transport was broken off and therefor unusable. Chose not to use it and returned it after Christmas.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Easy to use, large enough for roasts, dishwasher safe or easy to wash by hand!
What's not so great: Lid latches are hard to secure and release. No starting recipes come with it.
I did a lot of research, before deciding on this slow cooker. This is not like when they first came out in the 70's and didn't have the removable insert. It is simple to use, easy to clean, and as it starts cooking you can smell the aroma of what, you are cooking! I love it. As for the concerns about the reviews of the smelly gasket, I have not had that problem. This will only happen if you overfill the cooker because it can/will result in the food sticking to the gasket causing the cooking of the rubber.
I have cooked chili and roasts and like that I don't have to worry about burning the bottom of something, because I didn't stir it or the burner was set to hot!
Don't consider a more expensive slow cooker, it is a waste of money. You won't be impressing anyone, you will be cooking for yourself or your family. Fix your dinner the night or morning before you leave for work, set the timer, and come home to dinner cooked and ready to serve. Check the internet for slow cooker recipes or your local bookstore will have a "slow cooker cookbook".
The booklet has a page, with a chart for cooking times and temperatures that are for different types of meat based on their weight. It gives you step by step instructions on how to use the auto or manual settings. The other convenience is the spoon holder in the handle. Never have to worry about losing it or where you set it down.
The only con about this cooker is the lid latches, they are difficult to secure and release, but other than that; there are none!
Stop researching!!! Great price for the value and easy to use!

What's great about it: Shipping was free.
What's not so great: I nor BB persons could complete this order on line. Still have not received a confirmation of order. I called twice.
This was sent out of state for a Christmas present. The initial response I have is that it works fine.

What's great about it: It looks pretty
What's not so great: It doesn't work ...Ka Ka De Toro !
Everything is undercooked (semi-raw) even after twice the time. Does not appear to reach a high enough temp. ...even on high. Temp indicated proper with probe yet raw inside where the probe was. No difference on auto or manual....food does not cook properly. This is not my first "Crock Pot".
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Value and simplicity

I always do the research first. Buy this slow cooker! It is simple to use and it will create the best air freshener for your home. If you are concerned about the review about the smelly gasket, that will only happen if you overload the cooker. Loading an inch from the rim is maximum. Overloading can result in the food sticking to the gasket causing the cooking of the rubber. The internet has an abundance of slow cooker recipes. The use of herbs and spices will be your tongues best friend. Do not even consider more expensive cookers, especially All-Clad. You do not need to impress anyone, it is a waste of money. With the holidays
approaching, this cooker is an excellent low cost gift that will be loved by those receiving it. Fill the cooker in the morning before going to work, set the timer, come home and you will think that you hired a gourmet cook.
There are no cons about this cooker but be good to the cooker and thoroughly clean it after every use. If I had Bill Gates' money, I would supply the homes with electricity and this cooker to the starving people in Africa. Happy cooking!

What's great about it: The ability to set it and leave.
What's not so great: The little white probe gasket. It keeps falling out and I have lost ours already.
We love our slow cooker. I love the fact that you can set the timer and just walk away. It will start cooking in the middle of the night and it perfect for those on the go.
I would recommend this to a friend!

All of the good features on this slow cooker don't mean a thing when the Lid Gasket smells so awful....something like burnt rubber or tar. It stinks up the whole house. $54.11 WASTED!!!
TERRIBLE items because of the Lid gasket odor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's great about it: Easy clean up, cooks well, saves lots of time

I got this slow cooker for my birthday in February and I love it. The little booklet comes with some recipes to try out too. Clean up is super easy. I've left meals in there for upwards of 12 hours on low and I've never had a problem with clean up. Just a little soap and water does the trick. No need for those slow cooker liners. Everything has always come out perfect. Never under or over cooked. The clamps on the sides are a blessing. They can be a little tough at first to lock down, but it's worth it to keep the food from spilling on the way to the in laws house. It's great for those of us who work all day too. Just set up your ingredients before bed and set on low before you leave for work and dinner is done when you get home. It's awesome.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Temperature probe cook setting, dishwasher safe, great booklet included, awesome all-around!

I'm one of those people who do a lot of research before I buy anything and this crockpot was no exception. It seemed like a great purchase and one of my coworkers recommended it, so I figured I'd try it out and if I hated it, I could bring it back in Best Buy's 30 day return policy. Turns out, I love it! I made three meals in it the first week. I love being able to leave for work and come home to a finished meal! The crockpot I owned before did not have removable stoneware so it's a big deal for me that this one does. I never wanted to use my old crockpot because it was such a pain to clean! It's great that this one is dishwasher safe, but it is a little big so it takes up half of my dishwasher (better than washing by hand though).
I like that you can use the timed cook or manual setting, but the temperature probe is fantastic and the cook feature I use most! The probe is too short though if you're just cooking chicken breasts. For roasts and whole chickens it's the perfect size though. My favorite thing to make in the crockpot is roasts and I usually buy those roasts kits you can get at the grocery store now. Meat, cut up veggies and seasoning all in one package for about $15. You can make amazing meals with only five minutes (max) prep time. I've made the kits before, but the roasts turn out even better when I use the temperature probe! It's seriously a great feature.
I really love the booklet that it comes with, there are some great recipes in there! Including...Chicken Pieces with Lemon and Fresh Rosemary, Apricot Chicken, and Maple Boneless Pork Roast. The only thing that I really don't like about this crockpot at all is the latches on the lid. It's great that they're there, but they're really hard to get undone. Maybe it's just me. It didn't stop me from giving it five stars though!

What's great about it: Plenty big enough for family-size meals; easy to clean
What's not so great: Nothing...its all good so far!
This is the first slow cooker I have used, and so far I'm very pleased with it. Programming couldn't be simpler, the cooking pot is a good size and easy to clean, and I like the way the lid snaps on and off. I've used the manual and probe functions and had good results with both. Having never owned a slow cooker before I don't have anything to compare against...but certainly this model is meeting my expectations. I chose it on the strength of other good reviews, and happily add my vote for it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

With my schedule, it is hard to cook good meals. So I decided to buy this slow cooker after reading many reviews on many different models. After trying ribs, pot roast and a few soups, I am extremely pleased. Cooks well, settings are easy to understand and program. If you are looking for a slow cooker, don't hesitate.

What's great about it: digital settings and locking sealed lid
I actually used this slow cooker to make Thanksgiving Turkey. I bought an 11lb. turkey and it's kinda tight but after cooking it shrunk a little. To save on cleaning, i put a plastic liner for slow cookers that you can buy at your local grocery store. During cooking, an air pocket built up between the liner and the pot that the juice from the turkey and my marinade started to overflow. But the great thing about this slow cooker is the locking sealed lid that prevented the juice from leaking out of the pot! After the temp set down to warm, the air pocket reduced and i was able to open the lid without spilling. I had set the temperature probe to 180F (Max) and the turkey actually was so tender and juicy that when i tried to pick it up, the breast meat came out and the rest was in the pot. Talk about falling off the bone. Great product!

Love this crock pot. Especially that the lid locks down. Great for travelling. And easy clean up, just put the porclein crock in the dishwasher.

What's great about it: Excellent price...Thoughtful and very attractive design.
What's not so great: No downsides yet!
We got this slow cooker as a holiday gift for our Mum. We chose it because it was highly rated on Consumer Reports and other publications/sites. This Hamilton Beach model seems more impressive than the pricier models/fancier brand names out there. Great buttons and features, sturdy design and ample room. The price at Best Buy was the best around, as well. So far, our Mum hasn't cooked with it yet (as she was away on holiday) but is now excited to use it. My aunt has used it and has nothing but raves since you can literally have your day and come home to a delicious, fully prepped meal. Very easy to use...now I'm anxious to try it out too!
