What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: the unit and support
"I've installed many routers over the years and this is the worst ever. The wired end worked fine, but the wireless end kept dropping my connection all the time. Called support(Phillipines) and after about an hour of not understanding them, they told me to download the fireware upgrade and wait a few days, then call THEM BACK to see if the upgrade worked. Its to bad that Cisco is putting their reputation on products like this."

What's great about it: speed
What's not so great: set up
"got this router Wednesday and set in up i noticed that it was slower than my older wireless G Linksys router and connection also cut in and out, called up Linksys and they gave me some advanced routing codes and still slow. Thursday got home and redid the setup this time using a WEP key instead of a WEP2 key and worked fine, smooth and fast ever since. When going into setup its best off to use the WEP key for security if you are running a lot of devices running off the router."

What's great about it: It's easy to setup and it look's nice.
What's not so great: Faulty firmware with no availible update yet.
"Purchased a new modem (cm100) and a new router (this one) tonight. It took me awhile on the phone with comcast for them to authenticate my modem for their own personal reasons.
After installing the router I noticed the internet speed was very poor. (1200-1300 kbps.), when I was on the internet via Ethernet I would get (21,000mkps). So I started doing some digging. Called Comcast, no dice, Called Linksys, No dice.. Talked to my IT guy, No dice. Googled, No dice. Finally now 8 hrs into this ordeal (2:30 am) I stubbled on to the Linksys forum. Aparently this is a known issue with this model and their is currently only minor fixes. The minor fixes will prevent you from streaming period. Linksys needs to make an update, but havent even released an idea of when that would be availible yet.
I would highly recommending accessing their forum and insuring this issue is cleared before buying the equipment. No way would I buy it without that. I will be returning mine tomorrow."

"Set up wants you to wire connect to computer as opposed to wireless connection. Had to totally do this manually and the set up disc was a complete waste of time. Time will tell if I would continue to recommend this router to a friend. Had DLINK before and in 8 months it was defective. We'll see."

What's not so great: DID NOT WORK!!
"I bought this router with a new laptop, I got home really excited about my great purchase. Installed the software on my desktop, everything went well until I tried to use the brand new laptop. None of the computers at the house would detect this new router. Tried for three days, even asked a friend who is very knowledgeable about this stuff, no luck!! Ended up return it back to the store. Very dissapointed!! Hooked my olg Belkin G routed back up, guess what, everything worked like a champ in all computers. Get a Belkin!!"

What's great about it: Easy setup, automated device configuration.
"There was nothing wrong with our old Linksys G router that cycling the power every couple of weeks didn't fix, but when we got tired of it we decided to upgrade to wireless N. The single best thing about this router is the Wi-Fi Protected Setup feature. I got a wireless printer onto the network in seconds. It took longer to read through the printer's instructions than to do it. Everything should work this well."

What's great about it: Easy setup
"I have been using a G band router for several years now, but our network has outgrown it. With three computers, two game systems, one printer, and an iphone running on it, it was time for an upgrade to N. I choose this router primarily because my old one was also a Linksys, and I had been happy with its performance until lately. Setting up the new router was incredibly easy, and it was up and running in a matter of minutes. Now no one is getting frustrated by being booted off the network when too many devices log on."

What's not so great: Slow connection speed, long set up time
"I purchased this router to use to connect my wife's laptop to the modem we already had from Verizon. It took a very long time to set up the router and it didn't work. The directions are not clear, we had to set up a security password on the main desktop and then set up the same password on the laptop and then choose the security connection WEP. The connection on the laptop is very very slow!!!! II finally got it to work and 15 minutes later the internet connection was dropped. I've been trying to get it to work and I'm going on 3 hours now. Then the program that comes with it Network Magic is not included, it's a free trial for 7 days and then you have to purchase it for $59. It will be returned tomorrow!!"

What's great about it: It works
What's not so great: Haven't had any problems yet
"Bought online black friday so price was good. Pretty easy to setup if you can follow simple directions. Signal could be a little stronger only 2 bars across the house and up 1 level so don't know how it would be basement to second floor. To bad the fancy software is extra from cisco but that is the way of the world. Using it for 2 computors and no problems but we are not online gamers at the same time so no test. When the box came I was concerned it wouldn't be strong enough and while in Best Buy asked some salespeople about my concerns, they said it would be OK and it is. I'm an old man and computers are still new and it was still easy!"

What's great about it: Good Design - Lack of Bulky Antennas
What's not so great: 2 out of 3 bar range while in the same room
"I switched from a G to an N for the promise of better speed. Maybe I need to upgrade the adaptors too but the signal (and therefore speed) is less than the G. Computers in the room next to the router (wireless G adaptors) get 1 Mbps. No computers in the house get full bars. Not even in the same room. No problems with Setup. Just disappointed I'm not getting the super fast speed everyone else is talking about."

What's not so great: incorrect instructions for MAC, bad connectivity
"Stay away from this product. The instructions for MAC were incorrect, and when I called their tech support they wanted to CHARGE ME to tell me how to set it up. I refused, more out of principle than anything. I finally figured it out, but the connectivity is horrible. I had the router in an adjacent room, and the connection was terrible, basically unusable. Today I set it up in my living room (like 5 feet from where I use my computer) and its not much better. Even when I pace the router one inch from the computer, its bad, slow. Connecting directly with Ethernet solves all problems, so I know its not my ISP. After months of suffering with this device I've decided to finally throw it on the garbage."

What's great about it: Speed, range and price
What's not so great: battery life
"My first wireless router. I bought it because of a new laptop and for my PS3. So far everything is working fine. Speed is fast and the range is ok. I got my router on the 2nd floor and my laptop/PS3 are down stairs and it works out great. I did not load the Network Magic because of earlier post. Did not have any problem setting it up. It was straightforward and really simple. I did not do any updates so it work out great out of the box."

What's great about it: Cool design, sleek looks, no annoying antenna's
What's not so great: Poor wireless connectivity, Long install times for the Easylink Advisor
"This router has been nothing but a problem with me since I got it. I got wireless connectivity all for about 3 minutes before it dropped and I have been unable to reconnect now for over 6 hours. I have a Macbook Pro and it will find the router in my network list, but when connected it will still act as though there is no router in my Network. I was able to get onto one web page but soon after it loaded I lost all my reception and the router no longer will connect to my Macbook. I have no wireless security setup anymore due to the fact that the router would not allow my Macbook to connect to it with a password encryption. I have connected to at least 10 other routers, from older Linksys models to the magnificent Mac Airport with ZERO issues. I am returning it to the store right now and upgrading to a Mac Airport Wireless-N setup. Thanks anyways, Linksys, but you just lost another customer."

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Need to install an update in order to get it to work
"This router is amazing! Fast connection at average of 150 mbps and extremely good signal. My router is on my second floor and I get a good five bars on my laptop in my basement two floors down. The one thing that people don't realize though is that you are required to install an update. When I first got it, I had poor connection and was dropped every fifteen minutes. But with a quick five minute call to Linksys, I installed a quick update to the router and everything was working amazing. PLEASE REMEMBER TO INSTALL THE UPDATE BEFORE USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
