What's great about it: Shockproof, waterproof, photo options, etc.
What's not so great: Slow shutter, short battery life after a while

"When I first got this camera I was very pleased with it...It took great detailed photos for landscapes, portraits, water, everything. I loved using it underwater and it took quality photos...however I've had a year now and it's been starting to lose battery life more quickly and no longer focuses very well. Now when I take pictures, 99% of them seem to come out blurry and in poor quality and just aren't as stunning as they once were. Also I feel like the delay for taking a picture has been getting slower and slower, but that may just be my imagination- but it does take a while. Also, this camera also tends to take blurry pictures when there is not enough lighting and it can be aggrivating after a while...I recently went on a trip to the aquirium and about 4 of the 32 photos I took were good quality and I ended up deleting just about all of them. It may just be my camera having problems, but it isn't as great as it once was. I still love the shockproof and waterproof though ^^
Videos are also pretty decent on the camera, which is good. Action shots are also pretty good but you have to start taking them early, otherwise they get cut off because of the slow shutter in the camera.

For my pictures, the river one is one of the good quality photos it took about 6 months ago and the other photo is a more recent one with poorer quality/less focus/not as detailed and the lighting is horrible, it couldn't seem to avoid it...it got the action of the horse fine though, just bad lighting...that's how all of the pictures seemed to have come out that day."

What's great about it: Easy to use, reasonable price, extreme durability

"I am a US Sailor. I have used this camera to photo-document my travels all over the plant. I have dropped it on the steel deck, taken saltwater spray to the face, its even taken a plunge into a mopbucket filled with cleaing solution, and still this camera has not quit. I absolutely love it. I have never been kind on electronics, and even if your life is not as unusual as mine, but you still need something to last; I strongly recommend this. Its a great value for those of us with tight budgets, and made to last."

What's great about it: durable, waterproof, drop proof and takes great picutres
What's not so great: shutter a little slow

"outside having to be qiuck to catch those exact special moments this camera is the greatest. We are expecting our first grandbaby and send our son one of these to take pictures of those precious moments for us. Easy to use and as always nothing like digital...I love it!"

What's great about it: Waterproof, shockproof, & wide-angle.
What's not so great: Mediocre picture quality, short battery life

"The Olympus 1030 SW is a great camera for active people who just want to be able to take pictures as they embark on their adventures. The ability to take underwater pictures is a nice feature and they came out great (we tested it two different days in pools). There is also a feature that will allow panoramic pictures, though it can be a challenge to use--expect that your panoramic pics will not be perfect unless you have perfectly still hands."

What's great about it: Excellent camera. Super durable. And I am still discovering new functions. My favorite is the steady cam.
What's not so great: The battery life could be a tad bit better (but tha can be easily remidied with an extra battery)

"I have never been happier with a camera! You can do anything to it and it can survive it! Take it anywhere, and it still takes beautiful pictures! Its a wonderful camera and I would recommend it to ayone and everyone!"

What's great about it: Waterproof, tough

"I carried it down the Guadalupe and Comal River for two days. It was on for approximately 9 hours and I took 200+ pictures and 30 minutes of video and the battery still had power! It worked excellent! I love it! I've owned several digital cameras and this is by far the best! All the pictures I took turned out excellent! I'm very impressed!"

What's great about it: So many pros!

"We wasn't looking for this camera exactly, but when we stumbled across this camera in the store...we feel in love! A camera that can take a beating, be dropped in water, & has so many options for the photographer to choose from sold us on the camera. There is no way with this point & shoot that you can screw up another photos including video. It is sleek enough too to put in any pocket & take anywhere. We took ours sailing & under salt water...still love the camera!"

Underwater - murky river

What's great about it: Great pictures, easy to use, waterproof
What's not so great: none so far!

"It's great! We took it on it's first adventure last weekend which was a 4 hour kayak trip and the camera performed flawlessly. We got beautful pictures, it was very easy to use and to change image quality on the fly.
I love all the preset scenes you can choose from and ease of changing them.
It was very strange holding a digital camera underwater and taking pictures, but it worked without issue!
Very cool."

What's great about it: Compact, great pictures, large lcd
What's not so great: battery life

"I took this camera for a bike ride across Iowa. I bought two additional batteries. I took so many great pictures. It rained, and it still worked great, so did the pictures. I have also taken it snow skiing with me. No complaints. I had a piece of mind knowing that this camera was durable, weatherproof. The compact size is perfect for the pocket, backpack. You will not go wrong with this camera. Spend an extra 40 dollars and get a second battery as a back up."

What's great about it: CRYSTAL CLEAR PICS WITH IMPENETRABLE EXTERIOR!!

"I purchased this camera for my daughter for her birthday, knowing how clumsy and destructive she may sometimes be. She took it everywhere i saw that camera in the sand in the ocean and dropped several times from at least 4 feet onto concrete....all the while taking unmatchable quality pics. This camera is bullet proof and takes superior quality pics."
