What's great about it: sharp design, clear image, exellent value
What's not so great: nothing
Have an XPS 420, and this is the additional dual monitor. By the time I decided to buy a second monitor, my system was 4 yrs. old, and did not think I would be able to find an exact match for the original monitor. Exact match, and comes with both a VGA and a DVI cable. Clear image and allows you to add a Dell sound bar at the bottom ( AX510PA or AS 501). The silver frame is cool.

What's great about it: Simple to set up and it was a great price.

I had an old monitor (huge and bulky, not a flat screen) that finally died. This new monitor is perfect for our extra computer. Everyone in the house uses this computer/monitor, we have a few. The size is perfect, not too big and not too small. The quality of the screen is incredible for the price that we paid ($99.00).

What's great about it: Good value, brilliant screen
What's not so great: Nothing, Buy this one if your video driver works with it.
This is a 1440X900 monitor and works great. Be sure your video driver will support this screen size. If you cannot use it in this 1440x900 mode you will not have as good of image on the screen. If your video driver will support a larger screen go with the larger 20" 1600X900 monitor.

What's not so great: The frame is silver--why is the base black?
I received this monitor today and I can't believe the picture quality. The colors are so vivid and sharp; text is easy to read. I don't know why I waited so long to purchase a new monitor. I'm using it in a dual monitor setup with my 15" laptop screen and I wish I could switch the laptop monitor for this one. Top of the line--great job Dell.

What's great about it: The fact that it has a wide screeen

I found that setting up the monitor (i.e., attaching the monitor to the stand, plugging into electrical outlet, connecting monitor to computer, ect...) itself was fairly easy, but when I went to turn the monitor on, it did not go on right away. Instead, I had to 'synchronize the monitor' and in order to figure out how to do that, I had to download the user's guide to my computer first.
Once I did that, it was very hard for me to understand from that point on. My mom had to come over and do everything else for me as I have only basic computer skills.
If you aren't good with computer terminology and have only basic computer skills, this monitor will not be easy to set up by yourself. I don't like having things that I can't set up or work on my own. I now have to depend on my Mom if anything should happen with this monitor. I also wish that the user's guide had been a book that came with the monitor, instead of software that I had to download onto my computer.
What if I have to troubleshoot the monitor one day because it isn't working properly?

Other than the set up, the monitor is really nice. The wide screen is fantastic, there is no glare and the colors are amazing. It would be nice if the screen moved from side to side instead of just up and down, but it's really not a big deal for me personally.

What's great about it: Pretty durable, customization options, great color
What's not so great: Resolution, balance when using buttons, aspect ratio
This monitor has a great 19" screen that's beautifully bright with nice options for customization as all monitors usually have, as well as a significant display. The silver color's nice instead of the usual black because it gives it a more modern look and feel.
What I'm not too satisfied with is that I think for a 19" screen it could have had a slightly larger resolution. My 17" screen laptop has the same 1440 x 900 resolution so this monitor probably isn't ideal for HD content or high quality video of any sort. Also, when pressing buttons on the bottom, hold the back of it while doing so because you'll push the monitor over having to push the buttons. Finally, I would have liked a standard 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the 16:10 that this provides.
While the good overway the bad in this product, it would have been nice to see some improvements in the design of the screen, not including the nice silver color of the monitor itself.

What's great about it: Three year warranty
What's not so great: Didn't last too long!
I bought my monitor in September 2008. It stopped working July 2009. Thankfully the warranty took care of replacement. Dealing with Dell tech support is not the easiest thing to do. During one phone call I spoke with SIXTEEN different people to get it resolved. SIXTEEN! When I got my replacement, it was a REFURBISHED item, not new.
I can't really recommend this model.

This is really great! It only took 1 day to set up! Very clear images. No problems with this. Its really fun. Trust me, when you buy it, you wont regret it! A nice size screen too! What's great about it: The price was great and I didnt sacrfice any of its versatility.
What's not so great: The monitor doesnt have any side ways movement, but iether wise awesome addition to my room.
When i bought this screen I was a bit skeptical because i bought a screen a while back and it was junk for about 40 dollars more but, then I came to best buy and purchased this monitor for less, got better quality and style, and its screen detail was great this indeed was a best buy.

We got this monitor about 2 months ago and we love the widescreen and how clear everything is on it, it's easy to move, lightweight, I don't know why we didn't get this one years ago. It also matches in color my subwoofer and speakers, I'll have this monitor until it burns out completely.

What do you expect to get out of a monitor? You turn it on, the picture comes up, no issues. This monitor shows, clear, crisp text and photos. If you looking to find a needle in a haystack, buy a $1500 monitor. What's great about it is I turn it on and guess what, the picture is there.

I was really glad to get this monitor at Best Buy. Dell did a good job making this LCD monitor. I had a old CRT monitor that failed so I went to Best Buy and got this Dell LCD. The image quality is great. I also like that it is a 19in monitor which makes it very nice to watch movies on. The tilt feature on the monitor is also cool. Good job Dell!!!

What's not so great: No telescopic base to raise screen up and down
I use a similar Dell model at when I'm in the office. I attach it to my laptop and therefore I am able t get 2 displays. I have been working a lot from home lately and I've been in the market for another monitor. I've looked at LG and Samsung, as well as Dells and I have to say that the Dells look the best. I use my computer at work to run some proprietary software as well as manipulating data with Excel spreadsheets. I highly recommend this monitor. I think I'm going to get another one to use with my home desktop. It's great!

I've got 1 now, going back for a second this weekend. Great image quality, can display 480p no problem, 720p you have to scale it down a bit. I have a 17 mo. old and it's lasted his torture tests so far.

What's great about it: Very clean-looking with a thin bezel. Can easily be wall mounted.
What's not so great: Make sure you have a video card that can push a 1440x900 resolution.
Allows for many different applications with expansive area for spread sheets, browser windows, and/or games. DVI connection (with option for VGA) provides a very clear picture with even greater possibilities if you decided to pick up two of them for a dual-screen setup.
