What's great about it: The Quickstart instructions are simple and setup is a breeze.
What's not so great: I didn't read the instructions at first and gave myself a scare.
I replaced an old dead dsl modem (free from the company 2 yrs ago) with this ActionTec unit. Same basic inputs, so no problem there. Then I read the quickstart instructions and in 5 minutes, everything worked. The quickstart instructions were so simple and even the screen shots matched up with the instructions. What a first. What a pleasure.
It is hard to know if all DSL lines in the U.S. use the same standards, so I should add, this was used on a Verizon landline / DSLextreme contract. Jerry in Claremont.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Ease of setup reasonable price.
What's not so great: One of the stand latches was broken, was able to use the single latch to stand up modem.
I replaced the Westell 327( provided by Verizon) with the Actiontec Wireless DSL Modem (89.99). The Actiontec is 3 products in 1: a DSL Modem, 4 Port Switch, Builtin Wireless G Router. This particular model was not shown on the website, but was in the store next to the 69.99 Actiontec model. The installation took 20 minutes; that included security setup (WPA1 and WPA2); it also has WEP. I was a little hesitant about the Actiontec name, but after reading the reviews I took a chance. No installation problem with the verizon DSL network. Would recommend to others.

This dsl modem should be free with your service with verizon, however if you have to get it as a replacement. Maybe a lightning took it out, then definitely consider this. It works well and quite reliably.
I would recommend this to a friend!
