What's great about it: Sound quality, many features, ipod ready, remote control
What's not so great: had it for year and a half, nothing bad yet

"I have had this deck for about 1 1/2 yrs. and have yet to be let down. It not only improves the sound of my stock speakers, but it brings out the quality in my two 12" Kicker Comps. The deck has many features and equalizer settings to get your system sounding perfect. However, don't expect it to be as simple as operating your stock CD player. The iPod connector is easy to use, just plug it in. You can control your iPod with the deck and the included remote control. The best thing about Pioneer is the fact that you could run over a log in your car and your CD won't skip. I have yet to hear mine skip once. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!! BEST FOR MONEY!!!"

What's great about it: Great features and sound quality
What's not so great: Controls are a bit tricky to get use to.

"I have an SRT-4 with the Kicker system, and bought this stereo to replace the factory head unit. The higher power speakers and powered woofer in the car really matched up well to this head unit. Great sound, and clarity. I also love the fact that I can hook my Ipod up to it. I haven't had an actual cd in the car since I started using my Ipod. The only slightly negative thing and its not a big deal are the controls, as they take a while to get use to, but after that its fine."

What's not so great: Strange, at times, controls take a bit of getiing used to

"A top quality head unit. As a mechanic, I have heard many decks and this one is second to none. The display and built in animations are great. The SEVEN band equalizer gives you much more adjustment than most, though, it sounds so good it doesn't require much in the way of adjustment through good speakers. There's a ton of expandability too, giving you almost anything you want. Some controls are a bit counter-intuitive but you'll figure it out."

"This is an AWESOME deck. I walked into Bestbuy and asked for a deck that would be best for my new subs and the salesman recommended this deck to me. This thing is great. It has many custom controls for your bass and other sound controls. The direct iPod control is the BEST. You don't have to keep unplugging your iPod or whatever to get to a song you want. It has a CD player just in case you forget your iPod at home. I found it way easier to use the remote instead of pressing buttons on the face.
Only thing that would set you back on this deck is that it took a while to get used to. I've had it for about a week and still haven't figured out how to change the time and date on it. =/ but, give it time and this will be one of the best purchases for your vehicle."

What's great about it: Everything you need in a car radio

"This radio is great because it gave me all the features i needed. from bluetooth, xm, hd, ipod compatible to great sound and quality. this radio even comes with a great remote with all the features you need. I strongly recommend a professionals install from best buy. The truly did a clean job running all the cables. Trust me this is a great buy... Love it!"

What's great about it: Great sound, nice crisp radio, ipod ready
What's not so great: a little bit hard to get used to. took me about an hour to figure out the controls

"wow ok i dont even know where to start. well except for the fact that its a little hard to figure out how to use this its amazing. it sounds great.

i would have to say that my favorite feature about this deck is the High pass filter (hpf) what that does is if you have subwoofers you can remove all of the the frequencies under your chosen frequency to only be played by the subwoofer. this way when you play loud music your speakers dont start to pop or even blow.
next i would say that i love how it has a 7 band equilizer. the presets are pretty good but it has 2 custom equalizers which i use to bring out the best of my subwoofers.

i also like how it has a moterized face plate with the cd player right behind that.

it also comes with a usb extension so if you want to plug your ipod in the glove box it is possible. you dont have to worry about how much distance you have to stretch. it also has an aux port so if you want to play a friends zune or something from the stereo you can use that.

there is also like 10 different backgrounds with some of them being animated that you can choose from. just so your not stuck with a plain black background or something like that.

but anyways i suggest this for anybody that wants to have an amazing sounding system!"

Well worth everything 07/10/2008

What's great about it: Clean look, amazing performance
What's not so great: None except an interface that takes getting used to

"I have an '00 Accord V6 and at first, I was torn between this or an Alpine. I ultimately chose this because of the nice, sleek and clean look. I have to say, it looks amazing, and it goes deeper than just looks.
Performance-wise, this is a work of art. You can immediately notice a cleaner, crisper sound coming from your (yes, even stock) speakers. I honestly did not know my speakers were capable of putting out that bass and sound. I was scared of blowing them.
The only real drawback is that the deck takes a bit to get used to. For example, since there are very few keys on the front, it allows for a nice look, but unfortunately you now have to deal with a bunch of internal menus (which I would gladly take any day).
Another tiny con is that the USB slot is in the back, but since the deck comes with a USB cable extender, just run it through your glove box or drill a hole in the stereo expansion bay and that solves all your problems.
After you read the manual a bit and tinker with the new toy, you will also come to fall in love with it.
I definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking to buy a new deck."

One problem- RMS Wattage Wrong 06/24/2008

"I was disappointed to see that the box indicates this model only produces 14 watts RMS per channel when the pioneer website clearly says it produces 22 watts RMS per channel so did the Best Buy tag. Anyways, because of this I got a 15% discount. After I installed this unit the wattage issue turned out to be a moot point because this thing still rocks."

What's not so great: NONE AT ALL.

"I LOVE THIS RECEIVER, I GOT IT ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO, AND IT WORKS GREAT. I OWED THE PIONEER 6300 VERSION AND LAST YEARS PIONEER 6900UB, BUT THIS YEARS PIONEER 6000UB IS BEST. 7 BAND EQ IS GREAT, IT TUNES YOUR MUSIC THE WAY YOU LIKE IT, NOT JUST ANY CHEAP WAY LIKE OTHER LOW END RECEIVERS. ALSO, THE MOTORIZED PART IS AWESOME, IT LOOKS CLEAN, AND PROFESSIONAL, AND BEST BUY INSTALLED IT WITOUT A PROBLEM."

"I have a 96 Trans Am, I was afriad at first to change out the factory deck but after the work was done I was very happy with the way it looked. This deck looks and sounds great. I like that the Ipod and USB cord fit in the glove box out of the way. The face plate is easy on and easy off...I have yet to get thru all of the features of this deck but I would recomend it. I would recommend that you have it professionaly installed I had the guys at Best Buy install it and it looks great.. I was surprised."

"I recently installed this unit as a replacement for the factory stereo in a 2004 Subaru Forester 2.5X. Installation was a pain for this novice installer, as I found that I had to virtually do a headstand on my front-seat floor mats to disconnect some cables associated with the climate control system. As for the unit itself I recommend it with only one caveat: It is not natively compatible with older model iPods such as my iPod Photo (4th gen); only 5th gen iPods and later are natively supported, which means an adapter of some kind would be required with older models. Sound quality, display, settings options, connectivity, and overall value are excellent, however."

Best radio I've had so far 05/02/2008

"This is my third pioneer radio only because I upgrade almost every year. This is my first pioneer radio with a usb input and their new technology sound retriever. I can listen to my ipod and have it charged through the usb with the ipod cord that came with my ipod. My next upgrade will be to a pioneer in-dash mobile video."

What's great about it: Versatility

"Great system for the long haul. Between the XM Radio and Ipod capabilities I never have to listen to another DJ or commercial - ever. These are some of the positive aspects of this system:

Excellent buy 03/20/2008

What's great about it: A lot of different features
What's not so great: Can be difficult if you do not practice using controls

"When I initially bought this radio, I was dissappointed with the complexity of the controls and thought simplicity was lost. I was determined to get rid of the radio. However, once I got in my truck and practiced with the controls, I love this radio. I have been an Alpine user for 15+ years and wanted a different option. This Pioneer is an excellent choice for the price and with the features. It has accurate subwoofer controls, 7 band equalizer, the best IPOD controls and most of all it just has a very nice look. Pioneer made a excellent radio with the 6000 and the sound quality is phenomenal. This is a good buy. Just be patient with all the controls, it will become second nature. This has the best IPOD controls around just like the actual IPOD."
