What's great about it: This single remote replaces all others.
What's not so great: Nothing! I have not one bad thing to say about this product.
Finally broke down and purchased the Harmony One Remote by Logitech. The Best Buy store matched the On-line price of $159.99 Yes, that sounds like a lot of money but here is what this remote will do: First, it replaces up to 15 seperate remotes. And second: You can program it to do up to 5 macros. What does that mean? Glad you asked. A macro is a program that tells the remote what to do for a specific task. Here is how I set mine up. For my pieces I have a 47" HD television set. A samsung DVD player. A Comcast Cable Scientific Fisher w/DVR. A Vizio Soundbar. You plug the Harmony One remote via USB to your computer and tell it what you have and it asks you for the model number of each piece. This is where you can have up to 15 items. Next is where the macros come to play. With the 4 pieces of equipment I entered, the remote now knows that all I do is watch TV/DVR or watch a movie using the DVD player. It asks me when I watch TV do I want to use the soundbar for the volume or the TV volume. I chose Soundbar. It then asks, do I want the Comcast HD box to always be left on and I said No. It then says, when I select "Watch TV", the television turns on, the Comcast HD box turns on and the Soundbar turns on. The soundbar is now controlled via the remote volume. Same principle applies when I want to watch a movie using my DVR. When I select "Watch DVD", the television turns on, the DVD player turns on and the soundbar turns on. I now have 1 remote that replaced the other 4. Remember, I am only using 2 macros so I still have 3 left for future purchases. You can even set the remote up to dim your lights, turn on your gas logs, etc...

Took home and replaced seven remotes! I have two tv's and hd cable boxes in my entertainment center this remote controls both with no issues. I also got the PS3 extender and it works as it says. Also, I run windows 7 and had no issues with the software setup at all. You can also edit the names of your activities as well as program actual channels (with images of the network) right on the remote. Worth the $.

What's great about it: Love how it controls so many different components
What's not so great: Could be difficult to program for some.
Great remote, love the touch screen and the 1 touch buttons that, once they've been properly set up, will automatically change my components to watch a movie, play my PS3 (using the logitech adapter), and turn on my Xbox360. Easy to update as components change and you can add your own buttons via the online set up.
A little more is required for set up than perhaps other universal remotes, but the final outcome is amazing and not fumbling through all the other remotes. I purchased a lower model harmony for my parents and set it up for them and it even works with their cable box.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: haven't found anything yet
Have it about two months. Very easy to set up, but I have had other Harmony Remotes so I am familiar with their set up routines. Haven't had it long enough to really know how durable it is. Other Harmony Remotes with the rubber buttons don't last very long. This one has hard buttons so we wil see. So far i am very satisfied

What's not so great: Make sure you know how to use it before Tech leaves
I paid Geek Squad to program this and I'd recommend that. There is no manual with the remote. Programming is on a a disk through a computer. Be sure you know how it works before the tech leaves and exactly how to access each feature and how to work "help" feature on remote. It's a great tool once you are completely familiar with how it works but a little pricey - around $250 if you have Geek Squad set it up.

What's great about it: East to set up and easy to use
What's not so great: Small learning curve
I love this remote - it's definitely worth what I paid for it. It was easy to program, and easy to edit the programming. It's fun to use, but I love techie toys. My husband even understands how to use it, and therein lies the miracle! We were trying to keep up with 5 separate remotes, and my husband could never remember what buttons to push on each one. This is SO easy to use, and I downloaded j-peg images for each of our favorite channels, so he really loves that. It is so straight-forward, that when a function didn't work properly, I could see exactly what I needed to do to edit the software on my laptop.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: can controll most actions on remotes. It has it's own charger.
What's not so great: It takes a little use of remote to learn how to use for all functions. Not for beginners.
I like using one controller. This is one of the better remotes I've used.

What's great about it: Very intuitive to use, easy to set up, a lot of functionality.
What's not so great: Touchscreen is too sensitive, buttons are not sensitive enough. This is sometimes frustrating.
We are very happy with it, except we have trouble getting it to "stop on a dime" after fast-forwarding through a commercial. This may be a re-training issue (getting used to the new controls).

I have used for over 3 years my daughter dropped on the tile floor and the screen broke but the product still worked, though need to get another because we couldnt see the info on screen.. two thumbs up!!!

What's great about it: Ease of use and setup. Also, it provides a number of control options other products of the type do not.
What's not so great: Can't think of a thing.
We have been using the product for some time now, and it has certainly solved the problem of multiple controllers.. We have never had a problem with it, and if something doesn't happen the way it should (e.g., the device was not pointed at the right device, it allows for correction. We even have it controlling our Apple TV--and that works fine too.

Very nice! I had Geek Squad do the set up of a home entertainment center. They showed me several remotes, but I am glad I choose this one. TV, sound system, blue ray, tuner, WII...all work with ease by choosing activity. They did great job with set up and left good notes on how to add other items I might add later.

What's great about it: The overall usage. I don't even touch my other remotes.
What's not so great: The setup for a non tech person would probably suck. Thank goodness I read manuals. LOL
It is a good remote. The batteries are my only issue but typically I can leave it off the dock for 2 days or so before I need to recharge. I use it to watch movies on my Xbox and pretty much do everything.
I have 2 rooms programmed successfully. Great remote Compared to a lot of other ones you just read a page of the manual and you're set.

I have had many universal remotes including the old Pronto Neo right up through a couple of the Harmony remotes. With the Harmony One, I have found what is, for me, the perfect remote. Easy as can be programming, color screen, intuitive layout and a very good charging cradle. Absolutely worth every penny!

My main TV viewing room includes an array of electronics devices connected via RX-867 Yamaha receiver.....My wife has never been able to dertermine which of the nine remotes handles which function. To say she was an unhappy camper would be putting it mildly Her favorite expression was " I can't even figure how to cut the TV on much less listen to the ipod." She will admit to be electronically challenged. This controller has honestly resolved 90 % of her issues and frustrations while using all of our components.......Bottom line, make it simple....Buy it, you'll love it !

I would recommend this products with caveats. The battery life, need to charge the device every two days and according to the manual there are only so many charge cycles before you have to replace the battery.
I really do like the device to the things it does do. There is a learning curve also.

What's great about it: Having all remotes in one.
What's not so great: Battery life isn't the greatest.
This is a nice piece of tech. I like being able to operate all of my multiple pieces of media with one remote. The only thing I don't care about is that the battery seems to need to be recharged about every 2 days. I just put it back on it's charger nightly to make sure I have the juice to operate everything.
