What's great about it: easy to set up, great picture appearance, up tp 500 photographs
What's not so great: nothing yet- great gift

"This digital picture frame can hold up to 500 pictures- it can carry years of memories within one frame. The quality of the photographs is unbelievable. The size is perfect for putting on display in the living room for everyone to see or in the bedroom. The best part is that you can personalize it according to the pictures you want to use. I love it, I am thinking of buying another!"

What's great about it: Bright Screen, easy to use, good amount of built in storage
What's not so great: Pricey, Can't mount to a wall

"This digital photoframe is real easy to set up, just pop in a memory card and go. The transitions between pictures are nice and smooth, and you have enough storage on the frame for about 50 pics. The screen is bright and sharp. The only real downside is that you cannot mount it on a wall, but a great product nonetheless."

Sleek Frame & Great Functionality 08/16/2008

What's great about it: Great design, easy to use, sharp images

"After looking at many frames and owning a different one, I selected this one from Sony.
Pros:
-Someone mentioned that they could only get ~170 pictures on their frame. I have 1128 on mine and it works fine, both on an SD card and internal memory.
-It looks awesome
-Very vivid and sharp images. Can be seen from all angles.
-It is easy to use. It starts out in demo mode to show its features. I'm also buying one for my parents.
-Has nice clock/calendar modes
-You can turn off the Sony logo
-Has a remote, and it's easy to use
-Has auto on/off and starts a slide show when it turns on
-Someone else mentioned that it doesn't have a wall mount. Since it needs a cord, it wouldn't look right on the wall anyway. If it ran on batteries, they would be dead within a few hours. It's only 7", so it makes more sense on a desk/table.
Cons:
-Hard to show just a subset of pix if you have a lot on there. i.e. Put 1000 pix on and only show a subset of 100 for the week.
-It gets finger prints on it easily, but that is not a show stopper
-Pricey - but that should come down over time"

Not just for geeks anymore. 07/31/2008

What's great about it: Nice size, can be seen across a room, Great Picture
What's not so great: Can't Hang, Power Adapter has a black cord.

"I've been fighting this purchase for some time. I don't want to be the geek with all the electronic gadgets spread out all over. But I did want to display many of my digital photographs on my desk and finally I gave in. What a nice purchase this was! The frame is much more discrete than I expected, the screen is clear and bright without the "glow" of a monitor. It just looks like a really sharp print. The transition from picture to picture doesn't distract me as I'm working and I've found people enjoy watching it and it's quite a conversation piece. I love to take pictures and I change the load frequently so I don't grow tired of it. On my desk it's perfect as is, but if I wanted to hang this on a wall at home, I couldn't because it's too thick and doesn't have a hook. I'd also have to do something with the cord which is black and would stand out quite prominently against a wall."

What's great about it: Easy to Use
What's not so great: Doesn't have the ability to hang like others brands.

"Sony lives up to it's name again. Picture quality is great and its real easy to use. I just dragged tons of pictures on to a memory stick, inserted it and turned it on. Played around with some of the features but the remote is an awesome touch. More expensive frames offered a touch screen but you had to get up to operate. I was able to program it to turn on and off at certain times of the day. Easy. I'm going to buy another frame for my Mom. She is afraid of anything electronic but I can load a memory stick and all she has to do is install and turn it on."

What's great about it: Crystal Clear picture
What's not so great: View order could have more options only by date, file name or random

"This is a great frame for a 7", good resolution and price for being a Sony product. Purchased as a gift for parents and they love it, easy to use, comes with a remote to change setting on the fly. Can be used in portrait or landscape mode and automatically changes view when you tilt it in position. Overall I highly recommend it and plan on picking one up for myself soon."

Pictures Limited 07/17/2008

What's great about it: Looks nice, has remote, easy to use
What's not so great: Limited number of pictures

"Nice looking frame, and the remote is a nice touch. However, even tho they offer 256MB of internal memory, they have apparently slid in a custom USB driver and limit pictures in a given directory to 170. I wanted to upload a year's work of pix, and was halted at 170 - even tho there was still over 200MB free. The box advertises "UP TO 500 PICTURES!". Yes, you can add more pictures - in a different directory, which is not accessible while viewing pictures. So, the "500 pictures" is incorrect. Best Buy graciously let me replace this at a store, tho I purchased the Sony from their Web site. I got a Westinghouse DPF-804 instead. It's not as sleek, has no remote, and only has 128 MB of internal memory. BUT, it handled all 370 ImageMagick-resized images I uploaded, and the 4-up Mosaic technology is cool.
So - if you will not be using more than 170 images in internal memory (or, I'd guess on an external card), Sony is a reasonable choice. Otherwise, look elsewhere."

What's great about it: great image, easy to use
What's not so great: slideshow order

"This frame is so easy to use and the image quality is amazing! My only complaint is that there are only 2 display options for the slideshow - random and shooting date. The random mode seems not-so-intelligent - the same photo was displayed 5 times in about 2 minutes. And selecting shooting date is tricky if you are using scaned in images - it just plops them in randomly amid the other photos. A 3rd option - filename or something - that would allow you to manipulate the display order would be great!! Overall though we are very happy!"

What's great about it: High resolution and very good quality

"This is the first digital frame I have owned and I am very pleased with the quality of the product and its performance. The picture quality is fantastic with 800x480 resolution and multiple display options. It is also very easy to add pictures to the device, just drag and drop. And with 256MB of built in memory I have loaded a ton of pictures on it with memory to spare. I would highly recommend this product."
