What's great about it: does what it is supposed to
What's not so great: ... no problems so far
Recommended by installer for Infinity 12" Single-Voice-Coil 2-Ohm Subwoofer with Enclosure. Powers the sub no problem, sounds great. Only had a month but no issues at all. Only gave a 4 score on accuracy of controls cause it was already tuned so nothing to tweak.

This is a great mid-level amp for those not going for crazy power. Moreover, its small footprint is nice for easy mounting. I'm using this to power a 8" JBL subwoofer rated at 250 at 2ohms, which works out very well. It is well built and produces clean bass. It's a very good sub for the money.

What's great about it: Everything, sounds outstanding
What's not so great: Nothing, I haven't had a problem in the two years using it
I have this powering two twelve inch rockford p3's, which is way under powering them but it is also way louder than i'll ever need it, I have this in my 04 Tahoe and man does it really bump, i constantly have my bass on about negative 8, it is good quality bass too, I love this amp almost thinking about buying another one to fully power my subs even though I really don't need it.

What's great about it: The power output, besides everything else.
What's not so great: I haven't seen anything bad so far
I used these to replace a 1000 watt amp that I had previously that was bad. Even though it is less watts this is so much better. This is powering my 2 kicker comp 12'' and it is amazing. There are so loud with this amp and it rocks! The best amp I have ever used

What's great about it: a lot of things
What's not so great: it over heats on rare occassion
This amp has been great for the 6 months until recently. It has always put out just the right amount of sound. but recently it has been over heating and shutting off. so thats about the only thing that sucks about it. Great buy espectially for the type E alpine woofers. it matches perfect and if you find them on best buy at the right time they have a buy a sub get a subwoofer. thats what i did and just need this one amp to power them both! good amp!!!

What's great about it: EXCELLENT Bass!!! A true beast in the trunk!
What's not so great: It's perfect, even super clean looking with side plates to cover wiring!
Wow, hooked this beast up to my 2 12" soxy xplod subs and had to actually turn it down from the factory presets. Operating at approx. 20 percent total bass and gain, and wow, they hear me comin' now for sure! I actually paid 26 dollars for this amp, since my 1200 W sony xplod amp purchased from Best Buy was fried, so glad I purchased protection plan! Process for that was fairly simple, waited a LONG time for them to figure out it was too expensive to fix, but all in all, great service. I would recommend this to anyone who feels they aren't getting what they should out of their subs, I sure wasn't even before my 1200 W amp fried! This purchase definitely makes me trust and look forward to purchasing more Alpine products!

I've had this amp for 4 years now and is still working very good. It is powering two 10'' type-s subs and they hit pretty hard. I would recommend purchasing this amplifier.

What's great about it: Very user friendly.
What's not so great: Be careful not to strip the side cover screws.
Got this to put in a small space under the rear seat in my truck and I had room to spare. I thought I was sacrificing sound quality, power and features for size, but I am quite impressed with this unit. I have only had this unit for two months so I can not comment on long term use.

What's great about it: Long life, simple look and great production of bass
I run a JL 12W1 off of this amp. I've now had the setup in two different cars, self installed in my 2011 Subaru Outback. Both still sound amazing after 3 years now. This setup was a recommendation that I haven't ever regretted. I have driven long drives with the amp 4+ hours and she is still with me. Alpine has been around for a long time, they know how to make a great sounding affordable amp.

Well, ive been wanting Alpine ever since i got into car audio. I've had kenwood amp before this, the kac 8104d mono amp. It did great with power, but not with heat. it went into protect mode even without it getting hot. Either way, i went to best buy again after i bought two kicker 12's and a ported box, and got this amp. I must say it is rated at 500 rms at 2 ohms, and so was the kenwood, but the alpine can handle the power a lot better. i sat in my truck and thumped for a good hour and barely got warm at all. the kenwood would have gone into protect mode before the hour. What i dont get is that both the kickers are 4 ohms, and you can wire them to give out 4 ohms or 1 ohm and this alpine doesnt do 1 ohm so as far as i know, im pushing out 4 ohms. But the kickers have been knockin harder then anything i have had in my truck! So if anybody knows the solution tell me. Anyways, well worth the price, durability, and of course its alpine! it may not be the top of the line alpine amp but its great for making heads turn and your bass obsession satisfied.

can tune this amp to here the individual notes in a bass line. Iron maiden sounds better than ever, this amp rocks, i lsten to almost all music and going through my library it all sounds great. great match with the alpine sub woofer

I'm a former mobile audio installer at best buy. I'm also MECP certified Master installer. I drive a 2006 silverado ext-cab, I'm using a kenwood media deck, harman kappa components, 2- JL Audio 12w3 subs under the back seat, and one alpine M500 amp. I'm driving it @ 2ohms and have been for 2 years. I've tried various other amps and NONE came even close to the runt. its tiny for what it is, but huge on output! I'm starting a S10 project and plan to use 4 in it....
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: great price, simple set up, small to mount anywhere.. never over heats
What's not so great: getting pulled over for disturbing the peace!
I started hooking up systems in my cars about 11 years ago, i was always a fan of nice pure and loud feeling bass. The best amps i ever owned was my rockford fosgate 800.2, i bought a new dodge neon. My buddy happen to have two 10 inch alpine type E's and just gave them to me for a starter system. There 4ohm single voice coil. bought this small amp not expecting to sound like my rockford amp hooked to my JL 13w7(yes13's). I cant believe that the money i spent on those expensive subs and amp. When This amp pushes them just like my old expensive system. If your looking for some real punding bass, get this amp, My gain is only a little past half, bass boost is not even turned up it on 0! and my low pass is set between 100-110hz. you will be fully satisfied, guaranteed.

What's not so great: the connects for the power/ground/remote turn-on are poorly designed and lead to mashed cables.
This has been a great amp for me. Very small and light, hardly even gets warm, and puts out tons of wattage. This amp is powerful enough to easily push 2 12" subs hard. It has not cut out on me a single time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: Didnt push the sub like I was hoping.
I bought this amp to power 1 jl audio 8w3v3-4 sub. I was not very impressed with it at all. Took it back and got the kenwood kac-9105d. That amp has double the power and was a $100 difference, but it was worth it. That subs sounds great now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
