What's great about it: A Lot of Features

What's not so great: Bad case design

This computer works very well for a low price (by today's standards) but the case is made in a way that it collects a lot of dust and it is hard to get it clean.

I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: awesome storage space capacity, quick processing, easy to use

What's not so great: Tower too heavy, CD/DVD burner/reader broke fairly quickly

I love this computer! I've used it for a long time, and I've had very few issues with it. I love the fact it has so much storage room, and it runs quickly, and it is really easy to use.

Really, the only things I DON'T like about this computer is the fact the tower is really heavy and my I drive broke pretty quickly...

Otherwise, it's a great computer! I'd highly recommend it to anyone!

What's great about it: I like the speed and the memory of this computer. Plus all the extra firewalls and usb hubs u get with it.

What's not so great: I hate that it dont support digital audio out of the box.

I dont really like the audio st up. It dont support a digital speaker set up. Also the HP support lacks the proper training to help a person when in need. I like the speed and versatility of this computer. But again it needs alot of improvement when it comes to its programs and help. Plus it needs a better sound set up.
One other note. The fans is a bit to loud for my tastes...

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Lightscribe, accommodates all kinds of memory cards

What's not so great: Not crazy about Windows Vista

I love this computer! Lightscribe is awesome and I love the fact that I don't have to hookup my camera to the computer, but can just put in my memory card directly to the computer and upload the pics! The huge memory comes in handy as well...I don't have to worry that about low membory on my hard drive....very happy with this computer!

I would recommend it to anyone!

What's great about it: Fast, Reliable, Great Price, Nice Options

What's not so great: No firewire connection (but I added one to mine)

I have only had it one week, but so far it has been super fast, very reliable, and the easiest computer to use! I added firewire connections for my DV camera. I used to use a HP Pavilion, but so far I like this computer much more! If it keeps performing as good as it does now it will be the best computer I have ever owned!
As far as speed it is great! Right out of the box it had spyware, antivirus, spam protection, and a firewall. It updates itself and requires very little user expieriance so it is great for people who don't know a lot about maintaining their computer. New users should consider this computer!
I started out with the IBM Aptiva, Then I bought a Emachine that died quickly, then I tried an HP Pavilian that I upgraded many times and it lasted 6 years, now I have the Compaq Presario and I love it! Best computer so far!

I would recommend this to a friend!

Replacement for old Dell Desktop

What's great about it: Card Reader-Decent processor speed-up front USB

What's not so great: Keyboard

I originally bought a Gateway of similar specs, but returned it after a week because the disc drive stopped working. I was looking for a computer to replace an old Dell Dimension 3000 that died on me. This Compaq was cheaper than the Gateway and had all the features that my old Dell had. It is faster, plus has a built in card reader. We take a lot of pictures and it is very convenient to slide the SD card into the PC and download all of the pictures. I like the fact that the disc drive drawer has the open/close button that is functional for both opening and closing the drive. The other brands I looked at require you to push the disc tray when you want the tray to close. I think that would cause premature wear on the drawer. The one drawback that I see with this PC is the Keyboard. It is a little on the compact size and seems to be a liitle more difficult to type on. I find myself making more typing errors than I did on my old Dell. Of course, that can be remedied with another keyboard. Also, I am not using the mouse that came with it. I have a wireless laser mouse that I was using before. I will use this computer for general tasks, i.e. word processing, surfing the net, downloading and burning CD's and pictures, e-mail and most basic computer functions. If you are a gamer you probably would want something much more expensive and faster, but for me this Compaq is perfect! Overall, I feel this was a very good computer for the money and I would buy another Compaq when the time comes.

Great replacement computer

What's great about it: Great price. Lightscribe DVD.

What's not so great: No printer port. Need USB or network printer.

Bought this to replace an 8 year old computer. Used for basic work: word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, and photo management. Can't say how it would perform gaming. Graphics card performs very well. Dual core Intel processor is much faster. Pretty easy to add this computer to our existing home network, even though it runs Vista and the other computers run Windows XP. Took about 1/2 hour to figure out how to connect to the network printer, but it works fine.
Would have given it 5 stars if it had an optical mouse and a more substantial keyboard.

I would recommend this to a friend!
