What's great about it: Easy Setup
What's not so great: Loses wireless signal way to soon
"The camera is very easy to setup. But when I moved it to where I intended it to go. I could see it but could never connect to it. It keeps telling me the connection is lost. Tried moving it closer to the access pint and the smae issue. My laptop picks the signal up fine and has a 90% signal. If the camera is in the same room as the wireless router there are no issues.Guess the wireless in the cameras are not as good. Very diasappoined. Now I have th choiceof buying a range extender or returning the camera and buying a cheaper wired one and run the cable (What a hassle)"

What's great about it: Easy to configure and setup without needing ethernet cable
What's not so great: 3 user per cam
"I was surprised that an item this cheap performs this well. I have had cams in the past that work equally as well however were in the 250 to 500 dollar range. The only downfall to this product is the fact that it is limited to 3 users viewing at one time."

What's great about it: Price and picture
What's not so great: User manual
"I got this camera because my house was burglarized. Set up was simple. One thing that helps with the motion detection sensitivty is to put it on a surge protector. I'm Happy with the E-mail alerts and they back up the video on the computer should that be stolen.
I plan on getting 1 or 2 more. Definately needs a fast processor 2 ghz or better."

What's great about it: none
What's not so great: poor quality picture, hard to set up, poor quality device
"I actually wrote a very in-depth review but the preview said profanity was detected. I used no profanity just lots of phrases like poor quality picture etc. So just be warned this is difficult to set up and the results are pathetic. A good source for problems with these cameras is the Linksys support forum."

WVC54GCA is a great value...

What's great about it: Nothing camparable at this price range
What's not so great: Must "know a little" about wifi networking
"I currently have 3 WVC54GCA's. I also own 2 of the older WVC54g cams. The optics are improved, low light sensitivity is improved. No more grainy night views at all. The adjustable ball-pivot base is a vast improvement over older models.... AND THE PRICE IS ABOUT HALF of my ol' trusty WVC54G's. The manually sizable 3-sensitivity zones (for email notification) are also an improvement over the previous grid-zones of the older WVC54g's. Email notification works just as expected (I now know when delivery man arrives). RTSP for mobile streaming on my phone is way too cooool!! Install was easy. If you assign a STATIC IP for your dynamic DNS functionality as well as assign the appropriate port #... you're good to go. NOTE: you (at least) must know about these terms to successfully view remotely via the Internet (outside the local network). Nothing in this price range beats it. P-E-R-I-O-D. Quality is also good (for the price range). True you can't read license plates off of cars on the street but those cams cost 6+ times as much. If you need PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) functionality on your cam, It's gonna cost you much more elsewhere, or get the PTZ version from Linksys. . The supplemental camera utility program has a nice multi camera view option, but is not as intuitive as the camera install process. I need to add my ol' current WVC54G's to the multi-cam view program soon. I will be purchasing several more WVC54GCA's for the house. go Get one (or more) for your WIFI IP cam needs. Wifi connectivity hint: Due to the nature of modems (not the cameras fault) during a power outage - wifi routers reboot quicker than modems. Use a (digital) appliance timer on your wifi router to reset least 4 times a day. That way if you ever have a power outage the router (and all devices attached to it) will be able to be seen (when router boots after the fact). This SOLVES 99% of loss connectivity issues. I used to get tired of manually rebooting the router to see may cams after a power outage (again, not the camera's fault)."

What's great about it: Does what it's supposed to do
What's not so great: Picture Quality not the best, Setting up internet video outside your own network was a hassle
"The picture quality isn't the best but for my purposes it works great. Facing it outside will trigger lots of motion alerts even when the sensitivity is low. It says it will work anywhere in the world which is true however, it's very complicated to setup. You do not need the service linksys offers. There are other services that do the same for free. You have to configure your router to let the camera's IP to be visible outside your network. It was a very complicated for me. This camera will work with Macs through Safari or Firefox.
Overall it's a very great product."

Pretty Good

What's great about it: Pretty good value for the money
What's not so great: A tad tempermental
"From what I read about the previous model, this one certainly works very well. Setup was a little long, but for setting it up for wireless, motion detection, and setting up an alternative port, it wasn't too bad. There are a lot of features for the price. I use mine to check on my house and kids while I am at work. While there are more robust web cams/ethernet cams on the market, they come at a higher cost. I don't need something that will show the hairs on the back of a flea and this one works pretty good. Wired, this model stands up well to router reboots and power outages. Wireless can be tricky on a few occasions if you have the securities maxed out. But it always works. I plan to purchase a couple more."

Decent Camera

What's great about it: Price, Audio, Picture Quality, Value
What's not so great: Setup Wizard
"Don't bother using the Setup Wizard unless your network is either open or you remember your WEP passphrase -- direct WEP key entry feature is broken.
A better configuration path is to use a browser to the default IP -- 192.168.1.115. If you're like me and have set up your network to some other subnet, consider adding a NIC to your PC, setting it to something like 192.168.1.100, and use a crossover cable (also available at BB) for a direct PC-to-camera connection.
Beyond that, the camera is quite acceptable for everyday use."

What's great about it: Easy setup, great features, excellent price
What's not so great: Contrast control for long outdoor views
"This thing is really great! I have the non-audio version. You do not have to use Linksys' service to use the camera on the web, unless your ISP changes your IP address a lot (mine does not). A great deal all around"
