I can't begin to wonder why there are any bad reviews on this cam. It's SOO simple! Takes wonderful pics, and will go anywhere! I had mine stolen sadly :( but will buy another one soon! im a goof when it comes to droping things in water, snow, sand, etc,... so this model is purrfect for me! it's not the best in the world, but unless it's your job to take pictures i wouldn't go with any other for the price if you want freedom of taking good pic, anywhere you want. LOVE IT!
What's great about it: Can go anywhere, is idiot proof
What's not so great: Lots of feats. read manual before using on important pics.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have enjoyed this camera, it takes good pictures, it has cool features and I rarely have to adjust the settings so I dont miss out on pictures while messing with the camera. It is also very durable.
What's great about it: good pictures, good features
What's not so great: nothing so far

i got this camera on christmas day, and i didn't really use it underwater until two days before my birthday i went to a swimming pool and i took it under, and it kept saying that the battery door needed to be checked. so then i checked it and everything, and it was closed. it started zooming and being really uncooperative. it would zoom when i pressed to shutter button, and i'd have to press the zoom to take a picture. it was weird. but then i found out that the red piece that holds the battery in broke off and that's why water got into it. so i took it back to best buy and they told me that they would have to send it back to Olympus cause their fourteen day return policy was over. so they sent it back, and i called best buy a week later to know the status of the camera. best buy had been told by olympus that i would have to pay 150 dollars to get it repaired and everything, so then best buy just told me that they would give me the money back as a store credit and that i could buy anything in their store with 250 dollars. thanks best buy=] i re bought the camera because i knew that it didn't break because of the seals, but because the red piece broke off. it was literally the best camera i have ever had in my life, and i've gone through more then seven cameras. so, the point is, that this camera is great and you need to buy it.
What's great about it: underwater, color, picture quality.
What's not so great: nothing really, i just get scared to put it underwater. :)

I have never been so disappointed in a camera. I spent a lot of time talking with the sales people in the Bust Buy store about cameras and features. Several people assured me this was the camera they owned or were going to buy. I hope they did not. The picture quality is unbelieveably poor. I missed getting pictures at several activities with friends and family. I gave up. I loaned it to some friends thinking maybe if was just me. They had the same results. We all even read the owners manual. This camera takes pictures that look like you are standing behind a smoke screen. I had to go back to my old 2 MP camera. I am saving to buy another one. it will not be an Oympus. The cheap cameras in plastic packages would be an improvement over this.
What's great about it: The advertising.
What's not so great: Picture quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i took this camera to hawaii with me and it took some great pictures. but halfway through, the lens protector stopped working and it got sand in every little crack. also, i could barely take any pictures because the battery would run out so fast. when i put it in the mode that saves battery, it would take too long to turn on and i would miss the oppurtunity to take a picture of a fish two feet away.
What's great about it: amazing pictures underwater
What's not so great: short amount of battery life when underwater cheaply made
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It takes great photos - but when you are out on a boat or in sun, there is alot of glare on the screen. My old Olympus Stylus had a view finder you could look straight through. This does not and it is sometimes hard to frame a photo.
What's great about it: waterproof, small, compact
What's not so great: no view finder
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do not buy this camera!!!! it is the worse camera ever. We were at the lake and the camera stopped working and you can see some water had entered the camera. I sent the camera in to Olympus and they told me that I have to pay $120 to get fix after I paid $400 for it and they actually told me that I have to send the camera every year to get it refurbish. After complaining about the misleading advertisement, the lady actually told me you can go to the web and express your feelings!!!! EVERY YEAR PAY $120 – IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY – AGAIN DO NOT BUY!!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

its great i mean it can take pics under water and it takes A great picture to and its easy to work with and not complacated
