What's great about it: Easy to set up, GREAT price, looks really good, User Friendly
What's not so great: Nothing
I would recommend this product to anyone that is on a budget and is using it in a small to medium sized room. The system is very user friendly and is easy to set up. You can easily customize the speaker volume and bass settings. I found that it sounds the best if you turn up the rear speakers a little. Great buy!!!

What's great about it: Price! Easy Hook-up
What's not so great: I can't really complain about anything
This is a good item for the cheap price, you get what you pay for but the speakers sound good & picture quality is not bad.
The best thing about it is it is jet black! So it can go with any black television or entertainment center.

What's great about it: The price, different sound modes.
What's not so great: Nothing yet.
This is a nice little system. Other reviews indicate most of the sound comes front the center speaker. They must have never had a surround sound system before. Any 5.1 system setup properly does put out most sound out of the center. If all speakers played equally it would not be surround sound. Rears are for sounds like a bird chirping, car noise, talking in background, etc.

What's great about it: cheap price
What's not so great: Sound sucks
It only took about 30 minutes for Set-up, and took about 30 minutes for it to stop working. We could not get the DVD player to work at all, and the sound quality is nothing. We put it in a room thats 11 x 13 and the wires were not long enough. This may be a cheap device, but you get what you pay for with this one.

What's great about it: it was the least expensive, pretty easy to set up, and sounds really good
What's not so great: the sound is a little weak but thats the only problem so far
if youre looking for something thats cheap and sounds pretty good get this. its great for small rooms but if you have a room thats larger than about 13 by 13 feet, you might want to get something bigger

What's not so great: Sound Quality is bad!! Im returning mine just after only a few hours!! HORRIBLE SOUND SORRY TO SAY!!
The sound is bad. The center speaker is super loud and over powers the other speakers. The other speakers sound like they are not even on (but they are) and sound VERY VERY low. I really do not recommend this product to anyone.

What's great about it: All media played in one unit. Works with other speakers.
What's not so great: Radio channel setup
Purchased as gift for my mother. She replaced her radio tuner, cd player and DVD player with this one, small unit and one remote. We were able to use her existing speakers. It produces a nice sound for movies and background music. She isn't expecting anything powerful. It is working out perfectly.

What's great about it: Ease of set up, and play back quality
What's not so great: Speaker wire length, and would prefer being able to use USB port for movie play back with my external harddrive .
My old system just died was ina pinch thought I would give this a try and found it was a vast improvement to my old RCA system, took less than an hour to set up, just wished tone levels was able to be controlled and had Divx play back but all in all got what I paid for cheap system that gives its moneys worth, if you want high quality pay for it don't buy this expecting a BOSE system

What's great about it: ... uhm..
What's not so great: the package deal
If you are someone reading this review then you are probably not an audiophile like myself. These things are a complete waste of money if you spent any kind of money on a flat panel tv. This is the kind of thing you buy an 11 year old kid or something. if you seriously use this with a tv thats bigger than 19" then you my friend have some serious shopping to do. This should be kept in the BBY for kids area

What's great about it: good price, easy to setup, great for small rooms
What's not so great: need longer speaker wires,
This is my 4th Insignia product and so far I have had no problems with any of them. I bought the Insignia® 200W 5.1-Ch. Home Theater System becuase my old dvd player stop working. And it was in the price range I wanted spend. If your looking for a $500.00 Home Theater System for $100 this is not going to be what you want. But if you want a solid little system this might be for you.
I would suggest buying some speaker wire., if your room is larger then 10x10.

What's great about it: I can not think of anything
What's not so great: Door would not cose on DVD
The unit does not have a optic input for sound, My TV just has optic output. The door on the DVD would hang up going back in.Oh then when I did get it going , everything on screen was a pretty blue. Thought I had done something wrong, plugged up My old DVD, sat back andenjoyed Hellboy 2

What's great about it: Easy to set up and sounds great
What's not so great: Resolution is low and mine now doesn't work.
I was very satisfied with the sound of this unit. It was perfect for a city apartment. You still that had that low growl, depending on the movie, and yet not so loud that you had the neigbors calling. But.....I have only had this thing for 20 days and now, all of a sudden, it will not show Blue. Yes, the color Blue. It's not my TV; Cable looks fine and no amount of Picture/Settings fiddling will do it. The screensaver is green, the sky is green, anything that is supposed to be blue is GREEN!!!!!
This is the second time I have bought an INSIGNIA item from Bestbuy and each time, they have gone South on me. Never again.

What's great about it: worked great when it worked
What's not so great: died after a few months, (of course after warranty expired)
This system worked fine for a small room when it worked. It died after about 8 months. Good luck unless
you bought an extended warranty. I wouldn't buy another one.

What's great about it: Sound, Price
What's not so great: DVD Player
I bought this system seven months ago on sale. It didn't take long to set up. All the wires are color coordinated. The subwoofer is nothing to be proud of, yet the sound is great. I have the system set up in my bedroom and I love to watch movies and play games on it. The only thing really wrong with it is that the DVD player doesn't work. This might be a problem for some but I watch my movies on my Xbox 360 and have the sound plugged into the system. I definately recommend this product to anyone that has a DVD player already and wants surround sound without having to pay an arm and a leg for it.

What's great about it: Good sound for the price
What's not so great: Everything else
We first bought a different insignia system- it was a little cheaper. I bought it at the "Black Friday Sale" after Thanksgiving. By the time January hit, it was broken, we took it in, got another one, and it worked for about 4 months, then it stopped working. By this time we decided to "upgrade" to this system. We have had it about 2 months and during my exercise DVD it stopped working. It said that there was "no disc". We have tried several times in the past few days to get it to work again, still it is not good. This is probably the worst product we have ever bought- the insignia brand is not worth the money at all, unless you have the time to go replace it every few months. i would not recommend this system. If you do buy this, make sure you get the extended warranty because it will not last.
